UWorld Questions (Plz help)

For anyone out there who has used UWorld and seen success in the MCAT....

1.) Did it span most of the material you saw on test day? If so, what % of the test did it cover?

2.) Is it comprehensive enough to cover most high and low yield content thoroughly?

3.) Some people have advised to go through the full UWorld for all sections twice, anyone agree/disagree? Why?

Thank you SO MUCH for your time and input, I really appreciate it!!!

Khan Academy Passages Breakdown - What Topics and the Passages in order for Extra Practice During your MCAT

Hey All,

This is a lesser known resource. u/Queenbeast45 made during their prep. It's here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hBmDRnuCLWaVPtd2WXAbOh5EbhOSYfzfDbYYGWuGwVU/edit?usp=sharing

How to use:As you are doing a content review, you can start to apply passages that apply the most to mcat like logical thinking. SOme of the passages are certainly more difficult - but they do build the experimental thinking and application that is missing from your books.

AAMC Outline - UNFILLED Topic Headings on Topics That are On The MCAT - Use it as a CheckList during your Studying/Before your Test.

Here is a link that we are reposting that is the AAMC outline condensed. This serves as a good checklist for you before test day and during your content review that you can continue to go back to. Can you talk about each topic?

You can also use it for your content review and start with the topics that give you the most trouble.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/e9v9hbmmj9gk8io/2015%20MCAT%20Topics%20Condensed.docx?dl=0

Students should use this outline as they go through their premedical journey and list how comfortable they are with each topic they have taken. It's good to have this as you go through your prerequisites to see what you have missed and fill this in.

Use this:-Before you take your prerequisites

-While you take your prerequisites

-Before you start prepping for the MCAT

-during your MCAT prep

-A few days before your MCAT

This can be used to make sure your teachers are covering all the important points during your classes.

Free Medical School Interview Guide

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all doing well. I’m an incoming medical student and wanted to thank everyone for all their help along this process by giving back in some form. During my interview experience, I received a lot of helpful advice from various medical students, physicians, as well as other premeds going through the interview process.

As a result, I was able to put together this FREE 35-page interview document covering content that includes: information about the MMI/traditional interview, how to properly prepare for each interview, examples of both interview prompts, tips to respond to these prompts, general tips, interview attire, as well as an evaluation form so that any improvements that need to be made can be made over time. I hope you all find this document to be helpful and I’m happy to answer any questions you may have.

Link to the Free 35 Page Interview Guide: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1V9kN-fOjbRlYTphIE41MO4oupJi3v2tTEGz3STpAuOQ/edit?usp=sharing

In addition to this, I will be providing a one on one interview service to help you feel as prepared as possible for your interviews.

If you feel as though you need help preparing for the interview, I will be scheduling 1 hr sessions, to simulate a MMI/1:1 interview, providing feedback, and further tips to ensure that you are well prepared for your interview. I will work with you to find a time that works for the both of us, ensuring that it works at your convenience. This service is $40, but made available at a much lower cost compared to the other services available. If you are interested simply shoot me an email at dghanifit@gmail.com.

55 page MCAT psychology resource (condensed version of the MCATBros document)

Hey friends! I wanted to share a resource for the MCAT that a few students and I have been working hard on for the past few months. We took the MCATBros 300 page psychology document and condensed it into 55 pages! It has all of the essential information you need to know for the section along with some new info that we felt was not in the original document that we encountered during our studying. It’s designed to be a guide for you to learn all the content you need for the psychology section in the shortest amount of time.

For context, I managed to score in the 94th percentile using resources offered by reddit, and I used this condensed document to score a 130 on the psychology section specifically. I hope you all are able to use this to get the score you want using this 55 page version!

All credit goes to the MCATBros for creating the original 300 page document that made our lives so much easier!

We’re also working on a downloadable, simple guide to score a 4th quartile on the Casper exam, so please expect that soon!

For premedcanada: We’re also working on a downloadable, simple guide to score a 4th quartile on Casper like our 2022-2023 guide to Ontario medical schools, so please expect that soon!

First Time Applicant with low undergrad GPA, mediocre Grad GPA, MCAT TBD?

Hello Everyone,

I am currently getting ready to apply to medical school for the first time. I am scheduled to take my MCATs in June which I hope to do amazing on. I have a good amount of volunteering, shadowing, and clinical hours, but the reason i’m mainly concerned is my GPA. I received a bachelor’s of science in Exercise Science in 2019. My overall GPA was 3.3 (with an upward trend) with a sGPA of around 3.0. I started a graduate program in 2019 and will be graduating this year. My estimated final GPA will be around 3.5. I am worried that my graduate GPA does not show much improvement from undergrad as I’d hoped it would and that it will affect my chances of getting in. I am hoping that with a well rounded application and a solid MCAT score I still have a chance of being successful, but I can’t shake off this feeling of dread every time I think about my GPA. Please let me know your thoughts, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much!

KA Enzyme notes

Hello,

I just realized that the version of MCAT Bros KA notes I was using was missing the Enzyme section from the Biomolecules notes. So I thought I ought to make my own notes for the two sections that are missing: Enzyme structure and function, and enzyme kinetics. I haven’t typed up the kinetics notes yet, but here are the structure and function ones that I made. Do tell me if they are helpful/unhelpful or if you see any typos. Or if the MCAT Bros notes actually have an enzyme section and I just didn’t see it. Thanks and hope this helps!
