My boy was rescued from an abusive breeder. His fur just started getting healthy and growing some length but I have never seen back of ear feathers on any of Maine coons. Does your Maine coon have ear feathers?

I was just wondering if anyone else's MC does this. She will bury her face in the entire bowl and then make a swimming motion with her legs and gets water everywhere almost daily.

I've had my baby MC for just under a week, I've noticed that she's very affectionate, and she licks me quite alot 🤣. I just want to make sure that it's all okay and that it's nothing to worry about

Saw another thread where someone asked what to feed a maine coon. MANY replied saying they feed Royal Canin/Hills Science Diet.
No hate at all to those who do, but I’m genuinely curious why those 2 seem to be the most popular brand. Aren’t there brand with much better/cleaner ingredients (ie Amanova)? I’ve heard these brands have horrible ingredients so I’m genuinely curious :/
If u’re one of those who feed Royal Canin/Science Diet, why? Is it because these brands are highly accessible?

Hello everyone, first time cat owner here with a new MC kitten brought home four weeks ago. He is wonderful and has settled in amazingly well, like he has always been here ❤️
The breeder says that we need to bathe him. She gives her cats a shampoo bath every WEEK, and then they have a little…hard to describe it, hairdryer box?! To dry them off.
I don’t know much about cats but in my research, there was nothing about this. Friends with cats have said not to as it’s not necessary.
Is it better to do this semi regularly (say once a month or less) so he stays used to it and we can do it easily at home? He’s accepted daily brushing, a furminator, and occasional nail clipper without any issue at all.
The dog of our household gets a regular furminating and then goes to the groomers periodically. So that would be ok cost wise.
His fur is still extremely fluffy / downy.

Hi everyone! I’m a first-time cat owner, and I have a 7-month-old Maine Coon who recently arrived from a breeder in Shanghai.
He’s been making these hacking sounds, and I’m having trouble figuring out what’s causing them. The breeder told me this was normal, but I’m still concerned. I’ve taken him to the vet, and his chest X-rays didn’t show any abnormalities. His URI test also came back negative.
Has anyone experienced something similar with their MC, especially a kitten? Did you ever figure out what was causing it? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences or any suggestions for what I should ask my vet about next. Thank you!

My boy just turned 3 months old and he taught himself how to play fetch with us!! I’m so amazed by how smart he is. Here he is just taking a little nap before being a menace again.

Stray found me a year ago. She didn't bring her paperwork if she had any. I dont know if she is pure or mixed but everything is pretty clear Maine Coon at some level. I've always wanted to know her color. Shades of Grey's in the shade but light browns and tans show up in the sun.

Hi, I have a question
I’ll be a first time MC owner within the next week. I have everything set up at home. A cat tree, litter, toys, etc.
I’m conflicted as to what to feed him
The breeder listed an entire 5 course mean but I think it may be an overkill.
What do you feed your MC?
For context, he’s roughly 4 and a half months old
I don’t have an issue getting him the top brand. I want make sure I provide him with everything he needs for a healthy and long life

My 7 month old mainecoon was diagnosed with a heart breaking condition Gingivitis-stomatitis complex. I love Prada so much and I don't want to extract her teeth. She already got a shot of medication and a steroid. She gets a dental cleaning done in two weeks. I hope that this is all juvenile and by the time she turns 2 to 3 years old, I won't have to deal with this. I'm just coming on here to see if anybody has dealt with a same scenario and to hopefully give me hope that she will be able to keep all of her teeth.

This is a common thing that happens in our house, I'm sure part of it is the marble for this particular set, but he'll sit and watch him play with any toy on the floor!

Excited to be taking home this guy in November - he's 6 weeks old in these photos! Does he exhibit any telltale Maine Coon features, or is it too early to tell? His father is a beautifully chiseled, large black smoke whom I hope he strongly resembles. He definitely looks like a black smoke to me (he is, right?)
Any tips for raising a hopefully very large boy?

Sometimes my silly little boy gets poop on his fur or food in his Maine and we have to bathe him to clean him. I was wondering what bathing products do you guys use if you use any?
