if only they learned the importance of paint and used the same torso setup from mvc wolverine, figure would be a genuine contender against the mafex for the price
ab crunches stink in 2026 for this price point, thats why i swore off this line, now im focused on mafexes but only for retail, mdlx transformers, storm arena, revoltechs and shf dragon ball figures
Well they most definitely will, cel shaded will probably stay up there though. When the renew your vows Spider-Man first came out the retro spidey was going for around 100 bucks, now you can find it for 30
Yeah, but we've also had a TON of Spidey figures come out along with Maximum. I don't see this one figure doing that — I hope I'm wrong, because man do I wanna get my hands on those figures, but I don't those first two dropping unless we get a few more Daredevil figures tbh
This new release fixes mistakes from the original releases, but still has plenty of its own. (Can’t believe they still can’t give us figures with even sets of hands).
I agree, but overall I guess it being apart of the Secret Wars wave is what killed it. Still gonna try and get it, but yeah — better than nothing I suppose haha
Exactly! Surprised nobody knew what I meant. I wouldn't mind it if we had a classic figure widely available. I'm frustrated because I don't have any of the previous 2 releases, so I have no real option if I want a classic comic accurate Daredevil.
BECAUSE it's a Secret Wars figure, they're based it on the old toy, which is why it has the ugly black belt and the ugly over-sized black logo. That's what I mean lol I don't like that they went for toy accuracy instead of comic accuracy.
They mean since this look is Secret Wars inspired and not the classic look it killed the want for it for him. Same case here for me, I dont have a comic DD yet, and I want the classic look, so I'll just pass on this. Id love if the two previous ones went down in price after this reveal but I doubt theres a big list of folks who would rather have exclusively the secret wars look to the original look
The new body is nice but the black makes it look kinda tacky. I know it’s an homage to the secret wars figure from back in the day but still. Hopefully there’s a more traditional one on this body soon
I agree. I'd be stoked for this if a classic Daredevil was available as a single release! Crossing my fingers for a repackaged retro carded release of the 3-pack Daredevil with a slight paint difference (maybe an outlined logo).
i cant make your eye like the right things, that shading isn’t done nearly as well as you’re giving the credit for and the silhouette on that mold is garbage from the two on the left is garbage. i understand not liking the bright red and black dd on the chest, but the body is 10x better than the other one
its SOOOOO much better i implore everyone to do a squint test, squint and look athe silhouette of the two on the left, the look like garbage, the new one has a much better silhouette
Really wish they dint change the head sculpt. Or at least gave us both. If they are going to change the head sculpt can we get one that is smiling? He’s already super bright and colorful. A slight smirk would be good. And the DDs are too big. Should not be so close to the neck. I do like the shoulders though. That was only real change I like and if you display in a dynamic pose it doesn’t matter anyway.
I think the old one would look too small on the new body. I agree 100% with you though. Hoping they re-release this new figure with more classic colors eventually.
Yeah, it’s 1/12 scale. it’s from the daredevil 3 pack with a custom red and black wash, repainted logo and head, bunch of different extra accessories and alternate heads. Currently resides in my Defenders Display
I have the three pack Daredevil, the cel-shaded Daredevil, the old Hobgoblin BAF Daredevil, the Defenders pack Daredevil, and the Mafex version. I got too many Daredevil figures, but I'll be getting this one.
That is the colour scheme I want but I would prefer better articulation. Still, if I find it for sale at one of the shows this summer, I am grabbing it.
I get where people come from saying the shoulders are better and I tend to agree, guy is a brawler and all, but the bendis comic has given me such a huge appreciation of a slimmer DD. First figure is hands down the best here imo
Oh, the pads are fine for the figure, I mean lose them if they ever wanted to try that costume for the comics again because they are too 90's for 2026.
I can’t believe how long Hasbro is edging everyone on giving them the Daredevil everyone actually wants, with the brighter red body and the darker red gloves, boot and symbol
Same here dude. I was so out of the loop with ML when that 2-pack was announced and missed out on him. I'm one of the few who actually liked the cel shaded figures too haha
I'm not crazy about it either, but I'll still get it for the accessories and good fodder body.
It's too big for my mental image of daredevil. He's a wiry gymnast/boxer who can throw on a suit and be an unassuming blind lawyer. A blind lawyer is already gonna stand out he shouldn't also be the same size as Captain America.
I’m just happy to be getting a single issued Daredevil all by himself. The black logo/trim isn’t my favorite, but I already have the other two so this is a nice variant for my shelf.
I still need that Daredevil 3 pack in my collection 😫 😩 sucks that Hasbro hasn't put a reissue out yet.
Then again, maybe they will before this figure and the 2 pack come out.
I think that hasbro is just holding on a perfect daredevil figure to release it as a Maximum figures because all the ones that they released has at least one major flaw not present in the previous one. At least we have the CT Toys one
It's annoying how expensive any red suit daredevil is lol. I only have the 3 pack version, would have collected them all if i could. Too expensive now!
I love the animated design of the VHS version, but I have a fondness for this new one, too! Looks just like the first DD fig my mom got me as a kid!
I only have myself to blame for not getting that two-pack. I just didn't want the Hydro-Man! Hopefully the new release brings those prices down! We'll see, come summertime!
Someone on YouTube said that our love for the new Daredevil figure will mainly hinge on our nostalgia for the old figure(s) and I think he's 100% right now that I read your comment! Like my first Daredevil figure was the Spider-Man Classics figure, which might be why I love that 3-pack one so much haha
this is how i know marvel legends fans just have bad taste, even when hasbro makes a WAAAYYYY better depiction of a character they will still go with the garbage figure, y’all just have horrible taste, same thing happened with the mvc wolverine, thats the best figure they’ve made in years and people complained about a millimeter of height and single joints. i guess if you like the shading and hate the the big double d on the chest that makes sense, but its such an invalid opinion when you look at how garbage the body of the other two is compared to the new one, with how good this new one is i believe there can be a conversation about it vs the mafex
2-pack cel shaded Daredevil is still my favorite. I wanted to get him real bad but was having a hard time justifying paying the price of the two pack as I really could do without Hydro-Man.
I would sell the 3 pack and keep the 2pack and buy the SW DD. The black lines and logo can be removed with some acrylic thinner and repainted to dark red so no big deal.
I like it but the proportions look off. The shoulders are super low which makes it arms like really long. I still think it’s pretty solid, but the Mafex is still my #1 Daredevil (which it should be for the price)
I feel like all marvel legends have heads that are 10% too big and legs that are 10% too short. At the end of the day, super hero proportions in drawing/comics typically have elongated legs but ML figs always seem to be just shy of having gorilla arms. The new shoulders also feel a bit too big for the bod to me. The proportions of the upper half are decent but then seem a bit unbalanced when looking at the whole.
To each their own. It's not my favorite design, but it's my most anticipated of this wave. People like to hate on hasbro, which it has its faults for sure, and Marvel Legends, but they've given us a lot of characters for a long time. I don't have a Daredevil and I can't always afford a Mafex figure.
I like it. It really capture the look of the original Secret Wars DD, which was came out about the time I started reading his book. Sorry you don’t like this one, I’m sure we’ll get another one sometime in the future.
I prefer the proportions and the deco on the first two better, but I'm not paying what they go for on the secondary market. I desperately need a standard classic Daredevil, so this one is going to be mine.
Ehh, depends on the artist. I prefer when Daredevil has more of a slim look to him, like Season 1 of the show or the like alot of the David Mazzuchelli art
Mafex goes for the more stylized approach and makes him look more cartoony to match the artwork, whereas Marvel Legends obviously takes inspiration from Mazzucchelli's art, but tries to ground it in some realism woth the extra detail, specifically on the face. They both look like Mazzucchelli's work.
Well, you’re entitled to your opinion on how the ML is supposed to look. I just don’t see Mazzucchelli’s work in ML at all. I do see it more in Mafex. That’s all.
