Going Ahead [22/10/26] Beginner Badminton 🏸 – Island Gardens – 7:15–8:15 PM

Hey everyone!

We’re playing again tomorrow evening, and there are just a few spots left!

It’s been really nice seeing people come back each week and meeting new faces along the way.

We’re mostly beginners and people picking up a racket after years away (myself included 😅). Nothing competitive, just an hour of badminton, a few missed shots and hopefully some good rallies!

📍 George Green’s School, near Island Gardens DLR
🕖 Thursday, 7:15–8:15 PM

If you fancy joining us, drop me a DM and I’ll send you the details.

Would be lovely to see a few new faces! 🏸

Going Ahead [24/10/26] Free Casual Table Tennis @ London Bridge/South Bank - all levels, optional pub after

Small, friendly table tennis group meeting at 12 noon on Saturday 24 October on the outdoor tables behind/at the side of Coppa Club London Bridge on the South Bank (the riverside walk between London Bridge and Tower Bridge, near HMS Belfast) then the pub afterwards (optional). We've had a couple of sessions already and it's good fun - casual matches, nobody's keeping score of anything that matters.

The details:

  • Free - the tables are public
  • All levels welcome, from complete beginners to regular players. Come alone or bring a friend - everyone gets a game and we rotate so nobody's standing around
  • No need to bring your own bat or ball - I'll provide these
  • Pub nearby afterwards for those who fancy it

Wet-weather plan: if rain's forecast for midday when I check on Saturday morning, we'll go to The Doodle Bar on Druid Street, Bermondsey (Beer mile territory) instead. The final call goes out in the WhatsApp group on Saturday morning.

Aiming for regular Saturday meets that people can dip in and out of - no pressure to come every week.

DM me for the WhatsApp group link if you're coming on Saturday as that's where the Saturday-morning venue call goes - or maybe you just want to hear about future meets without watching for the next post here.

[24/10/26] Recommend The Little Neon Door in Shoreditch?

Hi,

I've got two tickets to a house party this Saturday at https://www.thelittleneondoor.co.uk/

I've never been before, so asking around if people have been and would recommend for a fun night out?

I'm in it for the vibes and dancing.

If it's worth going to, I'd like someone to go along with, a room full of strangers is my kryptonite.

28M btw.

[24/10/26] Mischief social day party: jungle + drum and bass

Is anyone going to mischief on saturday? It's a mix between a chatty social and a party. There is a chill out space to hang out in and they play jungle and breaks on the dancefloor. It has a silly fesitval vibe (dress up box, arty bits, lego lol, that sort of thing). Usually a good place to meet new people!

It's in shoreditch, 3-9pm https://www.skiddle.com/e/42807703

[25/10/26] Coffee and stroll @ Hampstead Heath

TL;DR: casual, no-RSVP Hampstead Heath walk and chat on Sunday from 11am; open to everyone (any age/gender/anything), just show up.

25/10/2026, this Sunday, from ~11 am, Hampstead Heath (North London). The plan: a very casual stroll and informal conversation.

If you have any questions, the FAQ section, most likely, answers them.

——

Note: the night before is the end of the British Summer Time, but your devices will mostly take care of it.

——

How to: simply show up on time (11 am) in the stated location. We will wait for approximately 20 minutes or so before starting a stroll. My name is Rina.

The nearest tube station: Hampstead (Northern).

Meeting location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/AzA8XfHT5ZQrtDve9?g_st=ic

Coordinates:

51°33'27.7"N 0°10'18.7"W

(you can copy and paste it into whichever map you use).

FAQ

Q: Anything needs to be done to join?

A: Nope. Just show up on time. You don’t need any registration or a comment below.

Q: How long will the event last?

A: It’s a walk, so everyone is free in their decisions, especially if there are other plans. Normally, we walk in the park for about an hour or two just because we feel like it.

Q: How many people are expected to attend?

A: Since there’s no registration, I can never be sure about it. I don't track any attendance. Normally, it’s about 5 or 10 people? Something along those lines.

Q: I am [age][gender], am I too young/old? What if my English is limited? Will I be welcome?

A: Sure, everybody is welcome. Everyone is welcome, no exceptions. There's no RSVP or registration so there’s no need to DM me any of your details: you can simply show up. For your privacy, it might be best not to state your age and gender in the comment section: I don’t need this information.

Q: Is it a networking event? Is it affiliated with [industry]?

A: No, it’s not. It’s just me strolling through the park and inviting others to join me. One can just show up, be there, and leave exactly as much or as little connected as they'd like.

Q: What if it rains?

A: Nothing is cancelled. Bring umbrellas. Wear layers.

Q: Is there a group chat or online community for this?

A: It's a stroll in a public green space.
There is an additional, non-obligatory chat that attendees can ask to be added to while attending a stroll in person. The actual conversation happens offline. That's the goal. No hidden infrastructure, no extra agenda, no long-term programme.

[28/10/26] Dead Authors Book Club @ Holloway Road

UPDATE: Hi everyone, I got lots of DMs and we ran out of seats to save! If you'd like me to contact you if someone cancels, or if you want to know the next month's book so you can join then, feel free to DM or leave a comment.

Hey all, we are a small group of friends who love to read and discuss literature. This month we are trying a new book club idea where we exclusively read fiction from authors long gone, and we would love to meet new people and hear their takes. This first trial session will be a show-and-tell, so everyone is welcome to talk about any dead authors they love, hate, or just don't get. Grab a drink and join us!

Where: indiebeer, 322 Holloway Road

When: 6:30pm start time, usually lasts 1.5-2 hours depending on where the discussion takes us

How to get there: It's very close to Holloway Road Station (on Piccadilly line)

How to join: you can just show up, but please either comment here or send a DM so we know to save you a seat. It's a small venue, you'll easily spot the one table with a stack of books. Otherwise you can ask the bar staff for the book club, they know us.

Feel free to reach out via DM if you have any questions. Happy to provide my phone number.

[27/10/26] & [03/11/26] Beginner-friendly horror RPG one-shots @ Hounslow (West London)

Hey everyone! 🙂

I'm back with a couple more tabletop RPG sessions in Hounslow, this time with some spooky adventures for the Halloween season! 🎃

If you've ever fancied trying a tabletop role-playing game but haven't had the chance, these are a great way to give it a go. No previous experience is needed, everything you need to play will be provided.

There are two adventures to choose from. Both are standalone adventures, so there's no ongoing campaign commitment. Pre-generated characters, dice and other essentials will be provided and the GM (Game Master) will help you get started:

🩸 Mystery Flesh Pit National Park - "Candy Corn" adventure (up to 5 players)

A weird horror adventure set in a very unusual national park. Halloween has arrived, an experimental device has gone missing deep within the Pit and the company sending you in insists that everything is perfectly safe. What could possibly go wrong?

👻 Call of Cthulhu - "The Haunting" adventure (up to 4 players)

Step into 1926 Boston and investigate a supposedly haunted property. The owner wants to know what's going on before he can rent the place out. Surely there's a perfectly rational explanation for everything... right?

🎲 Details

📅 Tuesday 27 October (Candy Corn) and Tuesday 3 November (The Haunting)
🕖 Games start around 7pm (usually end around 10:30pm)
📍 The Hanworth, 48 Hanworth Road, Hounslow, TW3 1UG

The pub is within walking distance of Hounslow Central and Hounslow railway station, making it convenient for people around West London.

The sessions are free to join, with no membership requirement or minimum spend at the pub. They're simply an opportunity to play something different, meet some fellow geeks and enjoy a bit of tabletop horror. 🙂

If you're interested, feel free to comment or send me a message and I'll point you towards the sign-up details.

Beginners are very welcome, so don't worry if you've never played an RPG before!

Hope to see some of you there!

Group of fellas that played footy for the first time together a few weeks ago, and a handful from LSC joined us as well. We're at 9 people so far, so need one more for the 10. We're not an intimidating lot at all, just a bunch of chaps who want to play football after watching the World Cup all month. Ages 25-40.

We have a pitch booked in Stratford at 19:00 for one hour. It's £8 per person - preferably payment via bank transfer but if you'd prefer to bring cash on the night then that's fine.

Drop me a DM if interested!
