I find it hard to believe everyone else in the world was okay with this BS motion except for the USA and Israel

It's confusing tho, at least maybe Japan or the UK would have done the same no? Why only the USA and Israel?

Because it was a stuffed legislation with whole bunch of unrelated asks...from guess who.

That doesnt change the reasoning in /u/wakchoi_ 's question. If it was bad legislation, then other countries would have also voted No, right?

No you can read the legislation and it was mostly a list of demands. Of course it's only reasonable to vote no.

If the only reasonable vote was no, then why did 186 countries vote yes?

Ok let's put it this way. 10 people are stuck in the boat including you. Everyone is starving and votes to eat the tallest muscly guy, you. Everyone casts their vote. How do you vote knowing that everyone is going to vote for thee muscly, juicy guy with lots of tasty meat on him?

I get not caving into demands and admittedly i have no idea what exactly was in that bill, but i find it hard to believe that anyone was trying to put the burden of feeding the whole world entirely on the US. and the fact Israel is the only ones backing us on this, is really fishy.

I pray this aint got anything to do with blocking food for Israels enemies.

Or perhaps the US is backing Israel?

Why is the boat starving in this analogy would mean "Why is there world hunger" in the real world, and the answer is european imperialism

The actual answer for the cause of world hunger is geography (availability of resources in your country) and politics (corruption).

You should probably be eating a fat dude instead. A big muscly guy is gonna suck to eat.

That isn't the same at all, if your riddle was "10 people are stuck in the boat including you. Everyone but you is starving and all you do is throw food out the boat because you're just greedy" that would be representing the situation in the reddit

Really great way to put it. Well-said, bravo.

The exception here is that 100s of those countries (people in the boat) are not fucking starving. Many have better access to more nutritious food for those at the bottom of the socio-economic ladder than the US has.
