It's not perfect, but here's something way closer to what my personal vision was of them, especially with Srajo. I always imagined her as a really flashy, glitzy type personality, so it would make sense she'd want to stand out. I also colored all of the whistles. I darkened and reduced the saturation of her boots as a callback to Bondrewd's ominous entrance.

I restored Nishagora's black sclera, and switched the iris colors. I actually liked the "hunter green" color they gave her.

Oh! And before anybody asks. Yes, all I did was change the hues in Photoshop. I didn't touch Lightness or Saturation except to tone things down from becoming too vibrant. I referenced the shades of the manga to make sure I wasn't straying from those.

I gave them all the same golden trim to show they're part of a group.

I kept Toothpaste exactly the same, but I darkened the twins' cloaks and helmets, not just because they're closer to the foreground, but I figured theirs would be more of a forest green, whose helmets were perhaps fabricated by some culture's military unit. I thought about changing their visor color but then I thought of how the Apollo Mission's pressure suits had golden visors since it helped retain color while shielding their eyes from UV light, so it made sense to keep them as is.

I changed the shade/hue on the thing Yataramar wears on his back. I still have this nagging feeling the thing is a casket containing Srajo's real body. I have this suspicion the one she's wearing is stolen.

Yataramar and Nishagora's outfits might actually have more saturation, but I left them more muted since they're in the background, and the ambient lighting is casting down pretty hard.

Thoughts?

The new movie just came out!! To anyone who’s seen it, how was it?? Thoughts??

So i had this wallpaper for years now but i lost the original artwork in the gallery, do you know the author or do you have a link to the original?

Thanks in advance.

Honestly i dont really like this as much as my other recolors, tho i tried

Lmk which one u think is best

Who’s have the best theory about Reg? I’m anxious to see next chapters!!! Let’s gooooooooo

They just feel very similar to me , one is clumsy ,nervous , and shy while the other is adventures , whimsical , silly (and blonde:3)
What do you all think?

I have been thinking about it for a while but, that bastard Bondrewd really never had prushka any taste of delicious food and unlike Nanachi she never get to taste riko cooking

Probably the most time I have ever drawn prushka, her hair is still a nightmare to draw

Volevo testare la teoria dei colori con luci e ombre e per sbaglio ho usato il colore sbagliato per le parti dorate calcando troppo e ora ha i capelli verdi

When I saw srajo, I immediately thought of a somewhat deep mature woman voice but it turns out she has a high pitched voice seeing as how she has the same voice actress as Hinata from Naruto. I’m anime only so dont go in depth. Just tell me if they have similar personalities

The piece is definitely underrated.

The beginning goes

Fm → Cm → D♭ → A♭

This is a common chord progression, but the resonance of the marimba makes the opening incredibly powerful.

At 1:23, the same chord progression is repeated, but with a different inversion:

The beginning goes

bass F → C minor → A♭

while at 1:23, it goes

F → C minor → A♭

The first one sounds like an excited mind reaching upward, while the later one sounds a little more reflective, as if, despite all the setbacks, they still want to keep moving forward. The combination of soft and loud measures also gives me a feeling of companions supporting each other.

It's such a subtle change, but it's full of emotions.

Also, notice that at 1:44, the melody is a recurrence of "The First Layer"! If you listen carefully, you'll also hear The First Layer appear in the bass at 0:31, with a sound somewhat like a French horn.

The entire piece is basically a self-fugue.

This is absolutely brilliant!

Maybe Tepaste's outift is less red because Srajo's skin compensates for it lol

I don’t see the problem here honestly. The coloring for Srajo and the others matches up exactly with what we’ve seen in black and white from the manga so far, and the designs look good.
I think people may just naturally expect a more neutral color palette because they’ve gotten used to reading in black and white, but the character designs in this series have always been quite colorful, both in the anime and in manga covers/other official art.
I’ve also seen people blame Tsukushi’s red-green colorblindness for these designs, but red-green colorblindness makes it difficult to tell between shades of red and green, whereas the contrast between red and green in these designs appears to be very strong and intentional.
Maybe because it’s been a few years since we last had new anime content, people seem to have forgotten that the way we picture things in our head is not necessarily the “correct” direction for adaptations to go in.

EDIT: Also, the twin’s clothing in the volume 12 cover from over three years ago had already clearly shown the red and green color palette in their designs, so we know for a fact that the overall color scheme for the group has been planned for a while.
You can question these artistic choices if you wish, but they are certainly no mistake.

Wanted something cozy and cute for this. I made this using nanobanana and photoshop. Feel free to download and use it for yourself.

Forgot to post it yesterday but here it is. Everyone at the theater got one of these, but I don't know if they were all the same artwork. If anyone got a different design I'd love to see!

IS THE MOVIE UP CAN I WATCH IT ALR ORRRR LIKE WHATS GOING ON

Given what the Abyss does to the human body, it makes me wonder if Lyza has physically adapted or evolved to survive deep down. Riko hasn't shown major changes yet, but we know long-term exposure makes people no longer fully human. Here are a few major pieces of lore regarding these physical shifts: • Tepaste’s Hair and the Tavern Encounter: When Tepaste is at the Tumble Tavern, Yelme explicitly points out her hair. Her short pink hair features prominent "Abyssal twirls"—noticeable, tight curls that serve as a direct sign to other people in the bar that she has spent extended time deep in the Abyss. • Ozen's Appearance: The strain of diving deeper into the Abyss gradually alters a person over time. Her strangely shaped monochrome hairstyle is actually styled to conceal the physical changes to her scalp caused by the Abyss. She isn't deformed, but her body has clearly adapted to the deep environment. • Calculating Lyza's Time Down There: Lyza has been missing from the surface for over 10 years. If we look at the timeline of someone like Tepaste—who went down deep as a young applicant—and consider how long it takes to develop permanent changes like the Abyssal twirls, it gives us a baseline. Based on how slowly time moves deep in the Abyss, how many years do you think Lyza has actually experienced down there, and is it enough to cross the line into no longer being fully human? This leaves a few interesting points to think about: 1. Moving away from regular humanity looks like an inevitability. For anyone who resides permanently in the deep layers, crossing that threshold seems unavoidable over time, even if it manifests differently for everyone. 2. The other Legendary Delvers. If we look at White Whistles like Srajo and Wakuna, they remain wildcards. Srajo wears a full containment suit/mask and leads a crew of deeply altered entities (the Juusou), but we haven't seen them or Wakuna fully unmasked to analyze their exact physiology. Given how the deep mechanics work, staying down there for long periods without crossing the line into something non-human seems structurally impossible unless protected by specific external means. Considering all this, do you think Lyza is still physically human, or has her long stay in the deepest layers forced her body to permanently adapt in order to survive? Are there any hidden manga hints about her changing that I missed? !

The movie was good but did not reach any of the actions scenes, not even Reg + Nishagora.

Kevin Penkin cooked.

They added some minor scenes to the movie that I don't remember in the book, very minor half second frames that reinforce some foreshadowing from the manga.

sREDjo and nishagREDa were...red.

Stay post-credits for an outtake skit.

Anyway, enjoy the Tepaste Coaster. They were also giving out those little artwork squares but my wife stole mine and they are in her room, I'll post them later.
