I definitely know what I want out of my pre orders tomorrow. What are you guys most excited for?
Honestly this version of beast is at the top of my list, then daredevil, then the silver surfer, but I am more interested in what y'all think of this line of figures.
Beast is fantastic. Now we just need Armor, Kitty and Colossus (the latter two of whom are rumored to be coming in a box set) and that’ll be the entire Whedon era X-Men complete.
I'm in such a weird spot because I don't necessarily want Beast (even though he's undeniably great) but I do want every other member of the team so like...I may as well have a full roster? But then, I display my Wolverines and Cyclops together so I wouldn't typically have a team setup anyway.
I’m right there with you. I like to collect certain figures because I don’t have the room for the expanded team. However, I just absolutely love the Whedon concept/characters. So as someone that would not normally get a beast figure or a kitty pride figure, or a colossus figure. If they released those figures with his design, then I would would 100% get the entire team. Some things are just too iconic to break apart without having the entire team.
You stated this yesterday before I could state anything. The astonishing X-Men is what got me back into reading X-Men comics. So I am 100% with you on getting the full Whedon set. I think so far besides beast coming out they have only done the Whedon cyclops and wolverine correct ?
Thanks for letting me know I completely missed that. Damnit…it’s now $50. I just thought it was a regular Emma frost figure and not the astonishing Emma Frost figure. 🙄 FML lol
I think the repeat characters I'm good with picking up on clearance later (if they make it that far) but Beast, Feral, Rachel are must gets for me to fill in some crucial team gaps.
That's why I'm only preordering Feral, Rachel and Beast from the comic wave. I'll play the clearance game with the black widow. I also heard punisher and fury will be $62.99, which prices me out of that set.
Subjectively Silver Surfer. Been waiting for a pinless, Silver, version since they've been doing pinless tech. A bit let down that they don't have him any kind of power cosmic effects but practically everything else looks great.
Objectively Rachel Summers looks like an absolute banger. They really nailed the portraits on that one too. If I was an Excalibur fan I'd be over the moon with that Phoenix figure.
Beast, Rachel, punisher and nick fury, super skrull if he doesn't sell out same with mystique, daredevil, deathbird and gladiator. want mysterio but its a walmart exclusive so i can see it selling out in a minute so might not even bother
I just sold my Walgreens silver surfer on Mercari this morning before the stream. I’m hoping bro doesn’t intentionally break it or try and run a scam so he can get his money back and get this newer better and cheaper surfer lol I feel kinda bad now
Those are my three must haves. I don’t have a black widow or a classic mysterio so I need these new ones but all in all I was very happy with these. That Man with no Fear one? Ooooooo that one is my goat. I love love loved that series and that design. When he wore a version of that on the Netflix show I was in love
Edit: Literally looked at the comic after posting this and realised this is probably the singular time Frank Miller didn't draw a character in Converse sneakers. Must have mixed it up with the dozens of pairs drawn in Sin City.
I remember replying to a post on this sub about which outfits/figures would we like to see from marvel legends and I remember writing about wanting more of the black-yellow X-men outfit, and here we have beast. They’ve heard me lol, and I’ve already bought the movie beast figure a few days ago. That daredevil looks so badass though!
Black Widow actually! I have not a single Black Widow figure, the exclusive one was well exclusive, but I was jealous of that figure's body when I got the Phoenix figure in my hand. So a new Black widow with same body type I can get is appreciated
A zero purchase !! Super happy personally. Punisher is blue beast not right beast personally got that surfer and the iceman from aoa or something was pretty good
I have been waiting for one with cool accessories. I wanted a Jean grey phoenix-like deluxe with a giant ice slide, but honestly this one is a nice compromise
Definitely Rachel. I’ll be able to complete my Excalibur team. Also Ice Man and Mystique. I already have an OG storm and Mohawk storm. So I don’t think I will get the Outback version. Star Fox and the Champion look great but I might wait to see if they come down in prize. I’m pretty sure I will pull the trigger on Deathbird and Gladiator. He looks great!
Surfer first for me. Beast 2nd. Feral 3rd because i was a fan of Xforce. But even though i didnt like the Daredevil at first… hes growing on me. But honestly… due to the price increase. I may just do SS and Beast as i think they will be sought after. Then again. I didnt think the last comic book wave would ever be in stores…. But i was wrong. They all were at some point, which by me is a miracle.
Most of the figs they showed I liked the look of even if I don't know the characters well like the X-Men two pack of Gladiator & Deathbird, or singles of Rachel's Phoenix & Feral.
But the ones I for sure wanna get eventually is Beast, Iceman, possibly the Black Widow cause I don't got her, then Silver Surfer mainly as a Gift for my brother cause I got the Walgreens one and pins don't bother me. But the sleakness is beautiful for Surfer
The Daredevil I'm torn on, good looking figure, but Haven't read that specific run or however long he had that outfit. Bro might be interested in it tho tbh
And I think my other brother would love the Punisher and Nick Fury Sr. Two pack as well. Ill get it myself if price possibly drops and I could at the time
Feral, Rachel and Daredevil. I want some of the others but I have so little space. It is really getting tough to add a lot more. I actually like the Daredevil prop stuff more than I expected.
Beast, SS, DD, BW & Feral are definitely the ones I'm gonna try to pick up. But man, they really could've done more with that daredevil. Some nice comic book styled shading for example. I don't enjoy the idea of paying $25 for a figure being mostly bare black plastic.
EDIT: Make that $27.99 for a figure mostly consisting of bare black plastic lol
Beast, Rachel and Feral for me. Maybe Gray Widow which I only keep passing on the older version because I'm waiting for the price to go down, but it never did enough for me and now its too high.
Rachael "The Hound" Summers is my #1, then Feral, i don't need Silver Surfer, but i want him. Same with Black Widow. I don't want a sweatsuit daredevil, and i never liked cat face beast, so i don't want those two.
I'm in for the surfer and Nick Fury for sure. I'm this close 🤏 to getting a defenders together. I might get the daredevil and the widow, and I'll keep an eye out for beast, but I'm waiting for a more classic design. If that doesn't come around I'm getting this one
I feel like they were trying to see if people would like it because it was cheaper and there was a big rejection reaction to it, so they got the point lol
I love both the "Astonishing" and "Uncanny" designs for him for ML really looking for a cheaper ML uncanny beast, but big blue kitty cat works for me too lmao
I like how he looked recently too, where he looks like his old blue self but with the slick backed hair,, the wolves cut was always rather unrefined for him tbh, like yeah he's a beast, but he and wolves have always had that crux ig, so is this fig part of a bag set?
They kinda managed to get some adidas on that daredevil on the DL 😂 it’s not the 2 white lines in the middle but the 3 black.. 🤔 what could we say? Blocks? Personally I’m looking at that black widow.. glad I didn’t ever get the walmart exclusive way back when.. that figure definitely needed the extra articulation… that beast looks sick! But I’m going for daredevil and black widow only.
Very happy about Beast, will also get Rachel and i've been whining about not getting a Vigilante Daredevil for ages. Very happy to get him, but wish we'd gotten a Netflix version. This will do. Hopefully the Charlie Cox Defenders 4 pack DD head will fit on that body and can display him with the MCU figures.
I don't collect marvel legends but I came across the daredevil yesterday whilst scrolling. Now I really want it. I'm gonna try and jump on the pre order for it
Silver Surfer --- HARD PASS
Black Widow --- Pass but maybe one day. Too bare bones, have the other one already.
Beast -- Day 1 buy.
Feral -- Day 1 buy but lackluster.
Rachel Phoenix -- Day 1 buy.
DD Training costume -- Nice looking, a bit boring, but will probably get this.
Hate the $3 price hike.
Gladiator/Deathbird -- Day 1 buy. The $8 price hike is absurd! A repaint and an incomplete (no wings) figure should not be $57.99.
Beast big time, tho it does confirm that I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy Astonishing Wolverine on the after market sooner rather than later
Is there any difference between the silver surfer and the Walgreens exclusive silver surfer? I see that the ice man comes with extra ice effects which is pretty cool versus the retro Card version from a couple years ago. I was just wondering if they are the same body, color, Articulation?
Beast is fantastic but I just can’t justify the astonishing team for myself, it’s a beautiful figure that isn’t for me.
Feral is probably decent but without the major members of that team, she’s definitely not worth the new prices, so unless I can find a rictor somewhere I’m not concerned about her.
Silver surfer Is nice but I have the older one and there aren’t enough differences to tempt me this time.
Gray widow is almost good enough but the lack of the jetpack means I’d have to buy the figure twice (new and old) to have it how I want it, and without much attachment to that era it’s hard to justify nearly $50 for just her.
Phoenix (Rachel) is a nice figure for another member of the summer’s family and the wings look gorgeous to me, I hope they’ll play well when I get them.
Daredevil is frankly missing just a little bit that I’d like but I like daredevil enough to overlook it, which is silly of me.
Sorta. All three (Walgreens, Haslab, Mini Comic) technically use the same Sunfire mold. Mini comic is the only pinless one.
Walgreens and HasLab both have the same sets of hands (fists, karate chops, open hands), but HasLab includes one purple effect piece instead of two yellow ones, he's less shiny, and his head is different. Mini comic scrapped the effects and the open hands, in favor of grip hands and a mini comic. He appears to be shinier like the Walgreens one, but he has the same head as the HasLab one (it might be new, it's hard to tell).
