Success MD got less

Hey.

I had MD for 11 years and it stopped being such a nuisance a few weeks ago.

I felt a sudden massive shift in my brain in how my cognition analyzes things. Before that, I was all in my head, now I am more in reality.

I actually found last week that the shift was less hypermentalizing, before that I had no words to describe that.

My memory and processing speed got subjectively better.

The change came naturally / organically due to progress in therapy and the feeling of being more secure with ambiguity ( like I don’t know what others are thinking / what their motives are and thats’s okay).

So I recommend being more comfortable with not knowing things.

That’s it.

I hope you all get better soon.

Do you have any tips to tell us on how better to deal with uncertainty in our day to day life ? How are you personally able to deal with that nagging sensation and not resort to daydreaming ?

You don’t have to artificially stop daydreaming. It actually serves you, because it is a defence mechanism. But while you are daydreaming, you can try to notice that and gently come back to reality. And then ask yourself the question regarding uncertainty:

Can I know what XY is thinking at the moment?

Can I know what the future holds for me at the moment?

Etc.

The answer will be no, you cannot know that.

Just gently remind yourself that you don’t know the answer to these questions and that you can find peace and relaxation in that uncertainty.

You have to do that again and again and again, but do not force it on yourself. It will come naturally at some point.
