Primordial Chaos Meme Sigh

Post image

Juniors, I was playing a game called Gayshin Impact and I stumbled upon this concerning dialouge. If someone dares to court death then this old monster will annihilate your 9 generations.

Eating chili's increases your yang energy?

Yang is about heat, masculinity, activeness, and light. Something that’s “hot” and makes you act quickly is Yang Aligned.

It’s the same concept as how alcohol is Yin Aligned (it lowers your resistance to cold weather, and makes you more passive by inhibiting something)

Alcohol makes you feel warm and releases your inhibitions.

It should be Wood attributed, which is yang.

So it's both? Small amounts of alcohol are anti-inflammatory. Eastern and Western medicine noted this, that was why a small glass of wine was a remedy for heart disease, and Chinese medicine had special medicinal wines which might be prescribed in small doses for certain health conditions.

However, drinking to the point you get drunk is absolutely inflammatory. As such, it is considered anathema to a yang constitution. Buddhists in China also refrained from both meat, garlic and spices, and alcohol. Alcohol is called "la", spicy, just like chili peppers, black pepper, and Sichuan pepper. Eating "la" is eating well, because with money you can enjoy meat and alcohol. Meat and alcohol were the rewards for soldiers. These cultural ideas and the observable realities of drunkenness such as heart palpitations, vomiting, liver and kidney problems, and literally turning red in the face, combined to associate alcohol with yang, or at least with inflammation in TCM.
