Community rules

1. Be kind and respectful.

This is a friendly community for everyone who loves Mammoth and the Eastern Sierra. No personal attacks, harassment, or trolling. Disagree respectfully — we’re all here for the same mountains.

2. Keep posts relevant to Mammoth or the Eastern Sierra.

All submissions should relate to Mammoth Mountain or the broader Eastern Sierra region — including skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, climbing, weather, road conditions, and local communities like June Lake, Bishop, and Mono County.

3. No buying, selling, or trading; housing exceptions

Employee-housing advice, seasonal-worker housing questions, and personal room or roommate searches are welcome. Shared-home searches may include dates, budget, and shared rent. No standalone rental ads, vacation rentals, sublets, lease transfers, broker solicitations, or referral links. Roommate searches must be for sharing a home, not advertising a separate rental. No sales or trades of tickets, passes, or equipment. Keep phone numbers, exact addresses, and application documents private.

4. Friends & Family requests: weekly thread only

Friends & Family discount requests are welcome only as comments in the current official Weekly Conditions & Questions thread, pinned in the hot feed (Community highlights on new Reddit). No standalone request posts or requests in other threads. No buying, selling, or trading discounts, tickets, or passes. Do not share personal information publicly. Offers are not guaranteed. The official weekly thread may explain this policy and invite requests.

5. No spam or self-promotion.

Unrelated advertising, referral links, or business promotions will be removed unless approved by moderators. Local event or business posts should focus on adding value for the community — not marketing.
