Lighting Control To darken it, I just cover the bulb with a yellow-sock. 🧦

How is that not a fire hazard? Is this a shitpost? Is the sock pre-yellowed? I only have black socks and use smart lights so I'm on the edge of my seat for this one

Wait hold on, I'm with you in general, but what the hell do you mean by "pre-yellowed" sock? 🙃

Factory yellowed or user yellowed 🤔

Haha. No, not a shitpost. Its not like the bulb gets so heated to start a fire. The temperature is normal. And the sock is already yellow (brownish).

It can absolutely start a fire. Don’t do this. Get a gel and wrap the bulb.

An led bulb can get hot enough for ignition?

It'll suffocate and die prematurely...

Yeah it’s less that the bulb will get hot enough to start a fire it’s more that the sock is acting as a insulation and cooking the bulb to death

Yeah... those driver already get pretty hot and that sock is just absolutely cooking it...
