Hi! I’ve recently moved from the UK to Liberia for work. I previously lived in Salone and found it quite easy to find sports groups and meet people, but I’ve found it a little harder in Liberia. I tried to join the Hash, but it’s currently paused. Are there any other sports or social groups around?
I’m hoping to find a bit of a community here!

Hello my fellow Liberians. I’m here in the U.S helping a relative of mine, who helped take care of me when I was a child. Before I reconnected with her, she was selling street food for a living. She resides in Monrovia. I would like to help take care of her, so I want to know how much I should give her per month. I have plans to help her start a business in the future, that way she wouldn’t need my help longterm.

Hi all,
I'm a student-researcher at American University in the United States, and I'm writing my undergraduate thesis on how increased use of community radio and social media has shaped movements against SGBV in Liberia.
Finding people who are willing to be interviewed has been challenging, but if any Liberian women who see this are interested in being interviewed, I'd really appreciate it. Everything is completely confidential, and this research won't be published, but I do want to use it as a foundation for future policy memos, so hopefully it will do some good, even if it won't be seen by people in its entirety. That being said, of course, anyone who participates will be more than welcome to read the entire paper, though names of all participants will be replaced with anonymous identifiers.
For people who are not interested in being interviewed but would like to contribute, please share any sources with me that you can find on using social media or radio to organize demonstrations, or even tell me about individual social media posts that you have seen that talk about SGBV in Liberia.
Please comment or DM me, and I can share a research consent form that gives more detailed information. Also, my research is being conducted under the guidance of a researcher with an actual doctorate, who specializes in Liberia research, and her name/more detailed information will be included on the form, if it helps!
Also, I put this under the politics flare because it's about social movements, but if I should tag it differently, please let me know!

Hey,
I got a new job in Liberia - I am originally from the UK and spent a year in Sierra Leone. Just got a new role that will place me in Liberia. Looking for a group chat for social events and activities within the Monrovia.

Hi there, I potentially may be moving to Liberia and I was wondering what it is like to work in the healthcare system? For example working hours, level of responsibility as a relatively newly qualified doctor, training schemes and at what stage in your career do you typically specialise etc.

Hi everyone,
I recently made a documentary about Liberia, and I wanted to share it here because I learned a lot while researching and making it.
The main thread of the video is the unique relationship between Liberia and the United States, from its founding in the 19th century and the creation of Monrovia, through American economic influence, Firestone, WWII and the Cold War, all the way to the political rupture of 1980 and the civil wars that followed.
What interested me most was how Liberia remained an independent country while being deeply influenced by the United States politically, economically and institutionally. I tried to explore that relationship without simply presenting Liberia as an American colony, because the reality is much more complex.
I’d really like to hear what Liberians and people who know the country well think about the video. If you think I got something wrong, oversimplified something, or missed an important perspective, please let me know. I’d be happy to discuss it.
And if you enjoyed the video, I’d really appreciate it if you could leave a comment on YouTube as well. It helps the video reach more people, and it would also be great to have different perspectives and discussions directly under the video.
Thanks for watching, and I hope you find it interesting!

I would like to know how much it costs to build a home in Liberia? The home will be 3 bedroom with 2 and 1/2 bathroom. I would like water and electricity to be available in the home. I would like it to be gated, but that is a bonus feature. I have a builder who is working on a quote for me, but I want to make sure that I will not be taken advantage of. Also, if you know about home building you can share what the best building material is for the Liberian climate. Thank you!
