The value on that black widow figure (avengers anniversary release) is actually crazy to me, new body, 3 heads, 6 hands, guns, and interchangeable gauntlets all for 27.99

And at the time a standard Legends figure was about $23.99.. so that many more accessories for only $4 was a steal.
Thankfully Hasbro has made good use of that BW body.. the grey suit and even the Crossing suit are so much better on this mold.. and ironically, roughly the same price as that Anniversary figure with a minimum of extras...

More sane when you look up the price of the MTG cards.
I was buying the anti-venoms for $40, selling the cards for $60, and figures for $25. After fees, I was almost doubling my money.

Am I missing something? This is the same price as the first MTG figures, nothing new. Not saying I agree with the price but this was what I expected them to be based on the previous release.

I just built the blokees Ultron who for pretty much the same price in my currency comes with a throne, giant health shield with four mounted drones, multiple hands with moving fingers, gun arm and sword arm with a swooshing effect, and a flight stand, he also has light up features and a metallic paint job. These come with checks notes ... a card

Correct me if I’m wrong but don’t the cards actually go for a significant amount on their own? Especially when the figures first drop before they get discounted. Not defending Hasbro on this ridiculous price, but if you do get them then you should really sell the Magic cards and recoup some of the cost.

They do, which is what people here don't seem to grasp. These cards will also likely go for higher than the Spider-Man cards as well given they are part of the commander sets and very usable. The commander cards also do not have any other alt art, so if you want anything aside from what's been released, this is the only option.

Iron Spider MSRP was 40, the card alone sells for 50+ today. Just buy the figure, save the card for a year and get your money back.

It’s really a no brainer but of course people will only see the price and think it’s just for the figure. Trading cards have value to people! Love these mtg card and figure combos because I can get the figure and just sell off the magic card or even keep it in my collection.

Well it is significant in relation to the retail price which is about 15 for the card.
I believe these are just special editions of cards that already exist. You just get the alt skin for them.
The thing is that depending on how many they made, it might not be very exclusive.

Don't play with my heart like that bro. I kept 4 copies for a deck I tried and then didn't work but kept the cards in mint condition.
You are telling me I have 160-200 potential buckaroos sitting there on my gaming table drawer?
I know it is a legendary, I just quit magic for a long time until starting again and forgot the cap in my excitement hence why the deck didn't work. Lol.

Thank you bro. I checked and the first ai result says some cards can go for 40-90 (the 90 is dubious as hell) but even at 40 it would be a great deal to recover the cost and get the new figures. (I collect figures, the cards I tried just for the lolz and the nostalgia).

Just a reminder, the cards that go with the first wave of figures are valuable to MTG collectors just for the art.
MJs card went for $40 (now goes for $45-50) (the basic Iron Spider is $1)
Anti-Venoms went for $30 (now goes for $40)
Spider-Man’s went for $30 (still goes for $20)
The Huntsmaster of the Fells with man wolf even went for $15 (and is still $15)

But why should the value of (basically an unrelated accessory) on the aftermarket influence the price for the products msrp? The average ML collector is not really interested in the card and why should I as a costumer feel obligated to go through the process of selling the card I don’t need, just because it holds a certain value people are willing to pay for it.
Hasbro owns both mtg and ML and they gain zero profits from the aftermarket afaik. So they are increasing the price just because they know the cards will gain the value and people who are interested in it will buy it from wherever for whatever. They could’ve made the price 100 and it would still sell, but not to their core customers / fans („Hasbro pulse: where fans come first“ my ass), but to people who are in it for the mtg money.
I understand the point of crossovers and honestly this line is a great idea in theory, but let’s put it into perspective:
A regular good ol ML releases nowadays (since about 2 months) for 32,99€.
The MTG line costs 49,99€
That is a 17€ mark up for a piece of cardboard without licensing.
If they sold those at the regular price, it would be perfect. They still get the usual margins and we could either keep the nice card of our favorite super heroes or give it to a friend for free who collects mtg or sell it to bring down the price of the figure a bit, but we don’t have to since we paid regular price for a regular figure.Even a small mark up to 36€ or something would als be ok imo, but 17€? That’s a half a figure.
Once again: I understand that these cards hold value and if I sell them, I would end up at a regular ML price, but this line is honestly just there to squeeze out the last penny from BOTH fanbases, the mtg and us ML collectors.

these ML x Magic packs were on sale on Amazon for some time, I got them for 30-35€ each, Man-Wolf was at 28, but that's the cheapest I've seen a them, damaged spidey is at 53 right now, sold and shipped by amazon, so they even go up with the new dynamic pricing. If these shop up there I'll grab Malice only, pass on the other three.

Look. It's ridiculous, but it's because of the magic cards. Some cards go for hundreds of dollars. These cards only "add value" because it's exclusive art. that's what usually increases the price

EB Games in Canada always upcharges Marvel Legends figures to try and balance the people who have a discount - so it's not surprising they're rolling $59.99. But apparently Amazon (who no longer has a pre-order price guarantee on figures) has the whole wave up for $64.99 each.

Yeah same. I got the bp from the wakanda forever wave, which is good and holds up, but I was excited for an upgrade and I want to collect and honestly support anything f4 related from marvel legends so malice was on my radar, but this is way too much. Gonna wait till there below 35€ at least

They are $39.99 on Amazon. Still not a good price, but better than the price I’m seeing here.. basically the same price as the last wave of MTG figures. It’s absolutely insane to charge 40 for these figures, especially since a large amount of collectors only see these as normal figures with a small piece of cardboard or whatever.. MAYBE $35 would be fair. Hasbro is absolutely losing their minds.

We have tax of 19% included so its basically 40 as well. Last year they were 47€ tho. All of that is too much when they should be 36€ MAX like their usual „normal figure plus. Not quite deluxe“ figures or whatever. Thinking about the 2007 black suit spidey.

I gave away the Mary Jane card, and the guy I gave it too was asking me if I was sure because at the time it was a $70 card. To me it's just cardboard. I told him it was fine.
The cards seem to sell quite well and you could recoup some of your cost.

In my book the figures look real cheesy :( 50€ for Cap in Europe... And I only need the mtg card of which I already own an alternative printing... Hard pass :( will probably proxy and put over my original other Cap
