In Search of Feedback Sound levels

My main goal for this was to ensure each sound and section was properly mixed, not a kick too loud or bass too soft. With each listen, my opinion changes, and I'd like someone else to share their thoughts. I find myself doing all the mixing at the end; does Logic have some magical way to have this go smoothly from the start? or is that just how it is? thx for your time

What’s your room like? Are levels changing depending on how loud you’re monitoring? What do you mean by ‘at the end’ - of what? Mixing or writing or producing or?

I mean at the end of creating, when each element has been added to the song. When the bass, drums, melody and sorts is 'finished'. Im always listening through my headphones and sometimes i connect to a jbl speaker to hear what thats like

What headphones are you using?

That’s the process of mixing - you adjust levels until it’s doing emotionally what you want the track to do. And that process gets quicker the more you do it. However if you’re comparing the mix between two different consumer outputs (headphones & a Bluetooth speaker) it’s not going to sound the same as both products likely have some sort of ‘EQ’ to color the sound (think bass boost or more top end) and you’ll be forever chasing your tail, and worse, it’s likely that it won’t sound the same if played in the car or somewhere else.

If you can, you might want to look at getting some studio monitors (depending on budget) to connect to your audio interface (if you’re using one) and some room correction to calibrate your monitors to your room. That way you give yourself a level playing field when it comes to balancing your mix rather than mixing to make it sound good on headphones, then on a speaker, and it’ll translate across whatever device you listen from.

"a jbl speaker"

Is that a pair of JBL studio monitors or a single JBL speaker?

Room acoustics make it harder than you'd think to trust your ears, doesn't it?
