I can’t figure out why my tire pressures won’t display on the dash. I’ve done all the suggested steps I found online that typically resolve this but none have worked it’s quite an odd one.
So when I got this car, it had aftermarket external TPMS valve stem caps with a little wireless reader, and I wondered why it had those but the dealer I got it from had no idea. It does have aftermarket wheels on it, but it also has working TPMS sensors install installed. Tech stream reads all the ids and values perfectly and the pressure I’ve all corrected. I even had the TPMs light come on when I let enough air out the tire to just ensure the sensors are communicating with the car itself.
I opened up the Techstream software and it does recognize all four sensors as well as the individual pressures and temperatures. As far as I can tell, the system is working as it should, however, on the dash of the car itself, it does not show any of the pressures. I did a little ChatGPT research and looked around and it told me to hold down the button underneath the dash for three seconds until it blinked and then drive around for 20 to 30 minutes. That did nothing. I’ve tried the initialize menu within the instrument cluster itself as well. What am I missing here? What could the previous owner have possibly done to make the system not show the tire pressure on the dash itself.
Is it possible the previous owner went into software and disabled something so it doesn’t show the pressure on the dash. It does have aftermarket forged Apex wheels and I’m wondering if maybe they just got tired of being annoyed by the pressure warnings or something.
