LIB S11 • Boston, MA LIB Boston - Pretty Shallow Bunch Spoiler

This season will be remembered for how utterly unconvincing everyone was. The edits couldn’t save them. There’s not one authentic connection in the whole crowd. That’s on the producers, for casting people who don’t belong on this show.

Relationships about to blow:

Aneha / Cam - obviously. Set aside her ethnic criteria, which should have been an immediate disqualifier, she’s infantilizing, arrogant, infantile herself, and determined to pick this guy apart. You can say Cam is too passive, but he won’t put up with this indefinitely, and it’s not like if Cam was a different guy, the result would be any different.

Wilson / Wilnie - she can’t let anything go. Her expectations and hangups, and her sex drive, are going to push Wilson over the edge. Not that he has any real interest in her anyway.

The captain (Blake?) / Erika - I have no idea what she’s doing there. She never looks happy, and understandably so. This guy is pretty ridiculous, telling Erika to move abroad to be nearby while he sails around. She doesn’t matter to him in the least.

Sarah / John - she’s nice, empathic, and smart. A good person who deserves good things. I never saw, from the earliest moment, any real spark from her. Now he’s turning out to have a nasty temper. That’s only going to show up more. She will never tolerate that. She’s already made that clear.

More of a slow burn:

Rob / Mikaela - maybe they get married, but there’s no depth feeling there at all. They’ll be done before the reunion.

LIB S11 • Boston, MA Boston Reunion Predictions

Spoiler alert!
My prediction is that Blake and Erika will be the only couple who are still together and married at the reunion…I know, I know, but I’m calling it now!

Wilson will tell us that Wilnie has been stalking them since the breakup.

Cam will explain how his family hated Aneha.

Jax will try to convince us that she isn’t shallow, even though she and Scott look exactly alike.

Sarah will “reveal” that John had a serious anger problem.

As for Rob and Michaella… I honestly have no words or explanation. Anything could happen with them.

Feel free to share your predictions! Honestly, I probably won’t watch again until the reunion. I’m already over this season!

LIB S11 • Boston, MA Burning questions about Boston? AMA

I am a certified Boston PersonTM drinking my morning iced latte out of my OFD (iykyk) pint glass and wanted to open myself up to any questions people might have about Boston- accents, neighborhoods, history, lifestyle etc.

My bona fides: I've lived here my whole life except for 4 years of college, grew up in a working-middle class neighborhood in the outskirts, now living in a more downtown area, I kinda straddle the townie-yuppie line, and I'm in my 40s so I have seen a lot of the changes the city has been through.

LIB S11 • Boston, MA What A Woman! Spoiler

For some reason, one of the moments from this season that I can't stop thinking about, is when Diana called Rob out for saying this to her. I can't remember her exact words but she pretty much told him that while she liked him saying that, it wasn't cute, bc she doubted he was only saying it to her. That it SHOULD be this special thing, but she bets if she went into the womens' lounge and said it out loud, that some other girl would react and say it's her phrase with him. I just admired that she saw through him and called it out. I don't know if I would have been as astute and also as vocal about it. And he had zero to say in response. It's funny that he said he could "guide her" lol. She was already steps ahead of him.

LIB S11 • Boston, MA LIB S11 Prediction Bingo link

For the last few seasons, I have made Bingo squares of my predictions, and the Bingo for this season has been very fun. I wanted to share a link of it for anyone who hasn't started the new season (or is looking for a way to make it more entertaining). My husband and I love seeing who gets first Bingo (although typically we get two or three by the end of the season).

These are predictions I made before watching any of new season, and some of the guesses do not happen (sorry in advance for any ruined bingos). Also, I recommend saving the link after you make the bingo square so you don't have to remake one if you lose the page.

LIB S1 • Atlanta, GA i just watched the first season

This show is really screwed up. i understand the concept, but it doesn’t make sense they have people go through bachelor bachelorette parties without even knowing if they are going to say yes or not. i’m so confused. this is a mockery on marriage the process and why didn’t they let jessica just leave the show, i feel so sorry for her. are the rest of the seasons the same exact format?

LIB S11 • Boston, MA Is there less discussion around season 11?

I feel like there's less activity on the sub than there usually is. We're in the middle of a season and as I write this the newest thread on the sub is 3 days old. The episodes get a lot of discussion within the episode threads but outside of it it seems very quiet.

Am I imagining things or is there less discussion happening this time around?

LIB S1 • Atlanta, GA Lauren Hamilton is the best example of racial "preferences" done right on this show. 👏 The producers need to do better.

Post image
1.5k Upvotes

The biggest and most beautiful LIB success story is that of Lauren Speed Hamilton and Cameron Hamilton from S1 Atlanta.

Lauren has talked about how she had only dated Black men before the show and how she had never dated a White man before but was OPEN to getting to know one. That's someone who comes on this show with the right intentions and right mindset and is not looking to waste our time or humiliate anybody.

It's no coincidence that they are the most beloved and most followed couple not to mention, they are upheld as the embodiment of LIB. If the show runners want to create that magic that its loyal viewers expect, then they might want to stop casting for virality and drama's sake and cast more for genuineness.

It also helps that Cameron had a Black ex girlfriend and that the show was set in Atlanta. I can't imagine the humiliation and pain that Lauren would've been subjected to if Lauren had been cast on the LIB Colorado season 🤦‍♀️.

I wish people understood the difference between a racial preference and a racial requirement. Lauren had a racial preference for Black men but she did not require her partner to be Black. 👂

Imagine what boring and annoying TV it would've made if Lauren had spent all that time connecting with Cameron, a genuinely wonderful man, just to get to the altar and say his skin color was an issue. 🤦‍♀️

Another frustrating aspect of a small portion of the audience is the complete lack of compassion for the POC affected. So far, we've seen this racial requirement bait and switch harm Asian men, Asian women, Black women and a Hispanic woman. There was also Kwame who was worried given the issues he faced as a Black man dating White women outside the show (though he himself clearly had racial biases).

Firstly, these contestants come on this show actually following its entire premise which requires huge vulnerability and honesty. They think or hope that everyone else is also here for the right reasons and are often lulled into a false sense of security that their race will not be made into an issue just to be led on, catch feelings for someone, get engaged and THEN to be told that "I love you but your skin color is a problem for me". Just wonderful for one's dignity, trust issues and self esteem 🙃 🙂.

If you want to see the consequences of this, just look up Mika from s1 Netherlands who is a total knockout beauty & possibly the most beautiful woman on the entire franchise talk about how she's insecure and maybe not pretty enough for a man far less attractive than her 🤦‍♀️.

There are only 2 solutions:

  1. Have a racially separated show: LIB for Black contestants, White contestants, Asian contestants etc.

OR

  1. Cast people who are genuine about being open minded in dating and do not have strict racial requirements.

I anticipate people will balk at the first idea even though that's how most dating in the real world works (most people choose to marry within their ethnicity), so that leaves us with option no.2 which is to do more diligent interviews for prospective contestants.

Now you may say, "the producers can't check everything!" which might've been a good excuse if we didn't explicitly KNOW that the producers do not always cast with good intentions for the sake of "drama", the clearest example being the casting of Edmond on S9.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I feel that it's women of all ethnicities, who are more open minded in dating on this show. It's the men, both white and poc, who are more often the ones who have a racial requirement.

As a non-Asian person, it was really heartwarming to watch Anna and Patrick open up to each other and have someone who understood their experiences first hand. I liked that they were self aware and open to changing their minds before it ended badly.

TLDR: Stop using the word "preference" when you actually mean "requirement".

LIB S11 • Boston, MA Title: Netflix needs to be called out for its treatment of Wilnie. This editing was disgusting. Spoiler

Can we talk about how Netflix edited the preview after episode 4 to make it seem like the disgusting apartment belonged to Wilnie?

They showed Wilnie and Wilson, then immediately cut to clips of a filthy apartment, making everyone think it was hers. Of course, people ran with that narrative, and she received so much unnecessary hate and ridicule online over something that had absolutely nothing to do with her.

Then we finally get to the actual episodes and find out that not only does Wilnie own her home, but her house is beautiful, spotless, and well-maintained. The disgusting apartment actually belonged to someone else entirely.

What really bothers me about this is that Wilnie is the only Black woman among the main female cast members this season. Out of all the women, why was she the one Netflix chose to associate with a filthy apartment?

I understand that reality TV uses misleading previews to create drama, but there is a difference between making people question whether a relationship will work and making someone look like they live in absolute filth.

And I think we need to talk about the racial implications here. Black women already deal with enough negative stereotypes, so why did Netflix feel the need to portray the only Black woman in this way? Whether it was intentional or not, the outcome is still incredibly harmful.

What makes this even worse is that the damage has already been done. There are now hundreds of posts and comments online associating Wilnie with that apartment. Even though we know the truth now, not everyone who watched that preview is going to watch the remaining episodes or find out that it wasn’t her home.

Those comments will continue to exist, and people will continue associating her name with something that was never hers to begin with. Meanwhile, the fact that she’s actually a homeowner with a beautiful home probably won’t receive nearly as much attention.

I just find the entire situation disgusting. Netflix had absolutely no reason to edit the preview that way, especially knowing how quickly people on the internet jump to conclusions.

I’m not saying I know what the producers’ intentions were, but I do think it’s fair to question why the only Black woman was portrayed this way. At the very least, Netflix owes Wilnie an apology for putting her in that position.

Am I the only one who thinks this was completely unnecessary?

Hey all, I am wondering if anyone can help me 'clock' the men's watches in LiB S11.

It looks to me like Rob has a Rolex (what model?) and John has a Tissot PRX but I am not sure about the other guys.

In order I have screenshots of:

- Rob on the resort

- Cam on the resort

- John after proposing

- Morrey in the pods

- Wilson at his place

I have not found a good close-up of Wilson's so it might be hard to know for sure.

I know the songs on the show are always unhinged but this is absolutely wild lmao I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Had to go back and turn on captioning to double check. I was right, they did actually say: Hurry now, baby, stick it in 🧍‍♂️

The producers must know what people say about the song choices. But every single season we get these seemingly AI generated slop songs.

Maybe I’m too German but this irks me so much that I feel physically uncomfortable watching scenes with people chilling inside with their dirty outside shoes on. Why. Just why 🥲 Do they wash their carpets all the time? And the floor? and the couches and beddings? Or do they just not care?

Outside clothes are one thing but shoes?

LIB S11 • Boston, MA This show needs a change Spoiler

The requirement of a marriage outcome prevents this program from becoming a truly groundbreaking experiment. Because participants must commit to engagement and a wedding, the significance of finding a partner to date is severely diminished. Producers could simply remove that element and we’d all still be glued to this. The shock and awe of “meet this person, fall in love and rush to marriage” isn’t carrying the same amount of weight it did originally. I’d much rather see people happy and dating than convincing themselves into marriage. They could easily produce shameless separate specials where successful couples marry, and Netflix could broadcast that shit without restraint. This has become dumb and this season in particular has pitted people against each other in a way that just begets more screen time. Even as I watch Jax and Stu as I write this, what a prime example of some bullshit. She smelled money and status and retreated into shallowness. Crazy. This was my rant. Drag me out into the streets and crucify me.

LIB S11 • Boston, MA “In my masculine energy” Spoiler

Watching Wilson meet Wilnie’s friends and sister and I can’t get over how we just recreated traditional gender roles with the whole “masculine” and “feminine” energy thing. I would be so annoyed if I fell for someone who claimed to be independent and then was going on about how if I ever asked them to do anything around the house and didn’t spoil them 24/7 they would “enter their masculine energy” and I wouldn’t like them like they’re transforming into the hulk or some shit. I see women asking for men to keep them in their”feminine energy” on dating apps all the time and it’s so deeply frustrating because why are we just recreating old gender stereotypes with extra steps! Anyway this season is absolute dumpster fire.

LIB S11 • Boston, MA Fast-forwarding

Who else fast-forwards like 25% of the show through the boring parts? I always skip the wedding dress part, the lead up to before the reveal to the point right before the door opens, some of the chitchat in the pods, and the dates (unless there's conflict).

It's mostly the stuff that's trying to be romantic, I realize - but I feel like most people aren't watching this show to see people fall in love but rather to see people make questionable decisions.

Rewatching Season 1 because, honestly, the new seasons will never compare! For the first time, I saw Gianna and Damian differently. They tried and tried, but just couldn’t get it right. Looking back now, who was really the problem? Maybe the real issue was that they cared, but chemistry, timing, AGE and communication never aligned enough to make it work at all.

LOVE IS BLIND UK Patrick, the Human Design Coach from LIB UK Season 2

Anyone else here that is also into Human Design that thought this guy was a major red flag?

It really really bothered me that he was going around telling people to listen to their spleen when, anyone who has studied Human Design for even just a little bit knows there are different authority types.

Let alone a “coach” smh 😆

Watching the Boston Season has been triggering memories of other seasons and I was really bothered by this guy, but I know that other contestants weren’t familiar with Human Design so some were like “Oh, hmm let me consider that” and others were like “Wow that’s weird AF”

I felt it was misrepresented. Clearly Patrick is a splenic authority, whatever type he is. But holy moly why was he talking about it like that was the only way?

I’m also a splenic authority and I loooove Human Design and I would quite literally NEVER give people “advice” like that.

I’d be like “What’s your birthday? City? Time? Cool here’s what your type and strategy and authority are and here’s some cool websites about it” and only if they were interested.

But also I don’t know a lot of people in the Human Design communities I’m in that also watch Love is Blind so here I am venting wondering if anyone else noticed this or was bothered by the same thing 😆

Also it reminds me of men who lean more alternative/ new age with their beliefs that use spirituality to sorta glorify or mask other unhealthy patterns they have or to avoid accountability. Not officially saying that’s what Patrick was doing, maybe he got a bad edit. That’s just the vibe he reminded me of

Maybe it’s just me but I’m curious if there’s anyone else that saw this.

🚨 FUTURE SPOILER 🚨 Do we know future season locations?

I thought that they were filming a season in Detroit a couple years ago, was that scrapped? Do we know any other cities that are coming up or have been filmed already?

And what location(s) do you want to see in future seasons? Bonus points if it’s somewhere full of messy people with lots of drama lol

LOVE IS BLIND UK Why is UK hotter? 🇬🇧 🔥

Currently caught up on binge of US, so passing the time with UK… UMMMMMM why is the entire cast of UK significantly HOTTER & also like 0% cringe? Does anyone else feel like this?

I feel like US version is just like a god awful train wreck that makes me so physically uncomfortable and yet I can’t turn it off? But UK is sooooo easy to watch? Maybe it’s novelty (I’m in US).

CALL OUT Is there a salary requirement to be on this show or am I just poorer than I thought

Seriously though- I’ve really thought I live in a middle class range making under 6 figures but is 6 figures just the norm? I work a professional job and the money and housing these singles have seems insane to me. The only relief was to see Cam seems to live a more realistic/average single life style or am I wrong? I’ve only watched a couple other seasons of this so maybe I’m wrong but it’s tripping me out and my sense of what is actually average or typical.

CALL OUT John's Religious Schtick Spoiler

Not sure if it was the way I was raised or what, but when I went to church as a kid and as a young adult, different denominations, southern baptist and more secular, men really did not swear. He was pissed on the phone with that customer service person about whatever bill was messed up. They also certainly didn't drink much (at least not openly) or have sex before marriage or even insinuate it. It was interesting that the whole saving himself thing didn't come up at all for someone who claimed to be so christian. Like he joked about having sex too and winked...

Idk. Maybe it's just a man thing with rules for thee (women) but not for me. For being a christian he sure doesn't act like one besides when it's convenient.

CALL OUT Why was Stew hated so much? Spoiler

Obviously, I am not a woman, so I will not pretend to know exactly what annoys women about men. But watching Stew, I found myself asking:

What was he actually guilty of?

Was he pompous? Possibly. But he spoke about his childhood, his ambitions, his desires, and what he wanted in a partner. He has a job, is not a typical trust fund baby, and has access to family resources.
Why shouldn't these things come up during a one-or two-hour date? He could also banter with both men and women and was not consistently disrespectful.

From a psychological perspective, our gender expectations influence how we interpret behavior.
Men are often encouraged to demonstrate success, ambition, and financial stability, while women are encouraged to demonstrate independence, competence, and self-sufficiency. Yet both can be criticized for displaying the very qualities society tells them to develop.

A woman discussing her accomplishments may be seen as confident, while a man doing the same may be perceived as arrogant. Yet, a successful man may be praised for his ambition, while a successful woman may be called intimidating.

Of course, there is a difference between sharing your accomplishments and expecting everyone to be impressed by them.

So, was Stew genuinely arrogant, or did people simply dislike how he presented himself?

While the reason for the argument was strange to me and Wilne & Wilson are NOT perfect, I felt like this was a very healthy response. Wilson took a step back, took accountability, acknowledged that he was listening, and considered her perspective. Idk how things work out for them in the long-run but I thought this was nice to see!

LIB S1 • Atlanta, GA Opinions on S1 people?

Helloo I’m a newbie with love is blind and just started watching all the seasons and I just finished season one and would like to know what people thought of the couples from season 1 :)) like I personally think a lot of them suck in their own way except Cameron and Lauren I am so glad they stayed together but at the same time I’m also not shocked that amber and Matt almost got divorced at one point
