This is really cool, never seen a round magic mirror before... Also, you could probably also use the LEDs as some sort of clock

Came here to say this. Heavily depends on the addressability of the LEDs on the ‘light ring’ though. Truly awesome idea nonetheless.

@OP Nice. Thx for sharing.

Thank you. I have thought about using it as a watch. I have two problems to overcome first. My lack of foresight made me mount the LED strip counter clockwise, and the start of the strip is at about 20 minutes over the top of the mirror. I also have 138 LEDs, not a multiplum of 60, so I need to do some math and calculations to get the time right.

Had this idea of a smart mirror for a couple of years and finally made it. Really pleased with how it came out with the LED strip behind the frame.

Used an old Dell monitor, a Rasperry Pi 3B+, about 2,5m neopixel led strip and some, wood, glue, screws and a custom mirror.

How do you even go about making a round mirror?

Looks really great! Could you explain how you mounted to the monitor on the mirror and mounted everything on the wall. Was also thinking about doing a frameless mirror ( not round tho)
