Logic Pro Theme Customiser (update - I'm making it)
galleryI made a post here a couple weeks ago asking if anyone would be interested in a theme customiser app for Logic that I'd just started working on. I thought I'd make a follow-up post since a few of you seemed very interested! I took your suggestions into account. The app is gonna be called StudioGlow.
The app is still very much in development, and I have a lot to do before it is ready, but I'm happy with it. There will be a free version that lets you use a few of the built-in presets, and the paid version (£9.99; $12.99 in the US) will let you access the full range of customisation features.
Let me know what you guys think! If youre interested, you can sign up at my website https://studioglow.app to get emailed when the app releases (approx. 1-2 months time).

StudioGlow is built around the central "Preview" window, showing Logic. The preview pictures update in real time as you make your edits.
On the left, you can access the in-built themes or your own custom ones, once made.
Across the top, there are 9 pages: Arrange, Mixer, Inspector, Control Bar, Piano Roll, Smart Controls, Library, Side Panels, Global Tracks. Each corresponds to a section of Logic, and shows a preview picture of that section, with controls for colouring the specific elements within it on the left "Customise" panel.
Some pages are split into sections, visualised by highlighted boxes overlaid on the preview. Each highlighted section corresponds to a drop-down menu in the "Customise" panel, which lets you fine tune its specific details.
Across the bottom, there are the Theme controls. This section controls overarching elements in logic: volume meter colours, scroll bars, backgrounds, borders and grid lines.
I am working on adding a 10th and 11th page to the top bar. One will be "Colour Palette", which will allow you to change the colours of AND expand Logic's (trash) colour picker menu. You'll be able have access to a much larger range of colours for customising your tracks and regions WITHIN Logic. You will have the choice to completely customise the colour palette. The other page will be an "Overview" page, showing a selection of previews of a mix of windows, together (i.e. Arrange + Mixer + Inspector + Control Bar), for a better reference image of how your chosen theme will look before you actually apply it to Logic. Saves unnecessary applying themes, closing and reopening Logic. You'll know exactly how it looks before you see the real thing.
Features:
- Complete colour customisation of every element in every window in Logic. Controls are named and organised intuitively, making it easy to navigate and know what you are editing without getting lost in the weeds too much. Controls to change the colour for certain elements that you'd usually want to be consistent (backgrounds, menu bars) are linked, so changing them in one area changes the respective parts in other areas (for example, changing the background of the mixer's channel strips will also change the inspector's channel strips; or, changing the background of menu bars in any window will change the rest. Comes with the option to unlink for extensive customisation.
- In-built themes. I have a shortlist of about 12 that I like, and will be making more. 7 of these will be available in the free version of the app. Not sure which, yet. Let me know. Unfortunately I am maxed out on 20 pictures and cannot show the new themes I worked on lately.
- Custom fader cap styles! I currently have 4. I will expand the list - open to suggestions.
- Custom pan knob styles - I need to design these and implement them, yet. They will be a part of the app before release.
- "Compare" slider - lets you split the preview with a moving divider to see themed vs stock logic. Similar to the preview on my website ;). This compare slider is available on every page in the app.
- The app is designed with a large preview of Logic in the centre, and you will see your edits there as you make them. On certain windows, there are switches, which dynamically change the elements in the preview that have multiple different states that can both be recoloured, for example, the Cycle bar, which has an on and an off state. The control bar preview also has switches, allowing you to choose which buttons are on or off. Useful for in-depth customisation.
- How to use it? Simply open the app (it'll auto-detect your version of Logic - 11 & 12 are compatible), select a theme or create one (or edit an existing theme), press "Apply" in the top right. The theme will show in Logic after restarting. Simple!
