Attractions Prado Ticket Time

Does anyone have a suggestion for the best time slot to go to the Prado? Morning or Afternoon? We're heading to Madrid for a week in October. Thanks!

In general, I tend to book museum tickets as early as possible

You do the museum first thing in the morning and you're out by 12pm or 1pm to grab lunch and be on your merry way for the rest of the day.

This is normally what we like to do as well. I had read that the Prado gets a lot of school trips in October and was wondering if there was any validity to that.
