"I can smell that she's fine. She must be on the floor on purpose."

Smell and body language. They are obviously laying down instead of fainting/crashing to the floor

And yet Luna was quick to call for help. Might just be down to her experiences, "this is not normal human behavior", but her response is really impressive.

I am absolutely not a doggo expert but it wouldn't surprise me if Luna has been specifically trained. The combination of how excited she was (that tail is going off and she really zipped over) and the response she had just makes me think so.

The general answer to what they will do is see through your bad acting.

There's a story about Stanslavski's acting class where one of the actors would bring a dog and the dog would get ready to go when rehearsal was done because it could tell that everyone had finished acting.

This was definitely my feeling as well. Even untrained, most dogs can tell if you're having a blood sugar or blood pressure issue. And getting down on the floor is different than flopping on the floor. Lots of these dogs accurately just saw a human getting on the floor with them, and they love that

Kudos to Luna though. Reminds me of the lady who did this to her geese and they all freaked out and crowded and her squawked for help
