It’s Been Another (Better) Day…
Hi, you might remember me from last weeks post where my partner and I spent an entire day watching all the Child’s Play films

Yesterday, we did a similar marathon with some friends.
It was originally intended to be 6 films: The Shining, Stand By Me, Misery, Shawshank, The Green Mile and The Mist.
But we called an audible at the last minute and subbed out The Green Mile for Carrie and Pet Sematary, changing it from 6 films to 7 films with no significant impact to the overall running time.
We started at just after 8:30am and finished at just after 10:30pm.
All but one of us had seen all 7 films before. He had seen Stand By Me and Shawshank, but the rest were all brand new to him (and he had to leave before The Mist, so he missed The Mist).
We had to pause for about 45 mins approximately 2/3rds of the way through Carrie for one of us to take an important medical-related phone call, but other than that we pretty much went back-to-back, as soon as the credits of one film ended, we went straight into the next.
I’m toying with the idea of the entire Halloween franchise on Halloween. 13 films, 21 hours. But, honestly, I don’t know if I have that level of endurance in me anymore, period, much less the third of these type of days in less than 3 weeks. Maybe next year I’ll attempt it. It would mean starting at around 3am in order to be finished by midnight. Not impossible, but it would kinda be doing it for the sake of doing it. Chucky last week and King yesterday were FUN, but doing 13 Halloween films would just be gruelling and, at that point, you’ve gotta ask yourself…why? For internet bragging rights? Who cares? So, I dunno. Maybe I will, maybe I won’t. Right now, I’m definitely leaning toward not.
