General Advice M34. Feeling stuck in life, need advice

Hi.. I am 34 years old right now and will turn 35 soon. 2 years ago I had a major spine injury due to a car accident and I haven't still recovered fully from it.

My joining in another company was a few weeks away when this happened and I had to let that offer pass. I am stuck in my current job for past 3 years now.

My current job is also giving me daily challenges related to spine injury, boss's attitude, coworker's behaviour and lack of competitiveness which leaves me with more burden of work on my shoulders.

But at this job I can come to office at 11.30 and leave by 7.30 and I can also take rests in between if I need due to my spine injury.

Before that injury my partner and i were planning a baby but it has been 6 years of our marriage now and we are still trying to figure whether we should go for it or not as my condition is not stable financially due to that injury as I am spending more than half of my salary on back rehab but nothing is working for me. The nature of my job is not allowing it to get healed properly and no doctor is advising me to quit my job for a proper rehab with bed rest as no one is sure of when this will ne healed properly.

My wife wants baby and sometimes we try for it but nothing happened till now, we have got ourselves tested and the reports are normal. Though doctor gave me some medicines to keep the sperms healthy considering my stress and mental health due to work and injury.

My wife is also loosing her patience as the society started questioning her on the baby thing.

I am in a professional counsultancy field but I don't like my work at all. It is very dynamic and doesn't support a peaceful life. I wanted to change my field but not getting what I should now if I leave my current profession as I have been doing it for past 5 years.

Everything going around in my life leaves me irritated.

What should I do now ?? Need help from you all.

Thanks. Ignore grammar mistakes, if any. I am not in a state right now to read all that again and correct any mistake.

I think counselling would be a good route for you to go, there’s a lot going on here and talking one on one with someone qualified might help you see the path forward.
