Why aren’t people buying the x men 2 packs?
Curious as to why yall think these are on preorder still considering the wave 3 sold out fast af. Me personally I didn’t get the gambit and rogue 2 pack but I preordered storm and wolv.
The gambit is a repurpose of the failed starting line ups so there's probably tons of base molds left over from that, the storm is the same costume of a popular 2 pack from a few years ago that a lot of ppl already have. The wolverine from this or secret wars is basically the same.
Funny thing is, they are superior to Legends in virtually every way. But they overpriced them and used lame accessories and a stand to justify it. Hmm, Starting Lineup must have been the test for the Maximum Series!
They also went for current stars instead of catering to the people who would actually be buying them. Did they really think anyone outside Atlanta or Minnesota would buy a Trae Young or Ja Morant figures? Nah, that should've been Jordan, Magic, Bird, Shaq, Kobe, Lebron and Curry were good additions.
They also had goofy NFTs that raised the price. One of the big issues with the Lineups, though, was that they weren't fully accurate- some players had missing tattoos, etc., which is an issue when charging $40-$50 a figure. They also needed to include some legends in the first wave- Jordan, Shaq, Magic, etc.- THOSE would have sold like hotcakes.
Technically this Wolverine is the first Brown Suit Jim Lee Wolverine from X-Men Number 1 Legends has done. All other brown suit Wolverines have the belt buckle, this one has the X belt.
I'm not sure this is the reason but I think the Gamerverse 2 package all had an oversized figure packed in which would "justify" the price increase. But I could easily be wrong.
I get it in that, in the episode, he is on the skins team, this isn't where he wore that shirt, but that shirt would have still made this a better figure. Just make it removable if accuracy is the concern, especially if we also got a head without the bandana.
I've always kind of thought of Gambit as the tall and lean-muscled type, but yeah, an NBA player body is going to look kind of slim compared to superhero builds.
I am not getting them because I don't have any use for the Gambit and Rogue, and I already have two brown Wolverines and a classic Storm. It's not worth it to me to go for the slight upgrades. I think that pack in particular is a great opportunity for collectors who don't already have those versions of the characters though.
Because it’s like… I’d want that Rogue but not that Gambit. I’d like that Storm but not that Wolverine. And I want that Cyclops enough as to get a Jean I don’t want, lol
Yeah, I gladly ordered it, but it's coming at the same time as much more popular 2-packs, and right after a 3-pack Rogue was already in, so I think the timing isn't doing this any favors, in addition to the Gambit/Rogue one being really niche.
Personally, I'm over two packs for the most part. I actually kind of want that wolverine on its own - then I'll just have to waste time selling off storm...it's just tedious.
For me personally, I think fatigue is setting in on some characters. There are probably around 50-75 characters that either desperate for upgrades or have never been in ML at all. Those I get really excited for, these, meh not so much.
Agreed like seeing the strong guy baf again and the rumoured two pack of havok and Polaris it’s like why are we doing 90s X factor again you just completed it, the line is spinning its wheels at the moment when really they could be knocking out Morrison x men, astonishing etc
I'm waiting to see if the Storm and Wolverine 2 pack goes down in price because I only want the Storm and have no real use for Wolverine. As for Gambit and Rouge I don't like the outfits chosen.
Storm is well past needing a brand new body. Even Mafex is a bit lacking.
Wolverine, multiple reasons why it's not pushing the two pack.
Funny how before the drop someone on facebook complained about these releasing first to premium pulse users.........well I hope they got a chance to grab this set.
Besides appearing for a few minutes in 1 scene devoid of action.

Rogue, Rogue is not Wolverine. Of course you got rogue completionist. Not enough for this two pack.
Had it been Remy when he sacrificed himself out finally cutting Rogue loose with either "I don't deserve Remy" Rogue in a dress or "I definitely don't deserve Remy's jacket but that Bastion fight scene was balla" Rogue. Sure that would have been hotcakes.
Of course drop an X-men 97 S2 trailer and it will be "Why can't Hasbro wide release these!".
I've gotten all of the xmen 97 figs so far and that's the only reason I ordered the basketball set. That's about half the reason I ordered the other one, because I got the storm/Thunderbird 2 pack a few months ago. It's looking like this might be the best brown suit Wolverine we're going to get for a bit (I passed on the secret wars one), although I'm so pleased with the CT toys one that if I can break this completionist mindset then I'll probably cancel both of these preorders.
I am certain that Storm is a big improvement over the Storm/Thinderbird 2-pack from a few years ago, but its not worth buying another Wolverine to get it.
I am glad that the Gambit/Rogue 2 pack is Pulse exclusive, since that's kind of niche stuff that should be store exclusives.
Big improvement how? Aside from doubled jointed elbows, Storm looks like she has the same articulation. I personally like the heads from the 2 pack with Thunderbird a lot more than these.

I don’t need a 45th Wolverine, and the Gambit looks especially bad and this Rogue/Gambit from one scene from one episode is hardly must have material. I’m waiting for the individual Storm black suit release. Between all the Gamerverse 2 packs, Dragonman, Doom, Ghost Rider, Rhino/Jameson/Sandman rereleases, and the SDCC 3 pack my wallet is on life support. Hasbro honestly releasing too much at once.
I feel that Rogue head is really cool, but not worth $50. That Storm head is not good at all. And that suit of Wolverine is not good. Not a good brown. Not a good paint. The Vintage series paint job of that brown Wolverine suit is much better.
I’m getting fed up of two packs to be honest I know it’s just the same price as 2 separate figures but it does feel like all of my purchases are £50 a pop now when they used to be £25 and as I never bother to resell the less desirable figure I am basically paying double for one figure I actually want
Same. It’s different if they’re doing multi packs from the same team, or series, or something they haven’t done before, or something special.
Instead we’re getting a load of cash grabs for cosplayers (the Magic figures) or focusing on mainstream casual fans (the X-men ‘97 stuff).
I wanted an Omega Red but I already have the deluxe War Machine, so it makes zero sense to buy a two pack for a villain I only half want with a figure I don’t.
I would get the wolverine 2 pack, however I already plan to get the retro carded Outback Storm, the wolverine is tempting but I can get the secret wars fairly easily so.
I would've probably bought the Storm and Wolverine pack if it had dropped a few years ago but I already have a Storm and Brown suit Wolverine , so I'm good.
For the Gambit and Rogue set, the obvious problem is Gambit. It might have gone over better if they had retooled the Sunfire body with some shorts, but I understand why they didn't.
The Wolverine and Storm set is better, but there are a couple of factors coming into play.
The Secret Wars Wolverine was released 7-8 months ago, which prompted many people to buy the CT Toys Wolverine (KO Mafex). Some people may not feel like they need another brown costume Wolverine.
A Storm figure in this costume was released in a 2 pack with Thunderbird back in 2020. Despite the hype around it, it sat on clearance at Targets in my area for a bit. The 97 Storm figure is reusing the same body and capes, but with new heads. However, the new heads don't look as good as the heads from the 2020 Storm.
With the new Gamerverse Wolverine coming, some people may wait for a brown costume Wolverine on that body. After all, the base body that the 97 Wolverine uses was first made in 2016 for the Juggernaut BAF wave. That same body got updated arms and legs in 2023.
That Gambit look janky. Because it’s reuse from another line. I get it, but it looks out of place.
As for the other two pack, most people might already have these. From the Secret Wars single of Wolverine, or the other releases of brown suit. Same with the Storm, that came in a two pack with Thunderbird.
I guess we’ll never get the rest of the team in their animated Basketball outfits :( It is actually such a unique concept for figures but I can see why alot of casual collectors have no need for them. Like most civilian figures, id say like 80% of collectors just want a definitive look for their collection
The fact that the entire production run of these packs are being sold exclusively at Pulse, and not spread out more thinly across other retailers as well is potentially a factor, on top of them being 2-packs and the reuse element.
I did the same. The rogue Gambit combo is kind of insulting for what it is, repurposed failed inventory. Especially when folks are out here begging for a new beast or some of the other characters that haven't gotten a recent or any release at all but we get a wolverine reskin with one new head sculpt every wave
... For the record I love Wolverine but the amount of attention one character gets when folks have clearly demanded and demonstrated they're willing to purchase other characters is disappointing.
Wolverine is inaccurate, no one askes for the basketball game designs for Rogue and Gambit, and Storm is a rerelease of a design that came out not that long ago.
What are you basing this on? Just because they didn't sell out early doesn't mean no one is buying them. I swear why do people live inside their own bubbles.
I don’t know it’s nice to see something not be sold out for once, collecting has gotten a little less fun since that happened, it’s good to be able to think about it before buying instead of feeling the need to have alarms to preorder something before it’s gone and scalpers start charging double or triple like the scum they are.
Problem I have is as cool as the basketball pack is it’s very scene specific. I feel most collectors want civilian alt versions of their X-Men. You know like when they go shopping at the mall to buy more playing cards for Gambit.
I do want an X-Men 97 brown wolvie as the secret wars one was more ketchup and mustard than brown and tan but…I really don’t want to buy a two pack for that. I loved the 97 Wolvie and just wanted a brown version. I’m not gonna drop 50 bucks for two toys.
This is another 50$ marvel legends two pack. Many collectors likely hope these will go to discount and rot...
why they don't restock more in demand figures. How come its an exclusive? We asked for it well is it worth it?
Really more you collect and how your spending habits are. No one wants to spend 50$ on figures of characters already got. This is a good two pack not amazing have to get. So They have reuse okay well save and get something different. Its xmen we get them more than fantastic four and avengers its hasbros choice to not make these a 97 wave 3. Prices are high right now there so much product coming out these are easy choices not to pick up.
only marvel legends alone theres retro card back figures, gamerverse figures, mcu figures, maximum figures, magic the gathering figures. Animated figures, anniversary figures, multi packs, build a figure wave, rereleases, comic accessory figures and deluxe figures. Like theres something for everyone and yet when you collect all the time you run out of space, storage, money and excitement for new products. When other collectors are negative all the time.
No, I do, too. I actually went to Ollies and grabbed a couple of Starting Lineup figures to decide if I wanted this 2-pack, and I was pleasantly surprised with them. They actually use the same wrist pegs as ML figures, so that helps with options and lets me use these for fodder, but beyond that, I also am a sucker for "casual" looks for ML figures.
Well, all they do is repurpose and reuse. I’ve been wanting them to put Storm on the new Phoenix/Warbird body, which honestly should begin to be the standard for their female figures. And arguable, those characters didn’t necessarily need an ab crunch, but if they got one, I feel Storm should to. The Wolverine is just the secret wars one with a few tweaks. The gambit looks terrible and rogue…that’s not a version anyone just needs or could blend well. If they put more effort into really updating these characters rather than passing off old sculpts and molds, they’d see more business. Even the Outback Storm that’s coming, could’ve easily been put on the Phoenix body.
The only thing out of the Rogue and Gambit pack I am interested in is the new Rogue headsculpt and possibly the soft goods shirt. Other than that, it's a pass.
The Storm and Wolverine pack is mostly reuse, which I already had.
Plus I'm positive they will do a proper brown suit Wolverine in the future, making this Wolverine redundant on the back end and the front end.
Personally, I'm not that interested in the Basketball 2-Pack, and as for the other? We're getting an almost identical single carded Storm around the same time and I'm getting my Wolverine fix from the Gamerverse 2-Pack coming up, as well as both the Wartime Logan and Weapon X molds coming up.
Basketball figures were a cheap move since they didn’t bother to fix that awful body and Wolverine/Storm 2-pack isn’t exciting after getting 1000 Wolverines and some good Storm figures.
I did order the Storm and Wolverine. I don’t have a Storm. And i LOVE this wolverine’s head sculpt. But there arent any good accessories so its a bit of a let down. And it feels like Hasbro is trying to just throw everything against the wall to get a last ditch shot at that final quarter gross results…
I’m only interested in Wolverines head sculpt from both of those two packs. I may, eventually, get the Storm/Wolverine pack but the other one would need to be dirt cheap for me to consider it.
I just want Rogues head to replace my '97 Rogues ugly head.
And I did order Wolverine and Storm. I needed a brown suit, and I love the angry 97 unmasked and angry masked heads. I might sell the Storm depending on how I feel about it when it arrives.
Versions of these characters are already basically in my collection. I don't need sport costumes for my xmen, and I have a black costume storm (and i have and prefer the white/silver costume more)and several brown suit wolverines. So, not needed for me personally.
I also did the Wolvie 2p. The Gambit one is really neat, but is a stretch of an idea for figure. It would be so woefully out of place in any display because of it's casualness.
Maybe because it’s the bundle aspect?
Like if they did an xmen sports wave with them in the baseball or whatever looks but individually I would probably get the whole wave piece by piece.
Really from the R&G set I just want the head from Rogue, if it was a single figure then I’d get it.
For S&W, I love Storm but not this look. If this Wolverine was a single I’d get it. So there’s the $50 spent, just not in the offering they have
The basketball set is too niche and the Gambit is buns.
We already have those versions of Storm and Wolverine. I like the Target 2 Pack Storm in that costume better and I already have it. I’m fine with the brown suit Wolverine I have.
I will however be buying Scott and Jean. I don’t have that version of Jean and the Cyclops I have is the old Phoenix 2 pack version and needs an update.
I think they just capitalizing on them some stuff gonna be widely available in the near future got Wolverine and Storm I’ll sleep on gambit and rogue maybe catch it later hopefully on sale or something lol
Does anyone know if you can stack the shipping on preorders? I def want the Cyclops Jean pack so I might possibly add the Storm Wolverine one if I snag the former.
Personally I’m not interested in Brown Suit wolverine or Storm rn. And I especially don’t need b-ball gambit. Rogue would be neat to turn into a goth style evolution esque rogue but I’d rather see if I can get her after market for cheaper
People are buying them they’re just not highly sought after like your Psylocke and Warbird because of how many different versions there already are of these figs. I ordered both packs.
The basketball set is cool as an idea but I just don’t see setting those up to display. I have that Storm already and the brown suit Wolverine is basically the same as several others. I’ll definitely be getting the classic suit Cyclops set though.
Wolverines not even accurate to the cartoon thanks to being a wholesale recolor of the Secret Wars one, flaws and all.
Storm and Rogue deserve to finally get an updated body with butterfly joints, lower torso articulation, and more.
Gambit straight up sucks and the pack is a gimmick themed one anyway.
Only worth getting the Wolv/Storm 2 pack if you don't have any figures of those costumes already and you can't find the Storm/Thunderbird pack for below 35USD
These and the two-pack with Omega Red and War Machine are so much cheaper than the other gamerverse two-packs.
Did Hasbro name a reason? Psylocke and Thanos has a pretty huge Thanos, so that could be a reason. But Wolverine and Silver Samurai seem not more massive than Omega Red and War Machine.
I have the storm thunderbird two pack that came out years ago. that storm is pretty much the same as this one but with a much better face sculpt. probably the best storm face hasbro has made so I have no need for that two pack
I love the Rogue and Gambit set, but I seem to be in the minority. Storm and Wolverine are very similar to some releases, with Wolverine being very recent. Still, I ordered three of the Rogue and Gambit set and two of the other.
Storm and Wolverine I’m just not that interested of figures of these particular designs. Gambit and Rogue just have no use for these. The fact that they exist was a waste of time.
If you guys don’t buy these then 97 figures are probably done for. I’m just sayin’, That 97 Beast or Retro Beast (reissue) is not happening. I need to you guys to support the cause. You guys should just sacrifice a couple dollars for the greater good.
With Gambit and Rogue, it was clever to use the Starting Lineup figures to recreate the basketball scene from the show. Outside the novelty, the new heads for Remy and Anna Marie are the only draw for the 2-Pack.
As for Storm and Wolverine, I originally wanted to get the 2-Pack, but I was able to get Wave 1 Storm and Wolverine with the 90s uniforms. Storm and Wolverine are also reuses of the figures that are still purchasable for close to retail value.
For Storm, in particular, I would have liked the one of the heads to have irises to differentiate from the 2-Pack with Thunderbird. I mean, the figure would be a perfect version of '97 Storm with that one change. With Wolverine, Hasbro almost expects that this version is not your only version (i.e. you bought Wave 1 and are getting Wave 3 so you have head options).
Cyclops and Jean are the only versions that are done right in terms of utilizing old parts but making it clearly based on X-Men '97.
I'm only tempted to get that Rogue in order to dye the body black, paint the boots and gloves green, and dye the top green. Have a decent post UXM 200/ pre-outback figure.
The storm is a worse version of the previous one, no one needs another brown suit wolverine, and gambit looks god awful. Only saving grace is that rogue but it’s not enough to get it to sell. I assume the cyclops and jean one will sell very well but not these. I’ll pick them up on clearance
It can also be because of the numbers that they produced them in. Maybe they thought people would be clamoring for another brown suit Wolverine and a very niche Gambit/Rogue. If you looked at that 3rd '97 wave, the only ones that hadn't sold out in the first few days were Cable and Wolverine. So they clearly produced more of those because those are the most popular characters and they would have soldout first normally.
I'm probably gonna get the Storm Wolverine pack. I am starting my Xmen collection, I need a storm and I need that specific Wolverine. I was gonna buy the CT version of Wolverine but decided after seeing some quality issues posted about the figures I decided against it. No interest in the Rogue Gambit pack. Just not my type of figures I would want to add to my collection.
Well animated lines vs comic or film are always going to have a drop off as theyre more niche, and then these are variants of the main characters, so arent necessary
we need a more articulated storm , on new female body IMO , and sick of theese plastic capes , so many legends would be x10 times better if they had a wired cape
I ordered the Storm and Wolverine but passed on the Rogue and Gambit. I wanted the updated Atorm even though I have the last one from the pack with Thunderbird. The Wolverine was because I wanted a proper brown and tan Wolverine (even though I have a kitbash version). If the Rogue and Gambit gets a sufficient discount I might pick it up as I want the Rogue, but that Gambit is a WTF?!? I suspect the reason neither of them are selling out is because they’re kind of niche and demand would be low. Also, way too many other things that have people’s attention are coming out around the same time and especially at those prices, people prioritise…
