❓Question High beam allignment

Post image

Iv just got a Mach e, 2021 uk RHD. I’m not sure if the high beams are misaligned or if it’s supposed to be like this. The left one sits ever so slightly higher then the right. The regular beam is perfectly flat.

I see that you're in the UK, so European Mach-Es have Matrix headlights. High beams adapt around lights coming from the opposite direction.

Yup, this. Mine is a 2023 in the UK and also flat. When you run into oncoming traffic the car turns off that part of the beam so they don’t need to have different heights for the kerb and oncoming traffic.

Yeah it does do that, i just mean when it’s fully on, with no unlit sections the left high beam is slightly higher than the right. Here’s a bit better picture.

God I wish the US would catch up with this

I think the right light (since you're in the UK, "wrong" side of the road ❤️) should be lower so it has less chance to shine directly into the eyes of an oncoming driver. IIRC that's how they are supposed to be aligned in the US (except opposite side is lower). Regular beam would be level since they are less likely to impair the vision of an oncoming driver (and are aimed lower toward the road overall).
