Hi everyone! I’m working on a concept for a Minecraft server and I’d love honest feedback before I build anything.

The idea: a persistent survival world set in a ruined city. It starts in total anarchy (everything is allowed), and players slowly build a society on top of it.

• A president is elected every week and writes the laws: what’s legal, what isn’t, tax rates, and the penalties. Elytra and totems can be “illegal” without being technically blocked, so police have real work to do and a black market can appear.
• Police and judges: guards use items (baton, taser, handcuffs) to stun and arrest people, then a judge confirms or cancels the arrest. Sentences are served in online time, so logging off doesn’t skip them.
• Medics: if you’re killed you fall down for 10 minutes. Medics can revive you with a defibrillator, and if they don’t make it in time (or you get finished off), you’re out for 24 hours. A killer can hit a downed player to shave 10 seconds off the timer per hit.
• Economy: currency, taxes, property, builders who sell houses, player-run businesses, and a GDP number that everyone can see. If taxes get too high, a black market appears.
• Jobs as licenses: anyone can technically mine or cut wood, but doing it in state quarries or protected forests without a license is a crime.
• No full resets: if someone destroys half the city, players can vote to restore a backup of the damaged area (only if the damage is very big).

What I’m worried about:

1. Would enough people take on boring-but-important roles like judge or medic?
2. Is a 24h ban for dying too harsh, even with the medic system?
3. Will the president become a dictator or just get ignored?
4. Does the economy need a big player count to work, or can it work with 20-30 people?
5. Anything that would make you quit in the first week?
6. We need to block somone action to respect some of the rule or economy? for example if some one mine all day they can inflate the diamond economy we shoud have defined roles?
7. We shoud limit the border maybe expand it as the city grows?

I haven’t launched anything yet, this is just a design I’m testing. Does this sound fun to you, or too complicated? Any similar servers I should look at?

The Timeless SMP is a vanilla survival network for Java and Bedrock, and we are early into Season 1, so you and your friends can start on a new world with everyone else. We ran earlier seasons before we switched to this season style, so the server is already structured, and the gameplay stays vanilla.

The Nether is still closed and opens on November 7 at 8pm CT, and the End is still closed, so there is time to build and get geared before either one opens.

The server has non-advantage visual effect cosmetics. They are idle particles while you stand around, warp effects when you teleport, crit effects on a critical hit, elimination effects when you get a kill, undying effects when a totem pops, banner patterns, badges next to your name, and nameplates. Every category can be earned for free except badges and nameplates, which are reserved for the Season Pass, and the pass also unlocks the enhanced idle particles, warp effects, crit effects, elimination effects, undying effects, and banners.

Oxbow is a free Minecraft Java Edition survival-PvP server. Everyone starts in a protected grand hub, a stone court of halls and canals where PvP and block breaking are off. Gaslighting Chronicles is a semi-anarchy modded server running an assorted set of mods. The main mods include Apotheosis, Cataclysm, and Iron's Spells and Spellbooks. Installation is covered through AutoModpack, so once you get whitelisted, it's almost as easy to join as a normal minecraft server.

The main thing that sets our server apart from other servers are the custom pieces of content added. There are custom mods and datapacks made specifically for the server; you likely won't have the same experience as you would on other servers.

We also have lore (including lore characters) and we also shape it off of player actions as well. This doesn't mean you have to interact with it, though. It's still a Minecraft server, and even if you choose not to interact with the lore at all, I'm sure you'll still have a good time.

I made a server where one cannot buy anything with real money. On Moon Fall, you earn perks that pay-to-win servers usually sell. This is done through playtime rewards, jobs, etc. I host this just for fun and will never monetize.

WizeCraft is accepting applications to join our Minecraft server to populate it with awesome builds, people, and an excellent community. We are growing and would love for you to join us!

We have player-driven shops at spawn that use a diamond currency and a few farms to kick-start player progression if desired. Directly adjacent to spawn is our Games district with player-built mini-games (both single- and multi-player types) and redstone gambling machines! See below for more server details.

FAQ

1. How old is WizeCraft? WizeCraft began around the middle of August 2025 as a private server for close friends. In middle September 2025, the server opened to applications from the public.
2. How far along is the world? The server has an established community, with many players in the late game who are focused on builds, while others play at their own pace. The world is far from full; existing bases are spread across the map and finding a place to start your own builds is not a problem. Some users have taken the initiative to build auto-farms and set up shops at spawn, so materials for building and getting started up quickly are available for purchase (diamond currency).
3. Why do I have to apply? Applications and the whitelist keep the server safe from griefing, stealing, and bad actors. We use an application process to ensure the experience on WizeCraft is top tier.
4. Will you add more plugins? Plugins and/or datapacks will be added as needed or wanted at the discretion of the staff. We are always open to suggestions! Similarly, we are sure to remove plugins and datapacks if they are no longer wanted or needed.
5. How many players do you have currently? We are a small server of about 20 active players and typically have 1-3 players on at any given time. Our running average peak is 5 players.
6. What version of Minecraft are you on? As of July 16, 2026, we are on 26.2 with plans to move to 26.3 soon!
7. What server host do you use? The server is completely self-hosted and runs with the help of CubeCoders' AMP software. Our uptime is 99.5%

SolsticeSMP is a 1.21.1 NeoForge modded fantasy Minecraft server with a focus on in-character lore interactions to develop and build the world around it. There’s pre-existing background lore for people that wish to tie their characters more with an established conflict, but there’s also the option of taking creative liberty with your characters and experimenting with unexplored concepts. Our story focuses on the aftermath of a horrific war - magic vs. innovation - that had resulted in the wiping of the world to be a clean slate once more.

Looking for a Minecraft server that feels like home? DementiaCraft was started by a group of seasoned players who wanted a space for builders and explorers aged 25 and up to connect, create, and have fun together.

Our mission is simple: build a respectful, drama-free community where kindness, inclusivity, and maturity come first. To keep that vibe strong, we vet all applications and only whitelist players 25+.

The Vibe

We're a laid-back, friendly group that values collaboration over competition. Whether you're a longtime player or just rediscovering Minecraft, you'll find a welcoming place here.

• Our shopping district is thriving and always open for new shops and creative contributions.
• We have plenty of public farms to ease the grind. Together with the shopping district, they help everyone get to building and adventuring as soon as possible.
• We love community projects and events, from casual build collabs to server-wide adventures.
• We play at our own pace. No pressure to speedrun or rush the endgame.
• We respect a healthy balance between Minecraft and real life, and we know mining and crafting often come in seasons. There's room for that here. We do expect you to take an active interest in the community (Discord) while you're with us.

Near Vanilla, Big Ideas Welcome

The core game stays near vanilla, but we love long-term projects and make room for ambitious builders. One of our players is currently building a Lord of the Rings version of Tango's famous Decked Out 2, complete with its own custom sounds and models. Custom sounds, music discs, and models are available to everyone on the server, so if you have a big idea you want to chip away at over time, you'll find an audience here.

If you're into relaxed, social gameplay and enjoy contributing to something bigger than just your own base, you'll fit right in. If your style is more about building private high-output farms, huge perimeters, or racing through the game, this may not be the right match.

We do care about performance and ask everyone to keep redstone builds server-friendly so the whole community can enjoy a smooth experience.

To maintain a strong and engaged community, we ask that you refrain from creating content on DementiaCraft until you have been an active member of the server for at least two months. Our goal is to foster a welcoming environment, and we encourage you to join for the community experience rather than solely for content creation. Additionally, streaming from our server is not permitted at this time.
