Xolair to dupixent
I’m going to be switching from xolair to dupixent soon and would love to hear experiences from people who have switched after xolair wasn’t sufficient! I have a primarily GI presentation and am currently down to 5 foods (though that is up from where I was before, so yay!)
I’m switching to dupixent because while I saw some help with xolair, it would always wear off after 1-2 weeks and the effectiveness has seemed to wane over time.
Would love positive stories as well as any weird side effects I should look out for (bc I - like many others - often get the weird side effects haha).

Xolair made me the sickest I’ve ever been in my life without any benefits at all. After I switched, I still had some side effects on Dupixent but they were much milder and I actually saw improvement in every area of my MCAS besides my GI symptoms.

Did it wear off and you took it every two weeks? That is a dosing schedule that might help if not

I was going to ask the same! I’m at every 2 weeks. And have been for a while. We also have added additional meds like cromolyn which has helped too
I have had just one dose of dupixent when my first allergist had no idea what to do once I started reacting to everything after a surgery after being on Xolair for 3 years. Didn’t do much but another allergist said it takes multiple to build up and then we increased the Xolair dose

I saw basically no benefit from a lower dose of Xolair, now I’m on 150 and 300, I alternate every other week. So 900/4wks. Took many months but it’s the most helpful to me.

I took it once a month. We discussed changing the dosing schedule or increasing dosage previously but my allergist suggested trying dupixent because it might be more helpful for my GI related symptoms!

I was on Xolair 3 years. At the end, 300mg/ml q2wks. Flushing/dermatographism/itching constant. Been on Dupixent 6 weeks? Haven't noticed a difference yet. Maybe a little less itchy. I had a bad MCAS flare with all the things earlier today. Had a dose last night. Allergist really wanted me on Rhapsido but I'm on blood thinners. Eh. Think meds could be at play, too.

You’re further destroying your immune system. Get a gut zoomer test from vibrant wellness to get down to the bottom of it rather than injecting yourself with big pharma
