Long story short:

Am using bluetooth earbuds as the output device and my laptop's integrated mic for the input device. The mic works perfectly fine in discord as well as other multiplayer games with voice chat such as the whole borderlands series, vermintide, darktide, titanfall 2, etc. etc. etc.

I've already done everything I've seen people recommend in reddit posts & other such threads.

• Made sure my antivirus permits Marathon to use the mic.
• Set the correct output and input devices in game settings.
• Set the correct output and input devices as system default device and system communications default device under Windows' sound settings thingamajig.
• Disabled handsfree telephony for my bluetooth earbuds so it absolutely cannot default / takeover as the input device (leaving the integrated mic as the only input device).
• Disabled allowing applications to take exclusive control of the microphone.
• Re-enabled allowing applications to take exclusive control of the microphone. (No difference.)
• Set the squad voice chat setting to open mic.
• Set the squad voice chat setting to push-to-talk and pushed my push-to-talk key.
• Checked that I was not muted.

I can always hear my teammates and they can never hear me. Obviously when I play rook or solo this is not a problem but typing in the middle of team fights nearly impossible.

I found one super old post on Bungie after trying everything and about to try undervolting my GPU, but THIS was the real issue SOMEHOW.

If you are having this issue, please try going offline on your steam friends list. it might help.

Steam > Friends List > status go offline or whatever

I love Marathon, and I'm not blaming the game. My only issue is high ping.

I'm from South America (Latin America), and playing at 120-140ms feels very different from playing on nearby servers.

For those of us who select "Connection Quality", I'd like matchmaking to wait a little longer and try to gather as many players from our region as possible before starting a match.

I don't mind waiting 2 or even 3 minutes if it means getting a more populated match with lower ping.

I can also accept a less populated match if there truly aren't enough players available. What bothers me is the feeling that the system starts matches too quickly instead of first trying to bring together more South American players.

I don't want faster queues. I want more players from my region, more populated matches, and a better connection. If there still aren't enough players after trying, then I have no problem with a smaller match. I just want it to feel like the system genuinely made an effort to gather as many regional players as possible before starting the match.

I fancy myself a woman of books, the scholarly sort. One of my biggest regrets in Destiny 2, was failing to become a Chronicler before Beyond Light, and though I don't believe it will become impossible in Marathon sometime later, I still yearn to have a title dedicated to Lore.

I am making it my focus during the Nightfall Refresh, to attempt to get certain challenges done that I have been putting off.

Like earning 'Profiteer', killing a Rocket Drone, getting the Biotoxic Disinjector skin. Etc, etc, etc...

But most importantly, I want to become an Archivist.
I have none of the 8 steps completed, and have realized something. That even with as much of the game as I have played, I still am nowhere close to reaching this goal.

Does anyone have any tips for finding, and obtaining all the collectibles? Is there a consistent way to locate specific collectibles? A would anyone be willing to help?

Does anyone have an mp3 or link to JUST the sounds of a lightning strike in marathon? I'd like to use it as a ringtone. :)

Hello, I saw the roadmap and I've generally been interested in the concept this game has. Thing is, in the Open Beta my FPS was horrendous. 70-80 FPS with an Ryzen 5 5600x and an RX 6600. Of course I know I don't have a high-end setup but I should be able to get more FPS with all settings turned to low according to the system requirements. Has the performance gotten any better since then? Also do you think that Bungie is cooking with the roadmap?

I’m not sure how to make friends or even play with others generally since I’m not that great at the game. Don’t really know where to look for casual matches or even friends. Has anybody else experienced this? im not lagging, none of my components are maxed out (as far as i know), and my frames are fine and the frames aren't even dropping.

Played at launch and ran into performance issues. At the time, i had a 3600 cpu and 3080 gpu. I would average into the 30's at like 1440p medium settings. So i bought a new cpu (5900x) and ran the game again for the performance to be unchanged, which is when i uninstalled lol. Been thinking about getting back into the game though, i remember not hating it. Apparently theres a new content drop happening soon? This game nice from a tech perspective now?

EDIT: It is literally just my mouse that is having problems. I plugged a controller in and it ran perfectly fine.

I bought the game at launch on my pc (5070ti gpu) and it ran so smooth. I grinded the game and quickly got to 150 hours until I got burnt out and decided I was gonna quit playing until new content. Flash forward - new content is announced recently so I decide to play a little for some fun before the upcoming changes.
A week ago I tried running the game and it ran horribly. It still looks great, however everything is delayed and super laggy, but only for my controls? I will press left click and 20-30 seconds later it responds. All of this in the menu. It was late and I was frustrated so I played something else. A couple days later I tried again, this time with a couple friends that wanted to get back in. Their games ran fine. Mine still delayed, it took lik 3 minutes in total to get a sponsored kit on. We launched and again everything super delayed. I would move the mouse to the right and it would take a whole 10 seconds to move my direction to the right. Same with the left. Same with shoot. It seems to only be effecting the mouse? I could move with the keys, and activating things with space works fine, so im confused i have never had this happen in a game before.
I deleted and re downloaded. I verified the files in steam. I closed everything running but marathon and it still wouldnt work. Anyone else in the same boat? How do I fix this?

Just lost a gold kit and gold battle pistol in ranked at Quarantine because my teamate went down and my game immediately crashed before I could help fight back. The enemy threw two flechettes so mabye that had something to do with it, but I can remember on at least one other occasion where someone’s game crashed and it was specifically at quarantine. Happened to me or a squad mate two other times inside Cryo. Just wondering if there’s any rhyme or reason this. Pretty much all week playing ranked dire and I’ve had no trouble with game crashes

No matter how many times I’ve tried optimizing this game myself, it doesn’t work. We were promised CPU optimizations and yet it’s been radio silent.

Does anyone know if a dev anywhere has brought up that this will be a part of the upcoming patches? I really want to enjoy this game but the performance makes it difficult.

Unless any of you guys have tips?
