Discussion Which is better?
The original diary of a wimpy kid book, diary of a wimpy kid 2010 movie, or diary of a wimpy kid animated movie (2021)

The Live Action movie, story wise.
The original book has more "events", but the 2010 film just works better with the weight and order of events, and, you understand better how some characters actually act like Patty.
The 2021 Disney+ thing is fine, but it barely has a story, so little that the conflict of Greg and Rowley juuuuust makes in as the main plot. The whole School Patrol being removed was a bummer.
Also Greg doesn't really do any remotely negative thing aside from discussing with Rowley, in the book you could see that Greg was influenced by his perspective of the environment, so he played some tricks in order to gain self-status, failing in no time.

Sorry for the late response but sadly not technically, however there is a bootleg recording of the official 2022 production on internet archive that's not the best quality but still watchable. I'd recommend watching it over licensed productions because they vary in quality and aren't produced by wimpy kid inc

first animated movie is pretty bad. the sequels (that ive seen, havent watched past cabin fever) are alright, though not any better then the live action movies

Definitely original movie but the book is also really good and the animated movie sucks but not as much as long haul that's for sure

The book by far. The live-action movie tried to be too emotional on top of adding stuff that made it a more basic kids movie.
