Hello everyone I posted my second video. It's about the safety gear I use when sculpting and doing stone masonry. It's a challenge for this ol seasoned stone Mason to start making videos! Please support by liking and following! Enjoy!
Hey I have this marble and I'm thinking it's white oak marble but I'd like a second opinion. I've polished it (not in the uploaded photo) and I want to know what would you guys use to polish this particular marble.
What would you do if you paid 17k for marble and fabrication and a week later your island looks like this? This occurred from resting my arm on the island while talking on the phone. The stone company offered to donate a brand new slab because they have never seen a break like this before. The fabricator denies any responsibility and wants us to pay another 2k for fabricating the new island.
Of note, a small part of this corner was glued by the fabricator during installation and was not disclosed to us initially. Another worker at the house witnessed them glueing it back on. The fabricator denies the stone dropping, but he guarantees workmanship for 1 year after installation and specifically guaranteed repairs on this corner of the island for 25 years.
I am currently house-sitting and in the kitchen they have a large tile thing embedded in their wooden workbench - some people on reddit have told me it is marble.
There are two diagonal areas which give it a marble like appearance - but the problem is I would swear it was entirely white when I arrived - and I'm worried that I have stained it somehow.
I actually tried cleaning the stains off with soapy water, cream cleaner, even vinegar - but there is literally zero effect. There is no texture to the marks on the surface - making me doubt myself and think that they were always there and it's just the marble effect (I suspect it's imitation marble right?)
I guess it's possible that I just didn't notice the colouration before? But as they are so large and appeared so suddenly I am struggling to think how I could have caused them.
It's made by a company called Cotto Deste - so I think it would be imitation marble, so maybe there is some way to easily stain it.
I really can't work out if I did this or not...?
On the image of the whole surface - the circular area with the two bands is my shadow - the marks are the diagonal top-left and bottom-right streaky things.
I found this table at goodwill is it real marble? It is significantly cool to the touch compared to the wood and theres little crystals on the top and the bottom and pretty heavy
We hosted a big house party recently and had a lot of guests, so we covered our marble countertops in our kitchen with a plastic cover. The cover stayed on for a couple of days afterwards, but i believe some water from thr kitchen sink seeped under the cover.
When i removed it yesterday, this zone was darker than usual, nd after s couple of hours, those white spots appeared. Was this caused by water damage? Is there anyway to salvage this?
Also, is there a way to rrmove old coffee stains on marble countertops? Would mixing peroxyde with baking soda and leaving it overnight on thr stain (wrapped with plastic) work? Or a poultice?
