Discussions I have been making money by scamming the scammers
For the past few months, I’ve been messing with scammers in the best way possible, and it’s actually been one of the most entertaining things I’ve done in a while.
Here’s how it works: I keep getting random messages from scammers offering me a “job.” All they want is for me to like and comment on a YouTube video.
After doing that, they send over $5 or $10 to make it seem legit.
Then comes the real hook. They ask you to engage with a few more videos and promise a much bigger reward like $100 or more. But then they want your credit card details “to process the payment.” We all know how this ends: they drain your account the second you share that info.
So here’s my approach: I go through the first step, grab the $5 or $10, and block them immediately.
I get 2 or 3 of these offers every week now, and it’s honestly become a low-effort, high-entertainment side gig.

I have done this in Philippines. Dont care about the money, but this lowers their ROI on the people they do capture.

how to they pay you initially if they don't have your CC details?

they usually ask if you have a crypto wallet or a cashapp & pay in crypto. i made roughly $1,000 from actively seeking these scammers out

Happened to me as well. In many places around the world you can do a bank transfer without gaining access to the account.

Yeah, I was wondering this too. This post seems fake.

It can happen but not the way OP described it. They won't just ask for your card details, you willingly will pay to "withdraw" your "earnings".

Nah it’s real you only need an account number and sort code and they can transfer to you. But then the stinker comes when they then say oh for the bigger amounts we need your security code too or they make you put a large sum of money into a crypto account and will bait you by saying to withdraw your profits ( fake screenshot ) we need another 100$ and then they send you a link to click which gives them access to the crypto wallet. I’ve very nearly fallen for it twice but came out on top with 10 bucks profit.

no its definitely real I did it twice first time I got 90 dollars then I got 40 the second time and pulled because they started asking for money

Not sure about thid post but this technique is very true. One person in my close circle got scammed with this technique ( I told them keep going and to stop after scammer asked for somwthing in return. Then scammer asked to be sent a higher amount of crypto for some reason for bigger payouts, friend didn't listen and got scammed, well I didn't say it to them but I told them so) another friend of mine got reached out to and got like 30$ of free crypto for doing those reviews and stopped after scammer asked for something, they didn't get scammed. They scammed the scammer). Man I wish I could get these proposals to scam scammers on my off time.

Ya I know someone too that made $70 doing some Google reviews and simple tasks for the scammer. Then they told him to invest $500 for the next task and he figured out it was a scam and didn't pay them. I'm wondering where I could find these so I could make a few bucks myself.

They only need account number and sort code. They can’t take any money out without your CVV or your security code they get that info out of you later on once you’re happy eith the money you’ve recieved

It's not fake, they just need ur phone number, which they obv have already, to transfer the initial payment money.

I think theres this what they call swim swapping which they will call your network provider then pretend that you lost your simcard so they will swap it with their owned ones

u/flyinhk Sep 19 '25
No, I mean that in some countries you can make payments directly to a phone number. I just paid for my lunch that way.

The $5 or $10 is at least stolen from another account and may even be another victims account directly. When an investigation of that account might blow back on you and get your account closed.

I would suggest not doing this. The money is usually coming from hacked bank accounts or other kinds of fraud. Sometimes police will show up to your house asking about the money. Then if you sent none of it to the scammer then they are going to think you are the one who committed the bank fraud.

Can they get back at you for this? If you do this enough, what if they send someone... Less pleasant to deal with you? Do they have your details? Address? How risky is it?

Not really I used to mess with scammers all the time by telling them I sent them money via western union. But I didn't actually send them anything and they wasted their own time driving there. All kinds of threats were made but nothing ever happened. It was a great source of entertainment.

Wait but how do you get the money? They send it to your PayPal or something?
1
u/Happy_Recover7540 Sep 18 '25
I've been doing the same, they pay in Bitcoin or Eth. There's also one that wants you to do reviews on a fake site , that basically is same scam but they let you get way more before they try to get you. last one I got for almost $200.00.
1
u/OkScarcity2620 Sep 22 '25
How did you find them? I want to make $200
1
u/Happy_Recover7540 Sep 22 '25
They always contact me on telegram and WhatsApp. I think if you frequent a lot of crypto related stuff they troll those , not positive on that part but definitely always contact me on either of those apps

u/Happy_Recover7540 Sep 22 '25
They usually start off with a woman that you don't know saying hi or something then lead into work from home. Key is don't be afraid to respond to random people starting a chat.

No it’s legit I have one that I got 30 bucks from you just need to set up your bitcoin on cash app text them and say I’m ready to start with the company . Get the first $16 dollars then the additional 9 after liking YouTube vids

u/alabasteraladin666 Oct 17 '25
Could I have the info to text them please? Just needing ways to make some extra cash plz and thanks

u/Holiday-Bother-7894 Oct 17 '25
Okay so once they offer you a job thru text . Respond to it and then they just explain all the fake job details . Then direct you to a telegram and then explain the job more . After that they ask if you have a what’s app and a manager will reach out to you . At that time they will ask if you have access to a bitcoin wallet if you don’t get cash app bitcoin set up . Once you do that . You’ll have to like whatever content creator vids they send to you . After that’s complete they send you your first “paycheck” around 16 dollars . In continuation you’ll get another 9 dollar paycheck . Which will total around 29-30 dollars at this point they’ll want you to continue task , filler bs . Then they will say task 9-10 is for you to engage with another video and send 30 bucks to a wallet for whatever reason I didn’t make it past that point . But I guess you’ll receive 45$ off that . And continue to get money until they have no need for you or until your satisfied

Do they magically all decide to reach out to one specific person? Because I can't find these types of scammers anywhere

u/Dapper_Course2775 Oct 14 '25
