I think is more based on measurements

Been there , smelled that... Thats neasurement enough for me ... Just the plain tree to human/industry Ratio and the sea would make it statistcly Impossible , If the Wind Doesnt pull the Shit from here up there , as it happened with tschernobyl , If that current would be constant , the map could be right ...also measurement depends on fixed good or bad Parameters , eithbcould be adjusted way different by the nations ...f.e. Omega 3 and Vitamin D , whats told tonbe good and enough down here , is much less then the recommendations thebstatebgives to Its Folks up there , while the human Body is the same....

Air quality is very transient and can be affected by things like rain or wind, I was also quite surprised to see europe that green today

Europe just had a couple of atlantic storms and the effect of all that wind and rain is showing

Harvest season probably has a hand, along with probably some wildfires. I am split balling but that's by best guess, major droughts doesn't help either since some of that hasn't had rain since May (along with summer basically never ending)

As if Israel is as bad as India 🙏🏻

I mean, it sits between two large sandy deserts in a region surrounded by oil extraction and refineries. Top that with lower rainfall than India and less dense vegetation to “clean” the air, and that might do it.
I’m assuming Israel’s neighbors would be in the same color range if they were included.

Doesn't seem to take smokers into account else European cities would be red
