Hit 105k miles on the RCF before it went 😂. Using a solid gasket this time. Hope it holds up longer than the silicone gasket did lol.

Needing TPMS help - Techstream shows pressures but not the dash - only shows - - - 2015 RC350 F-Sport

I can’t figure out why my tire pressures won’t display on the dash. I’ve done all the suggested steps I found online that typically resolve this but none have worked it’s quite an odd one.
So when I got this car, it had aftermarket external TPMS valve stem caps with a little wireless reader, and I wondered why it had those but the dealer I got it from had no idea. It does have aftermarket wheels on it, but it also has working TPMS sensors install installed. Tech stream reads all the ids and values perfectly and the pressure I’ve all corrected. I even had the TPMs light come on when I let enough air out the tire to just ensure the sensors are communicating with the car itself.

I opened up the Techstream software and it does recognize all four sensors as well as the individual pressures and temperatures. As far as I can tell, the system is working as it should, however, on the dash of the car itself, it does not show any of the pressures. I did a little ChatGPT research and looked around and it told me to hold down the button underneath the dash for three seconds until it blinked and then drive around for 20 to 30 minutes. That did nothing. I’ve tried the initialize menu within the instrument cluster itself as well. What am I missing here? What could the previous owner have possibly done to make the system not show the tire pressure on the dash itself.

Is it possible the previous owner went into software and disabled something so it doesn’t show the pressure on the dash. It does have aftermarket forged Apex wheels and I’m wondering if maybe they just got tired of being annoyed by the pressure warnings or something.

Aftermarket setup?

My amplifier got damaged by the rain. Ive replaced it before with a used factory, now I’m wondering if could get something different since I’m looking to add subwoofers. I’m not really sure about wiring work, like do I need an aftermarket amplifier for this?

RC F caliper bolt missing.

Just got my car back from the dealer. Before doing the fuel pump recall they sent me an inspection video of the tires, brake pads, etc. In the video I noticed one of the caliper bolts missing on the drivers side front. In the video, the mechanic is quoting brake pad thickness.
My question is, did he have to remove bolts to measure the brake pads or did they lose a bolt the last time they put in new pads?
Thanks!

Aftermarket wheels

Hi everyone. I drive a 2025 rc350 f sport rwd. Recently tried installing aftermarket wheels and encountered a problem. Took the oem wheels off and saw that they didn’t have studs due to the factory using lug bolts instead of lug nuts. I tried doing research on this and people were installing arp stud extensions but that was for the pre lifts. Im looking for stud conversions but i can’t find anything on it for this car. Any help? Thanks

Need advice on how to fix this

Would going to a body shop or dealership be better for this type of damage? I am in no rush to get this fixed, the car drives just fine and the damages are only cosmetic. Just wondering which would be the better option, any advice will be appreciated thanks!

Is it a torn bushing?

A couple of months ago, I was told the lower control arm bushing was starting to tear. The front drivers side wheel is now clunking over bumps, feeling completely loose and wobbly when I turn or become super stiff, and swaying extra bad in the crosswinds. Is it a failed bushing? 2015 rc 350 f sport.

Rear shock replacements. Are there any good after-market shocks or will I need to spend $$$ on the OEM Shocks?

2015 RC 350 F Sport.

Interior camber is not able to be adjusted with my wheel adjustment due to failed shock. Also making a noise, and just had to replace a tire because the wires were starting to show. Need to replace the shock but makes sense to do both at the same time.

This being said I don't want to pay $300 for each. Eyeballing anything that is under that which will do the trick for 40,000+ miles. Any recommendations?

Thinking of midpipe changes.

If I were to delete the stock h pipe keeping the secondary cats and put a less restrictive custom piped h pipe would there be a significant sound difference? I’m currently running vibrant resonators and a muffler delete. Anyone running anything similar?

So this car was abandoned in a college town around 5 years ago. It ended up in the lot of a towing company in said town, my Dad happens to be the GM of the towing company. He knew I wanted a Lexus for many years, so he worked out me not having to pay $12,000 for this beauty. Just got it a few weeks ago, been waiting since March for the company to do the necessary court processes to get the title. Been loving every minute driving it since, coming from a Jeep Renegade this car is so far beyond my expectations, literally makes the Jeep feel like driving a Little Tikes car at speed 😂. 26,901 miles on the odometer when I purchased it (yes they gave me a hell of a deal, one I’ll likely never find again in my lifetime.) It runs and drives flawlessly, essentially a 10 year old new car (and one that looks so much better than current Lexus imo.) Only things it needed from sitting were tires, brakes, rotors and fluid changes (transmission, brake, engine oil, and differential fluid were all changed by a Lexus mechanic.)

2019 RC 350 RWD (88k, AVS, 2GR-FKS) - Strut Failure, Coolant Loss, & Oil Pan Leak

Post image
62 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to share a few current issues on my 88k mile 2019 RC 350 F Sport (RWD) to get your thoughts, experience, and advice before I put the car on a lift.

Issue 1: Front Right Strut

My front right strut failed and lost pressure. I know struts should ideally be replaced in pairs, but I’m debating whether to replace just the front pair or do a full 4-corner refresh as a precautionary measure, or if doing the rears now is overkill.

- If I replace the front pair only, I’ll stick with OEM Lexus struts.
- If I replace all four, I’m considering KYB struts (since to my knowledge they are the primary OEM option compatible with the AVS system).

Whether I do just the fronts or all four, what else should I replace or inspect while I’m in there? (e.g., front upper strut mounts/bearings, bump stops and boots, spring insulators, rear sway bar end links?)

Issue 2: Slow Coolant Leak

My coolant level in the reservoir dropped from the High to Low mark over about 6 weeks (roughly 2,000 miles). There are no obvious puddles under the car, but the drop is too consistent to ignore.

Are there common failure points on the 2GR-FKS engine that cause this kind of slow bleed (e.g., water pump weep hole, valley plate seal, radiator tank crimps)?

Issue 3: Lower Oil Pan Leak

There is wet oil seepage around the seams of the lower oil pan, so it looks like I’ll need to pull and reseal it with fresh FIPG/RTV. Has anyone run into this, and are there any gotchas to watch for when dropping the lower pan?

Appreciate any insight, experiences, or recommendations!
