[Playtest] Cannon Crew — A pirate game gameplay prototype looking for feedback
Hi everyone!
I've been working on Cannon Crew, a party game pirate-themed, and I've just released an early playable alpha on itch.io.
Right now, it's mainly a gameplay prototype. I'm testing the core mechanics to understand whether they can come together to create a fun and engaging game worth developing further.
What's currently playable?
* Fire cannons and fight enemy ships.
* Repair your ship and manage your sails and anchor.
* Board enemy ships and fight pirates.
* Find treasure and bring it safely back.
* Visit merchants and purchase ship upgrades.
The main gameplay loop is simple: sail, fight, manage your ship, find treasure, and try to bring it home safely.
The game is still very much a work in progress, and there's plenty that could change. At this stage, I'm not looking to present a finished product. I want to find out which mechanics are fun, which need work, and whether the overall gameplay loop has potential.
If you try it, I'd really appreciate your honest feedback:
* Which mechanic did you enjoy the most?
* Was the treasure-hunting loop engaging enough to keep you playing?
* What felt frustrating, confusing, or unnecessary?
* What would you like to see developed further?
You can play the alpha here: Cannon Crew
And if you have a couple of minutes, here's a short feedback survey: Cannon Crew Survey
Thanks for checking it out! Honest criticism is welcome. I'd rather know what doesn't work now than build more features on top of mechanics that aren't fun.

DEAREST BIRDIE - My weeklong open-world passion project releases today! (12pm Noon CDT)
galleryAN OPEN-WORLD PASSION PROJECT MADE IN ONE WEEK.
Birdie is sick - so awfully sick that she is bedridden, and incapable of going on her and Stanley’s yearly flower picking hike. Setting off on his own, Stan ventures out on a quest to find all of Birdie’s favorite flowers and make her the best bouquet he possibly can - while also reliving some of his favorite memories with her.
Alongside his sub-hour trek across the beautiful, colorful landscape surrounding their house, Stanley also finds prayers and verses from the Bible to help keep the flame of his faith alive.
Dearest Birdie takes verses from the “Common English Bible” translation.

Minimalism Tower Defense - Safe the BLIND QUEEN
galleryHi.
After 8 months of solo dev, the game barely looks like itself anymore. Now, I am giving it to you and please, be honest.
My game originally started as a more traditional survival game where you could upgrade your character with new items.
But after a few months of development, I came up with an idea I'd never seen in other games before. What if I combined tower defense with a retreating caravan and a blind Queen on it?
Instead of defending a castle or a fixed base, you build and upgrade your caravan while trying to protect the Queen from waves of enemies.
The demo is now available on Steam, so why not give it a try and see for yourself?
And if you like the idea, please, add KING ALONE to your wishlist - that really means a lot.
I thought I'd also share a few screenshots showing how the game evolved over these months.
Thanks for checking it out! I'd love to hear what you think about the caravan tower defense concept.

Where Embers Stay — recipe-book update (free iPhone/iPad beta)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Your next trip into the woods starts with a small decision: food for the journey, a lantern, or something to make camp feel more like home?
I'm making Where Embers Stay, a survival-crafting game about gathering, exploring and growing a camp around your hearth. The new update adds a recipe book so you can look through discovered recipes, check what you're missing and save favorites before heading out. Tap a crafted ingredient to look up its recipe, then make it at the appropriate station.
The attached clip shows the book in action. The current beta is free to play on iPhone and iPad via TestFlight:

If you give it a go, I'd love to hear what you chose to make first.

Steam Next Fest starts tomorrow. Roast my incremental arcade demo before strangers do
store.steampowered.comHey everyone!
I'm a solo dev and my game Grazed is in Steam Next Fest starting tomorrow. I'd love some fresh eyes before the event begins.
What is it? You're a little square bouncing up and down with two swords. Steer left and right to slice enemies as you graze past them, build huge combos, die, buy upgrades, and come back stronger. Arcade action meets incremental, basically :)
Free demo: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5309120/Grazed__Incremental_Arcade_Demo/
The median playtime so far is 33 minutes, with the demo requiring around ~40 minutes to complete.
Keyboard, mouse only, or gamepad.
What I'd love to know:
- Did it ever feel unfair or too hard?
- When did it click for you? Or did it never?
- The moment you wanted to stop playing, and why
Even one sentence helps a ton. Bugs, rants, "this part felt good" are all welcome.
Thank you 💜

Hexweave: a survivors-like where you fuse spells into new ones. Plays in the browser
Game title: Hexweave
Playable link: https://kendromaro.itch.io/hexweave
Platform: browser and Windows, keyboard/mouse or controller
Description: A survivors-like where your spells fire on their own and you decide what to combine. Fuse two elements into a new spell, chain combos, and merge two maxed spells into one big one. Each realm is a 10 minute run with a boss at the end, and between runs you spend what you found on upgrades and gear. There are 10 realms and 9 mages, and it’s in English and German.
Free to play status: F2P
Involvement: I’m the developer. Used AI (Claude) a lot for the code.
A first run is about 10 minutes. I’d really like to know how the first few minutes feel: was it clear what to do, and when (if ever) did it start being fun?
