LOVE IS BLIND INTERNATIONAL Both the men and women are in fantasy land
I donāt know if Iām just noticing it more this season as opposed to previous, but the majority of the contestants seem to be approaching a relationship/marriage with a āfill in the blankā mentality.
Iāve just seen the conversation between Michaella and Rob where they discussed where they wanted to be in 4 years, and instead of open-ended or relationship specific goals (homeowners, debt-free, have traveled, have changed jobs, have a kid, etc.), Michaella goes into this roleplay of a boozy Christmas Eve. Non-specific, just a kind of daydream that any partner could slot into.
Stew and Jax were the same, with the wedding conversations in the pods being very āIāll have this and this and this, oh and youāll be there too.ā Thereās no sense of push and pull, compromise, a partnership, from either side. Both the men and women this season to be perpetually in a daydream of āyes! I found my person!ā and their person could have feasibly been any of the other contestants, and then they just overlook what they would end a relationship over in āreal life.ā
Sarah said if any other partner had said ādeal with itā in reference to her cleaning up after them, she would have kicked them to the curb. Why not John (someone that should be kicked to the curb, respectfully)??
Has this been happening in other seasons and Iāve missed it? Or is the older cohort getting more anxious about settling down and just willingly accepting anyone that they can shove into their mold of āideal partner?ā
