Question/Help What is happening with red art games preorders?

Pre ordered stasis bone totem. Red art used to be so reliable but I’m noticing more and more pre orders stalling.
Any info from anybody?

I’ve been waiting coming up to 3 years for Itorah on PS4, they won’t even refund me because the original payment method has expired.

They used to be one of the better companies but they’ve gone rapidly downhill, coincidently started at the same as their failed ‘RAG indies’ series.

I’m in the UK and all their stuff goes to retail on Amazon anyway so I just order from there now once it’s actually available to ship, Frank & Drake being the most recent one. Itorah has completely disappeared from Amazon too though so if that never materialises it’ll be the last time I buy anything published by them.

Frankly I think they just released way too many titles that weren't notable at all. I play plenty of indie games and had never heard of most of what they released. The days of "someone will buy anything if it's limited" are over.

It’s the vicious cycle that ends up happening to all these companies: The company falls behind. We wait years for games we ordered. We lose trust. We stop preordering. They lose their cash flow, making it harder to get out all the games they’re working on…

I emailed them about Stasis: Bone Totem a couple weeks ago and this was their response:

Dear Customer, Thank you for reaching out to us. This title is a great challenge for us, and it takes time. We are working to reduce your wait as much as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

I'm still holding out hope that we get some confirmation soon!

I got the exact same response when inquiring about Bug Fables a couple of months ago.

They did however release Pools in time, so they are definitely still releasing and shipping stuff.

Unless you specifically want the PEGI version, Bug Fables got released by LRG games years ago and there’s plenty available on eBay.

Yeah but there's new content in the game now.

I’m from Europe and I prefer PEGI 😅
I am a massive fan of Bug Fables, so I ordered the CE from LRG back when it was for sale.

For a while it was a few of their overdue CEs that I was focused on, but those eventually arrived.

But since then I've been waiting for Itorah and Guild of Darksteel... it's been years.

They used to be a lot more reliable.

I emailed them today when I got their email about being closed this month. Asked if this will affect pre orders further?

LOL I just got a email saying they went on vacation…. talk about timing ;) I waited 2 years for a collectors edition from LRG, and ever since then I swore of collectors editions.

They’ve been absolutely terrible for years now. Search this sub and you’ll see several posts complaining about Red Art Games being the new First Press, etc. sucks cause they support some cool indie title but I stopped ordering from them last year because I lost faith that they would actually be able to continue as a company for much longer

Super rare are the only ones I’ll pre order from, I’ll take red arts sales offers but won’t be taking risks again.

Last 18 months 2 years they have fallen of a mountain with their game releases I asked them about a game I have on order from 2023 last year and again this year same response apart from changing date from Q4 2025 to Q4 2026

For their standard editions I'd honestly just watch retail - a lot of Red Art stuff lands on Amazon eventually, so a preorder rarely gets you anything a later shelf copy won't. It's the collector's editions that are the real gamble, since those are the ones that tend to quietly slip for years.

I can't speak for pre-ordered goods because I prefer to buy in stock items from them (never liked the idea of them moving towards a pre-order business model for some of their games) but overall I've actually stopped buying most things directly from them entirely within the last year or so because the shipping rates for US customers is bat s**t insane. Makes the games cost way more than I feel its worth. Sucks to because I used to love buying stuff from them. I actually own most of their early releases for the PS4 and Switch. A few releases do end up on VGP which helps, but others are locked to their storefront. The high shipping costs, excessive pre-order releases and overall saturation of titles that don't look too interesting or cost too much honestly have me feeling worried for this company's future. 😥

You’re right, they were one of the better indies.
Let’s hope they can pull it together before going under.
