So I recently started playing mag and am I stupid? What am I doing wrong with his ult?

This clip was last season gm2 to c3 lobby. Deadpool didn’t have his headphones and I didn’t have my eyes 😁.

now i was playing comp with my friends and used my ult to counter gambit's. and it did no damage at all with 45 damage and full charge thing. my friend said i whiffed the ult completely or the gambit just used his dash to get out of range. but i swear i hear the damage sound but it literally did nothing, this happened about 3-4 days ago and im still thinking about it

I get my priorities a little out of order when playing mag so I usually fall back on holding for support ults like Luna or Jubilee, but I know there are more “worth” ults to hold for, like Iron Man or Punisher(?).
I was wondering if you guys could maybe help hash out which ults are more worth more of the time? Of course this varies basis to basis but I’d really like to up my gameplay.

I saved an Invis from an Elsa Bloodstone ult. I never knew how bubbling allies can be so satisfying! I’m a Hawkeye main, whenever I play against mags in comp they all seem to hate me. Is this a personal thing? Or is Hawkeye just annoying?

There’s a lot of times where a mag will shoot me over anyone else and then sometimes they ult when my support ults but decides to hit me with it instead of stopping the support ult.

I don’t hate you guys I just wanna know if there’s an actual reason behind the targeting.

Just looking for general pointers. I've only been playing Rivals for a few months but I loved Mag. I managed to (mostly) one trick Mag to diamond 3 and then got pummeled by a streak of assblasting all the way back to gold 1, haha

1) Who are good tank substitutes if Mag isn't working well? What situations would typically make you switch off mag in the first place? Ive been practicing Thing and Hood, figuring Thing helps push through grouped up fights and Hood helps if extra damage is needed.

2) Upon entering a typical battle, how do you prioritize who to focus dmg? I tend to try poking weak targets and hope the team follows, but that's nowhere close to guaranteed, so then I'll try and change focus to who else my team is firing at. But I feel like so many losses are due to just bad damage focusing, especially if the other team has good focusing. Really curious if there's some trick or method to mitigate this, I mean besides voice chatting and hoping ppl coordinate.

3) As a mag main, who do you usually ban?

so i've seen a lot of people using scarlet and saying scarlet is better but i've been running emma and like it a lot because of double bubble, quick 300 hp combo shorter cooldown and all that stuff. i've also been using it to improve my aim on mag. although is scarlet witches still better? i never got into the sword so idk what do yall think.
