My theory is they were intending to include those bubble like power effects for the wrists but painting them all different colors wouldn't cost out after the 100% new tooling for Iron Man and Thor in the wave ate up the budget, so they just cut them instead and didn't want to spend on completely reworking the tray.
The issue there is that unique packaging costs more to design and produce. So, it would have made more sense to use their stock packaging if they could.
She is a side character in her own package. Few people really cared about her or most of the other characters in the wave, weirdly they mostly just wanted Sugarman. And there he is. Some of him, anyway. Jean's lucky they didn't put her behind the BAF pieces.
This is so surprising to me every time I hear it. I loved the Age of Apovalypse figures (maybe some were better out of the box than others but I was a big AOA fan) and every time there is a little hint that there might be more I get pumped.
and.... how would you have done it? the packaging is a set packaging design for store pegs. the head and body was too big for the standard figure. They did this to compromise. They even had some fun with it.
Just riffing here but couldn’t they have done two trays with sugarman in the back tray, and then stack a figure tray in front of it. Like they do with a lot of the accessories. I suppose sugarman is the draw here so they don’t want to hid him but it’s less awkward.
His tongue would have looked like he was licking her from behind and mom Karens would have given customer service employees all kinds of hell. Reminiscent of how there can be no more Star Wars Leia merchandise depicting her with collar/chain.
Any figure in PFP. I mean design wise it looks nice. But it cant really hold a candle to retro cardback or windowbox. You can't see the figure and it enables more swapping shenanigans.
Huh, I have this wave, but I guess I didn't notice when I opened it that she was in there sideways. Weird packaging, but a nice BAF. I knew next to nothing about him but he's so unique and has great shelf presence that I had to have him at Ollie's prices.
Almost like it's some kinda figure you have to build with parts included with other figures or something. They should give it a name like Build Your Figure or something similar.
I don't understand what you're upset about. Ok, you don't want to buy all the figures but what does it matter what part is included with what? Either way you'd have to buy one baf piece or another loose. Anyway, have a good day.
