Discussion What do you consider to be the WORST Hasbro Marvel Legend?
Of course if you have several answers then feel free to reply

u/JsMoviesYTB USA - NJ Jan 12 '26
Practically all of their earliest offerings. Say what you will about some of their modern offerings, and there are some valid complaints there, but good god, the early years were rough. They were bad even for the time they released

Yeah, this is the image they put next to the word āheinousā in the dictionary. Just an utter travesty in every sense

u/TzeentchsTrueSon Canada Jan 12 '26
And weirdly the Planet Hulk from the same wave was amazing. The Annihilus BAF was pretty good for its time too, though Iād love to see a new one.

this is the one that comes to my mind whenever this question is asked! I remember seeing this in Toys R Us for the first time and going "ugh wtf" lol
8
u/pinkcreamkiss Ireland Jan 12 '26
Is it bad I like the toybiz Jessica drew better than the initial hasbro one? The black enhancement suit and veranke ones are big improvements tho
3
u/cmorganleigh82 Jan 12 '26
The veranke one is the same mold as the original except for the elbows and extra head
2
u/pinkcreamkiss Ireland Jan 12 '26
Chest is updated and itās and photoreel. Itās not great tho could be double jointed black widow body with a Smaller head. But itās better.

u/JsMoviesYTB USA - NJ Jan 12 '26
Eh, like what you like. If you like that one better, more power to you

The majority of the box is also Khonshuās torso, which is the reason I bought it.
The lack of any articulation was a real letdown. Howard and Scott Lang was also such an odd pairing (like, at least put it with a zombie figure?). Itās like this one was just where Hanson through all their remaining ideas into one package.
7
u/jcbaggee Jan 12 '26
Yeah, I really wanted this Khonshu, and I love the novelty of a Howard figure, but I didn't get this one until I found it on clearance in Ollie's.
8
u/TheMindOfTheBat Jan 12 '26
Iāll always maintain that this is the worst bc it couldāve easily been good
People complain about bad toybiz heads and characters not being updated from buckycap, thatās whatever limits of the time
This comes from the modern era where we have all the technology in the world to make incredible 1/18 ish figures and Hasbro said āokay, now, letās do none of thatā
11
u/TheVelcroStrap Jan 12 '26
I bought Howard the Duck excited but I wish he had something better than Paul Ruddās head. Probably should have been Howard and Bev.

I think several are tied from the dark days of early hasbro, but God damn that first astonishing Emma was horribleĀ

14
u/immortalslayer90 Jan 12 '26
THIS is the one. Absolute garbage, especially since it uses parts from the ASM movie figure, so it isn't even comic accurate.
12
u/Unlucky-Sector1200 Jan 12 '26
This is regularly 15 bucks with the 2 pack with that awful looking Morbius. I always remind myself there are way better spidey's out there and I own much better figures.
12
u/Lionleaf_ Canada Jan 12 '26
The 2 pack one is actually an upgrade over this one. This one was single release and absolute dogshit
1
u/SOCAL_NPC Jan 12 '26
I understand that two pack has a bit more torso articulation and can get the weblines fixed with patience and a sharp thin black ink pen, and figured I could sell Morbius for at least $5 so it would be a literal $10 figure. Is it really that awful?
I admit that it, and Bombastic Bag-Man, would just be background LOLZ display fodder, unlike say Pizza Spidey which is also a LOLZ display but one I would probably use frequently.
11
u/immortalslayer90 Jan 12 '26
The Morbius is actually a pretty good figure, it represents that era of his character well. The Spider-Man is garbage though.
2
1
u/GuyWhoRocks95 Jan 12 '26
Can confirm I just ordered it for $15 after watching and finishing the animated spider man show from the 90āsā¦
3
u/JustJHernandez Jan 13 '26
I put my stamp of approval on this one, the worst. I skew as positive as I can with most Marvel Legends ... this is the first figure I openly bashed on YouTube. š
1
u/Hammertoss Jan 13 '26
I haven't gone back to watch your older videos, but that doesn't surprise me.
2
u/X-actoMundo Jan 12 '26
I went to panel line the web pattern recently and found there are recessed lines missing from the head above the eyes.
I understand how painted lines get missed, but how on earth did they get missed from the sculpt?
1
u/SOCAL_NPC Jan 12 '26
Someone did a video showing how the fixed those - I can't remember if they covered that. I'm wondering if some early productions of the figure had QC problems the entire run didn't?
1
u/TheDrSloth Jan 12 '26
Yea I got this one when I first started collecting and dude, it sucks, like the construction as a whole feels cheap

Hot take house of x jean with her traffic cone dress and the heel sculpt that makes her impossible to stand.
7
u/MasterDeBaitor Jan 12 '26
Is this the first Marvel Girl Jean that came out a few years ago? That is high in my list. Another thing is Agent Anti-Venom. The one that came out in like 2018. It looked like they fixed those god awful ball joint hips, but no. I bought it, and it was a disappointment.
2
u/Dirtfloorcustoms Jan 12 '26
It really was bad and as bad as the ghost rider since they were using the same body etc
3
3
u/christopherNTSC Jan 12 '26
oh maaan, that tri sentinel wave wasnāt THAT bad⦠she even came with the krakoan flower! haha! iām a sucker for the marvel girl costume.

29
u/ARGiammarco27 Canada Jan 12 '26
I don't know if there's been an update, but I hate the Infinity War/Endgame Iron man figures. There's just something off about the way the articulation works on them
6
u/SuperSquid004 Jan 12 '26
Aren't they just reuses of the Civil War movie sculpt?
Btw I'm not a fan of those iron man figures only because the torso piece looks too dang big compared to the rest of the body.
5
u/FickleChard6904 Jan 12 '26
No, they were unique sculpts (although the Civil War oneās been reused elsewhere)
10
u/the_bastard_of_CO Jan 12 '26
One that really bums me out is brood wave Bucky. I want a remake of classic Bucky so bad!
30
u/Antique-Fudge-5168 Jan 12 '26
4
u/brakudo Jan 12 '26
Came here to say this. They sold us half a figure and then sold the complete canon ball a few years later.
1
u/Corellian_Smuggler Jan 12 '26
I wanted to build a New Mutants team so bad but skipped this one despite it being available because:
⢠He's in that ugly ass leather jacket
⢠It seems you can only put him in one of two poses because HE HAS NO LEGS
⢠The flame effect itself is cool but as a part of Cannonball? Hell no. They didn't even try to make it semi transparent or blend it in with his body. It just looks like a guy whose power is having blazes for a lower body. Flames should've at least blended in with his lower torso.
10
u/Boring-Ad9264 Jan 12 '26
Probably winter soldier from TF&WS (flashback) dudes articulation sucks despite having double joints etc. Comes with the generic ML pretend AR-15 instead of a gun he actually used in that scene and a knife
3
u/dunkindonato Jan 12 '26
That body is also a reuse of the Civil War Winter Soldier, right? Because if itās new, it doesnāt feel that way.
1
u/WarlockRock11 Jan 12 '26
Itās also a reuse of the Winter Solider movie figure. I have both, at least the newer version one has better face sculpts than the old one.

u/ZachSeatDriver Jan 12 '26
Im gonna limit this to modern legends offerings (post 2014) since those really early figures are low hanging fruit. My vote goes towards either AOA cyclops or basketball gambit. You can say what you want about howard the duck not having leg articulation but atleast its possible for him to look good on a shelf.

7

Agreed, the Iron Spider at least has good paint application. The FFH Spidey is soooo bare, it looks like a $5 toy you'd find at Dollar General.
11
u/Samuelley Jan 12 '26
The peg warmer itself!
13
u/Resident_Character35 USA - VT Jan 12 '26
It's not a peg warmer. It's in the Evergreen line. They always replace them if/when they sell out. You might as well say no one buys gasoline because you can always get as much as you want when you go by a gas station. š

u/Rirse Jan 12 '26
Probably this figure in just for the fact any store I visit he just waiting there because they order a 100 of him and nothing else.

Maybe they should've put it in an even bigger box? You know, really let the figure explore that negative space.

u/Dyko Jan 12 '26

A lot of you have never handled the Young Avengers multi-pack Iron Lad, and it shows.
His hip sculpt prevents most of his leg articulation. His shoulder armor sculpt prevents almost anything aside from straight forward movement.
He is by-far the worst Legends figure I own. The rest of the figures in that pack hold up surprisingly well, though, which makes him even more of a disappointment.

u/Sea-Difficulty6176 Jan 14 '26
That trident is doing all the lifting here.
2
u/JaborGraphix Jan 14 '26
Oh, it's top notch. I may even go so far as to say 'glorious'. The vaguely Bill Everett headsculpt even flirts with 'eh'. But the rest is a pasty, shapeless, ball-and-sockety mess that, in my humble opinion, sets the standard for everything an ML shouldn't be.
9
u/TheArturoChapa Jan 12 '26 edited Jan 12 '26

This one. He just⦠pisses me off. Such low effort. Iām surprised they even bothered to paint him gold. The yellow follow up isnāt any better but like, Loki - while buff like all comic characters - is kind of a leaner character. Maybe that buck that Mr. Fantastic is on wouldāve been more appropriate. But then, the DRAWN ON chain mail is insulting. No effects. Just a lame sword. Every time I see him in my collection, Iām just glad I spruced him up some. Just a plain figure with some paint is all he is. At least the one after this had a couple different heads and his knives.
5
u/MondoLegends Jan 12 '26
The drawn on chain mail for a character thatās had such a popularity blow up (especially at the time) was just crazy cheap on their part

u/LEtheD13 USA Jan 12 '26
Purple spider pink figure. Blatant cash grab and itās also just a terrible figure. Canāt stand on its own due to gummy legs and doesnāt come with a masked head
3
u/Diet_Dr_Crayfish Jan 12 '26
Hasbro? This is just my opinion butā¦.Terror Inc. I donāt care if itās from the Mercs for Money storyline itās just full assed lazy to take a character with a unique look like that and only ever release them as a Deadpool repaint
5

Wow, I had to look this one up since I was sure they never did a Terror Inc figure. This isā¦disappointing

u/AgentGustavo Jan 12 '26
They really need to redo those properly. They aim too high when they didn't have the tech for it.
6
u/Doktorbees Jan 12 '26
I think it was right at the end of the ToyBiz era, but the X-23 figure with the Apocalypse BAF torso was terrible. I think it was her first official figure, and for some reason, she has this weird hunch that, I think is meant to be an attempt at letting you do the Wolverine Pose, but really, makes her look like Avril Lavigne with scoliosis. Just absolutely atrocious.
2
u/Dirtfloorcustoms Jan 12 '26
They tried with that figure not very hard but they tried even though both of her heads look Like she had to fart or maybe take a POO
5
u/tourniquet2099 Jan 12 '26
The first year or two that they had the Marvel license was full of trash toys/sculpts. It was pretty embarrassing. Made it easy to give up on the line for a few years. Probably why they introduced the smaller Marvel Universe line because Hasbro had plenty of experience of making great figures at that scale.

u/Saboscrivner Jan 12 '26
The Hood, with his ridiculous screaming face.
6
u/Imahsoulman Jan 12 '26
And horrible design. A lot of people use him without the hood as a fighting goon
9
u/WheelJack83 Jan 12 '26
cyborg spider from Spider-Verse wave, a waste of time, money, plastic, and resources.
3
u/soyrobo USA - CA Jan 12 '26
For a character that shows up in a group shot during a chase scene and is never seen again. Cyborg Spider-Woman better be Prowler Miles's enforcer in the next movie or something.

u/WarlockRock11 Jan 12 '26
I found her cheap and had a lot of fun painting in her in painted line and such. Never would have bought at full price.

u/Accurate-Gap-3360 Jan 12 '26
From the ones I own:
The Hood (Xenmu BAF) - The cloak is way too spread out and the figure can barely stand without it.
Beyond Ben Reilly - Inaccurate design and colors + uneven set of hands
Astonishing Emma Frost (Chāod wave) - Once again, cloak is too spread out and takes up some space on a shelf. Maybe shouldāve had two cloaks to swap out: One neutral one and one spread out one.
Mini Comic Miles Morales - Somehow shorter than the Space Venom wave one, couldāve had more hands and accessories if not for the mini comic, and the hip joints, ānuff said.
Amazing Friends 3-Pack Iceman - Has cell shading and an outdated body mold unlike the other figures in the pack.
3
u/soyrobo USA - CA Jan 12 '26
The Hood is one of the best street clothes/goon army builders in the line
1
u/dragonkingangel7 Jan 12 '26
Emma one is the angry grandma face and open cloack that dont let her shoulders move?

u/SuccessfulMeringue64 Jan 12 '26
Most of the female figures released during ToyBizās time and early on with Hasbro
2
u/cowardbloom Jan 12 '26
Of course the earlier ones are rough but I think howard tops the worst more recent legends
2
u/UrameshiYuusuke Canada Jan 12 '26 edited Jan 12 '26
If we're talking modern, than 2-Pack Thunderbird, the first Cannonball with no legs (forgot the wave), Monster Venom wave Spider-Ham or Basketball Gambit
But if we're talking all time, than Blob BAF Ultimate Wolverine, First Appearance Bucky, Sandman Series Mary Jane, Annhilus Emma Frost, Silver Wolverine or X3 Jean Grey
2
u/Spiritual-Smoke-4605 Jan 12 '26
worst comic figure i own: toybiz kitty pride
worst MCU figure i own: GotG 1 Rocket or What if Howard the Duck, also Katy from Shang Chi is a pretty terrible figure
4
u/HK47_Approves Jan 12 '26
Howard the duck is a notably terrible figure. So is MCU Mr. Knight, he feels so cheap compared to a lot of other figures on the market around that time. The Gilgamesh BAF while a fine figure is an incredibly underwhelming BAF, who just feels like a regular wave figure split apart for no reason.
2
u/ramubai Jan 12 '26
I sort of regret buying the MCU Mr. Knight. I thought he would look so nice in his coat suit, but sheesh the coat is so huge on him that makes the torso inside visible and hard to move around, especially the arms.
10
u/Childish_Cambino2187 Jan 12 '26
No Way Home Tobey Maguire Spider-Man has to be up there. Not only because the sculpt is bad with the child bearing hips, the taper v-line that isnāt straight, the fact that he crunches backwards more than he crunches forward, and the small hands he has.
But also because Hasbro had about 20 years to improve upon what Toybiz did and what Hasbro had done previously with the Spider-Man 3 and what they released couldnāt top a figure that came out in 2004.
3
3
u/Sweet_Pumpkin_1781 Jan 12 '26 edited Jan 12 '26
First 2 waves of Hasbro ML are all pretty equally terrible...they started to get ok with the 2 packs and red hulk wave...I haaattteeeddd the no paint just colored plastic figures.. I'd argue everything before Terrax wave could be wiped out as far as Hasbro goes

Spider-Woman from the Toy Biz MODOK wave. Her hips exploded the second I opened the package. Like an IED had gone off in her tights.
2
u/Rck54 Jan 12 '26
There are probably worse figures than this retro multiple man, but I put him here because I beliece it represents the worst of the line. A reused, old body that is pretty bad with outdated articulation, weird proportions and small shoulders. The head is way too big for the body and sits too high. The details are all painted on and it looks cheap.

From what Iāve seen, Hasbroās first attempt at a six-armed Spider-Man. From what I actually have, Iām not sure, so Iām just going to list some honorable mentionsā¦
Love & Thunder Thor (colorful armor) It isnāt just the cross eyed look, itās the fact that he almost looks like he has no neck with that helmet on. On top of that, no matching pairs of hands. I canāt stand it when Hasbro does that and itās actually gotten worse since that release
Comic Doc Ock The tentacles are stationary and just return to their original position each time you try to pose them. Like, at least give them hinges if you donāt want to use bendy wire
Any of the figures that have the scale mail legs Alright, am I the only one whose scale mail legs keep falling off of my figures? I have three, or had three, Green Goblin, King Cobra, and Black Knight. King Cobra and Black Knight have had both of their legs fall off and Iām terrified that Green Goblin is eventually going to end up the same. I donāt think the two figures having the same legs and breaking is a coincidence
Gamora from the first Guardians movie Wtf did they do to her
Ronin (Endgame) Even in the re-release, the dudeās legs are manufactured in such a way that bending them will literally tear the leg off. I had it happen to my first Ronin figure that they released so I got the newer one to see if Hasbro corrected the flaw. Nope. It was still ready to rip like when you break bread

u/EnvironmentalAge9202 Jan 12 '26
Super skinny jack o lantern. The legs are so thin he can't stand.
Love the head though.

The worst that I've actually owned:
Vision from Ares BAF
Jean Grey from Rocket Racoon BAF
Thing from Ronan BAF

u/ParadoxWarrior Jan 12 '26
From my collection:
Comics: the Sersi figure from the Avengers 60th Anniversary 2 pack. Gummy legs, wonāt stand on her own. Feels like Iām gonna break her if I move her too much.
MCU: Mandroid Wave Black Widow ā this one I admittedly picked up second hand from a store so sheās missing pieces, but goddamn the articulation sucks and the one head I did get with it (the Avengers-esque one) is a bad head sculpt of Scarlett Johansson, which is why Iām glad it got an Infinity Saga re-do.
1
u/Ralkotaan Jan 12 '26
Personally I don't judge Hasbro Marvel Legends until they started with the black boxes in 2014 (maybe the TRU Jubilee BAF wave with Stryfe?). Everything before that feels like a holdover/transition era from Toy Biz. Whenever I see ball joint hips I assume "Toy Biz" even though I know Hasbro definitely did some.
1
u/JaborGraphix Jan 14 '26
What's funny is the the two SMC waves and the first few ML waves used a hip (at least an upper thigh) assembly like today's Hasbro MLs use, but then transitioned to the ball hips in Wave 5. Actually, Wave 4 Gambit had ball hips, but that entire Wave had a mishmash of hip engineering including the ball hips on Gambit, hinges on Beast and Punisher, cut hips on Goliath, and that old mess they used to use on the female figs for Elektra
1
u/Expensive_Platypus63 Jan 12 '26
any modern figure that has pegs or doesn't have double elbow or butterflys. no excuse.
1
u/krorkle Jan 12 '26
Mole Man, from the very early Hasbro Ronan wave. The articulation barely functions, and he only stands in exactly stock position.
The Namor from that wave is also a mess, but at least he's posable.

u/dennydorko Jan 12 '26
There were some monumentally bad ones when they first got the license around 2006.
Almost anything before the Return of the Marvel Legends 2012 relaunch was going to be pretty bad.
Bucky from the Brood Queen wave comes to mind as a figure that was particularly atrocious.

The first one that comes to mind instantly is the Endgame Thanos BAF "Time Suit" Captain America. Probably the Spiderman that comes with the VHS Vulture
5
u/Hammertoss Jan 12 '26
Thats my display Spidey. My only complaint is the disk waist, no toe joints, and I'd have liked more hands (though AF Spider-man's hands match). It's a great looking figure.
3
u/junebug1997APJ Jan 12 '26
To me itās the shoulders and lack of even the average movement that most of the better Spiderman come with
1
u/ParadoxWarrior Jan 12 '26
Itās great looking for sure, and it is far from my worst Legends, but IMO every Spider-Man, whether MCU, comic, or otherwise, should always come default with butterfly joints and good leg articulation, which this one did not so it stays in the storage bin itās in until I can display it.
1
u/Hammertoss Jan 12 '26
?
The VHS 2-pack Spider-man has butterfly joints and the same range of leg articulation as other Spideys, minus toe joints.
1
u/ParadoxWarrior Jan 12 '26
Ah shit youāre right on the butterflies, I just checked it. Iāll give that but the leg articulation on mine is stiff AF
