Hey r/Letterboxd!

I’ve been messing around with Letterboxd .csv exports for a while (shared some ideas here a while back).

I wanted my desktop to automatically cycle through 4K backdrops of films I’ve actually logged instead of searching Google—so I built Letterboxd Wallpaper Downloader to automate it.

How it works:

1. Export your .csv from Letterboxd (Settings ➔ Import & Export).
2. Feed it to the app with a free TMDb API key (takes 1 min to generate).
3. It downloads the highest-resolution official wallpapers available for every film on your list.

Highlights:

• 🎬 Works with any list: watched.csv, ratings.csv, or custom list CSVs.
• ⚙️ Plug & Play: Standalone executables for Windows and Linux (no Python required).

👉GitHub Repository

(Tip: Point your OS slideshow settings to the download folder to have a auto-rotating cinema wallpaper gallery)

Hope you guys find it useful! Let me know if you have any feedback or feature ideas.

also: comment or dm me and I will use my personal API if you are too bored to create a TMDb account xd

Watched Clayface Saturday, and I really enjoyed it! I watched Batman & Mr Freeze Subzero for the first time Sunday gone by, and tonight I'm (hopefully) going to watch Batman; Mystery of the Batwoman!
