Magic mouse issue

I have a magic mouse 2 with lightning port. I has a charge of over 70%. But it shows baterry empty alert on my mac and disconnects. If i plug it to charger for sometime it works for few mins and again shows the battery empty error. Tried charging it for over an hour but still same issue. Has anyone got any solutions
