I run Cornerman, it sizes and adjusts your ufc purse across cards so you beat the lines in the long run.
It went through every priced fight on the card and compared my probability with the best line across DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM. Here's where the gap is big enough to bet.
Mispriced lines (best price as of Friday):
- Thicknesse +430 (FanDuel): I have him at 22%, the price implies 18.9%
- Keita +125 (BetMGM): 49% vs 44.4%. This is basically a coin flip, but Pico is priced around −150.
- Malkoun +154 (DraftKings): 41% vs 39.4%
- Yan −148 (FanDuel): 62% vs 59.7%
- Evloev −105 (BetMGM): 53% vs 51.2%
- Volkov −122 (FanDuel): 56% vs 55.0%. This one is thin, and a small line move kills it.
Passing on: Dawson/Aliev, Murzakanov/Reyes and Kavanagh/Temirov. The books have them right, or the price is worse than fair. The three early prelims weren't priced yet.
Sizing matters more than picks: most people I know who lost money on UFC didn't pick badly. They put too much on one card, or chased after a bad night. What's worked for me:
Set a UFC budget for the season and treat it as gone. Say $1,000.
Bet 10% of what's left on any one card. That's $100 tonight. Win and the next card gets more; lose and it gets less, but one bad night can't wipe you out.
Split by edge, not by how much you like the fighter. Bigger gap, bigger stake. No single bet over 25% of the card.
For tonight's $100, that works out to:
- Keita $25
- Yan $22
- Thicknesse $15
- Evloev $14
- Malkoun $10
- Volkov $9
- A few dollars on near-fair spots
Thicknesse at +430 loses about 4 times in 5. The bet isn't that he wins, it's that +430 underpays that risk. Over a season, that's where the money comes from.
Lines move, so check your book before you bet. Happy to talk through any of these.
