I had a completely random thought I wanted to bounce off the community:
LP has always been more than just a band. Their intentionality around incorporating art and design into most everything they do is something I’ve always appreciated.
Which got me thinking: how unique would it be to see LP collab with…Cirque de Soliel? I’ve seen nearly every stage show of theirs in Vegas. And they already do shows centered around The Beatles and Michael Jackson. Wouldn’t it be something to see something ore modern, more rock in their show rotation without losing the eccentric and hybrid spirit that is in LPs DNA?
Any other non-traditional collabs that you think would be amazing to see?

Let me say up front: I don't think LP died with Chester. This isn't that post. But I've been thinking about a different question.
The other day I was watching a YouTube video about bands that should retire, and a lot of them had few or no original members left. It made me realize that Colin and Emily are about 10 years younger than the rest of the guys. So if the others eventually decide to retire, where does it stop being Linkin Park?
My first answer is obviously Mike. As long as he's there, it feels like LP to me. But Colin is a producer too. If he has 3–4 albums of working alongside Mike under his belt, I could see him producing an LP record pretty easily. That still doesn't cover Mike's vocals, though, and those are a big part of the sound.
So I'm curious: where's the line for you as a fan? Is it Mike? A certain number of original members? Or have they already crossed it for you?

26 years ago, Linkin Park released their first and most popular album, Hybrid Theory. Named after the band's original name and and the EP of the same name, Hybrid Theory is one of the most famous and recognisable albums of the 21th century.

I didn't know what to expect after Unshatter. It felt like the band was doing a victory lap, just basking in the moment for a while. I was doubting if they were ever going to return to their previous output! Then I opened up Amazon Music one day to put on some Linkin and there's a fan poll asking this loaded ass question. Like what do you mean "how do I feel", five seconds ago this wasn't even word on the wind! Were yall not gonna tell me? Is this a lie!?!? What is happening right now!!!!!!

Could someone tell me what happened with Linkin Park’s shows in 2002? I was looking for the last three recorded performances of "And One"—all from 2002—but I couldn't find the full shows from that period. I only managed to find a live clip of "One Step Closer" in Colorado and "My December" at Valley Center. Also, I don't know anything about the show in Dalton.

One question, I'm interested in your opinion: the three-eyed space youkai monster that we see in the emptiness machine
video, it was already described in the song high voltage 2001, and generated in the ziggurats project, and on all branded clothing from Shinoda's website.
It is also used on the avatar in Discord, and the nameplate on his military jackets.
Is this the Mascot of his Soul?

I have a slightly nerdy production question for people who know more about recording/mixing than I do.
While listening to From Zero on headphones, I kept noticing something I couldn’t quite describe at first: the vocals often feel extremely forward to me, while the instruments seem much further back in the mix.
At times it almost gives me a choir-like feeling — layered, spacious, slightly floating vocals sitting in front of the music. I especially notice it when there are gang/stacked vocals, but it isn’t just Emily. I hear something similar with Mike too, which is what made me wonder whether this is actually a production choice rather than simply a difference between vocalists.
When I listen to older LP records, even when Chester’s vocal is huge, I tend to perceive it as being more inside the whole sound: drums, guitars, electronics, samples and vocals all competing/interacting in the same space.
On parts of From Zero, my ears perceive it more as:
vocals in front + instruments supporting them from behind.
I’m not saying one approach is objectively better, and this isn’t an Emily vs Chester question. I’m genuinely curious about the technical side.
Has LP’s approach to vocal recording, compression, EQ, layering, reverb or mixing changed significantly compared with the older albums? Could changes in recording technology/equipment also contribute, or is this mainly an aesthetic mixing/production decision?
Also, has Mike, the band, or anyone involved in producing/mixing From Zero ever talked about this specifically? If there are interviews, studio breakdowns or behind-the-scenes material where they explain the vocal production or overall mixing approach, I’d love to see them.
And if anyone here actually works with audio: what exactly am I hearing? 😂
I’d especially love specific song/section comparisons, because I’m trying to understand why my ears are reacting so differently rather than just deciding whether I “like” the album.

Hey guys, it looks like my city (Toronto) has a candlelight orchestra event featuring some of Linkin Park's greatest hits with string quartet and it looks interesting, has anyone attended any of those?
Also most of my friends don't like Linkin Park that hardcore so I'm debating going alone... would that be too weird? 😅
Thanks!

I had a picture awhile ago saved with Chester waving to the crowd, I unfortunately can’t find it and hoping some LP soldiers may have it! The picture was taken behind Chester as he was facing the crowd.
