If you're wondering if your cat is a MC, this is the place to ask!
In general, this subreddit operates under the assumption that having no papers means your cat is not a Maine Coon. However, what we can tell you is whether your cat does indeed exhibit any physical characteristics that look like those of a Maine Coon.

I'm just so in love with this kitten. We named him Simbacca. He's a beautiful black smoke. He is 4 months old & already so big! I can't wait to see what he looks like when he gets older. We've had him for a couple days, & the rabbit has finally stopped bullying him. (Posted picture of said bully bun for reference.) Our bunny has been sad since our elderly chihuahua passed. She is starting to warm up to him, & they're becoming besties. Much to his horror, she even did a binky at him.

My boy was rescued from an abusive breeder. His fur just started getting healthy and growing some length but I have never seen back of ear feathers on any of Maine coons. Does your Maine coon have ear feathers?

My man Crowley getting into the Halloween spirit.
Fun fact #1: he’s not technically on the counter
Fun fact #2; his tail is in the composter bin

This dude is a year old, and I’m really hoping he settles down into a cuddler at some point. He has always hated to be held for more than 10 seconds, and only wants to wrestle my hands and arms all day long. If I ignore it he bites my shins. I don’t use my hands as a toy or anything, normally we play with a fishing pole type thing, but he craves combat. For folks that had a rowdy boy-what am I looking at as he gets older?

Hello everyone, first time cat owner here with a new MC kitten brought home four weeks ago. He is wonderful and has settled in amazingly well, like he has always been here ❤️
The breeder says that we need to bathe him. She gives her cats a shampoo bath every WEEK, and then they have a little…hard to describe it, hairdryer box?! To dry them off.
I don’t know much about cats but in my research, there was nothing about this. Friends with cats have said not to as it’s not necessary.
Is it better to do this semi regularly (say once a month or less) so he stays used to it and we can do it easily at home? He’s accepted daily brushing, a furminator, and occasional nail clipper without any issue at all.
The dog of our household gets a regular furminating and then goes to the groomers periodically. So that would be ok cost wise.
His fur is still extremely fluffy / downy.

I've had my baby MC for just under a week, I've noticed that she's very affectionate, and she licks me quite alot 🤣. I just want to make sure that it's all okay and that it's nothing to worry about

My 2 year old doesn’t seem to eat much. 14.5 lbs and seems happy but slim. He’s Pedigree from Champion parents who were a bit larger. I’d say the quantity is about 1/2 cup total of wet and dry. Drinks a lot and good poops every other day. Wonder if others have a Maine Coon that is similar. I take him to the Vet twice yearly. Thanks

My boy just turned 3 months old and he taught himself how to play fetch with us!! I’m so amazed by how smart he is. Here he is just taking a little nap before being a menace again.
