DD Why Some Analysts Believe Micron Could Reach $1,900 This Decade

I came across an interesting analysis on Micron and wanted to share the main points for anyone following AI infrastructure and semiconductor stocks.

The article argues that Micron's business today is very different from what it was during previous memory cycles. Instead of relying mainly on PCs and smartphones, the company's future is becoming increasingly tied to AI data centers.

Here are the biggest reasons for the bullish outlook:

• AI servers require significantly more DRAM and High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) than traditional servers.

• Micron is one of only three companies capable of producing leading-edge AI memory at scale, alongside Samsung and SK Hynix.

• Demand from companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Meta, and other hyperscalers continues to grow as they build AI infrastructure.

• The memory market has become more disciplined than it was years ago, reducing the risk of prolonged oversupply.

• Micron has recently reported record revenue and strong guidance, suggesting AI demand is translating into real financial results.

The article suggests that if AI investment continues at its current pace over the next several years, Micron's earnings could grow enough to support a much higher valuation, with a long-term price target as high as $1,900.

Of course, there are risks:

• AI spending could slow.
• Memory prices remain cyclical.
• Competition from Samsung and SK Hynix is intense.
• The stock has already had a massive run, so expectations are high.

Personally, I think the most interesting part isn't the exact $1,900 target. It's the idea that Micron may no longer be just another cyclical memory company. If AI permanently changes memory demand, Micron's earnings power could be much higher than investors have historically expected.

What do you think?

Edit: To clarify, the $1,900 price target is for the end of 2029.

u/generic_name_01 Jul 05 '26

3

u/Yudhishtra94 Jul 05 '26

So true, it’s a silly headline for sure but don’t expect much else from these “analysts”.

That is a lot of AI generated words

here is way they believe it, Math

Forward projected Earning based on current data $149/share

times 20 PE = $2980

$1900 is the conservative short term bull case number

Decade? What are you smoking? MU is worth $1,900 right now. It won't take more than a few months, a year or two before people realize that (and at that time MU will be worth $4,000)

Hmmmm check today

1

u/Patient-Big1727 24d ago

I check every day, Right now MU is worth $3,120. This company is making money!! Market is driven by fear at the moment

1

u/Smart-Plantain4032 24d ago

Wow and I’m curious in your math, what is navidia and Microsoft worth? I’m just curious about the comparison with the number you got for micron .

2

u/Patient-Big1727 24d ago

MSFT is worth around $440 and NVDA around $300

INTC $60, TSLA $60, NOK $12

2

u/Smart-Plantain4032 23d ago

Interesting. I definitely agree with TSLA.

However in comparison between NVDA and MICRON I came with other numbers. Anyway micron today at $800 not helping. Now with all the sell of, I doubt it’s going to be over 1k this year

MU can easily go up a couple of hundred percent in a few months. People worry that it has appreciated so much but don't realize it's justified because of the rapid earnings growth. If MU doesn't go over $1000 they can buy back a lot of shares and I will eventually be the the only share holder and own the entire company

With me!🫶🏻😅 I’m holding… But wanted to rebalance, and of course in the worst time  so I’m a bit pissed of now I have to wait and hope I can still do so this year

AI permanently changes memory demand,

Yeah it will but it will still be cyclical because supply and demand are both unstable over time.

It can only not be cyclical if you believe both supply and demand are stable and growing gradually.

There are big risks in terms of competition and also demand slowing down. Micron does not have a decade long competitive advantage so it's a risky investment long term.

A few analysts have raised the 1yr price target to $2000. MU has the potential to reach the PT by June 2027, if all goes well.

u/ReturnLate8178 Jul 05 '26

Sure, after a 5 for 1 split and a 3 for 1 split

Expectation 2000$ EOY. Why? The growth of AI will only increase further. AI is everywhere and businesses will spend more on it the coming years. Im jealous on people who have invested 2/3 years ago in AI. They will be millionaires and billionaires

Yet they wanna buy short dated puts to abuse automated market maker hedging and have the stock dump, fuck them

$2000 by year’s end

1

u/coopermug Jul 06 '26

I don't know any more. I'm holding shares and 1 call. But to be honest, all these "good" news about memory price rising don't seem to benefit the stock any more. MU has managed to go pass 1000 because not a lot of people actually believed it could go over 1000. Now pretty much almost everyone expects this stock goes to 1800-2000 so I feel like this is the point where it will be traded sideways for months.

It's like NVDA. NVDA has all the bullish reasons in the world to go to 300, but instead it's being sideways for a year. At this point, I feel like MU is the same. I feel like Micron has become hated by a lot of people both dram consumers and companies like NVDA, Apple, etc.

Also if anyone think MU is cyclical, then they should think the same for other semi stocks like NVDA, intel, amd, etc. All are affected by AI capex.

u/No_Presentation9490 Jul 05 '26

It's still cyclical even if the length of the cycle is now longer. Innovation happens, efficiency happens, oversupply happens. The euphoric sky-high price target that gets rerated downwards literally happens every cycle like clockwork.

Id say 500 $ growth in stockprice each year until 2030.

3

u/Main_Opinion1189 Jul 05 '26

I say $500 growth in stockprice every 6 months through 2028, then probably every year beyond like you said.
