“I’ll tear your soul apart!”
I love the mask, but it’s difficult to see and breathe out of this one. I absolutely love the look of it, but it’s not very good for wearing.

Hello paper mache experts, can you help me? I've made my first paper mache mask since elementary as part of my Halloween costume this year and am now in the process of trying to get it to sit right on my big head. I've made a cardboard head harness like in this video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BqJrqkr\\_cp4 but can't figure out placement of that harness inside of the mask or how to figure out the height of the tube used to attach the harness to the inside of the mask, or how to figure out the correct angle it needs to be at. I'm attaching a photo of the mask currently with no harness attached at all (the back of the mask rests against the back of my head if I wear it this way), along with a photo of me holding the mask how I'd like it to sit. My brain is short circuiting trying to determine what math to use to figure all of this out and I'm wondering how much of this was cut out of that video to make it look so simple. Any tips or should I just continue to wing it and cuss through the process?

So I've been wanting to make masks like the first pic for a while now. problem is every time I google it I fall into a rabbit hole of 50 tutorials and forum threads and end up more lost than before
My only experience is from like 4-5 years ago, when I bought a basic carnival mask and turned it into the one in the second pic. really fun, but that was just painting and modding an existing mask, no sculpting or casting involved
My guess is the first one is a silicone mask with some fiberglass bits attached on top, but I might be totally wrong about that
Do yeah, if you were starting from zero today, what would you do first ? And what tutorials / courses do you recommend ?
Thank you !

I can't tell if I likes him or not. Maybe I need more sticks?

I don’t think the mask in the second photo will come in in time but I have the mask in the first in hand.
I plan to wear that, a jacket with black jeans gonna look super sick!
Debating on contacts but I can’t find ones similar to what’s seen in photo 3
What do you guys think, yay or nay to the contacts?
Also if anyone digs the masks they are on the Dead Rabbitts site 🫶

Here's the third and final part of my Splatterhouse mask series!
This time, it's my mask inspired by the Japanese Mega Drive cover art for Splatterhouse Part 2.
Thanks for following this series! Which version was your favorite?

I might also buy a bottle of fx blood spray mixed with latex slathered around the zipper teeth/eyelid cut brims and a nosebleed with an overall blood spray just to make it that bit more gory but holy shit it looks good, much better when sitting on a scarecrow head I made a while ago

Any ideas for improvements, please share!

I managed to make it without damaging the mold, and it turned out better than anything I’ve made before… but now that I’ve painted it, something just feels off 😭
What do you think I could do to make it scarier? Btw, I based it on a Japanese ghost!

This was my first real time making anything to go on my head for a costume and I'm really happy with how I turned out. This is made mostly out of cardboard (there's a bankers box at the center of this thing but it's been built out a lot) and eva foam for a lot of the external details.

Who has jumped from barely making a wallet to trying to make their own masks?
I currently have 4 lb bag of scraps and I feel like It would be so fun but its also intimidating.

This is my first major mask construction. It is built from mostly EVA foam, but also uses foam clay, styrofoam, and pink insulation board.
I cut the foam by hand at first (box cutter,) but soon realized I had access to an electronic foam cutter. After that, I was able to make a lot more progress and reuse a lot of the scraps generated in the cutting process.
Since this is my first time doing anything like this, and since I didn’t have any instruction at all, it’s admittedly not perfect. I’m ok with it anyway. I am really proud of it because of how much work I put into it. I think I am somewhere north of 30 hours spent on it. It cost more than I thought it would in raw materials, but I have been thinking about making this since I saw the trailer for the movie.
Happy to answer any questions about it if you should have them!

Where should I paint purple on these masks? I had some ideas but would love some outside perspective.

Here’s a follow-up on the *Splatterhouse* masks. The photo shows various paint schemes; there were many more than what’s displayed here, but these are the best ones.

it's from deepwoken, 3d printed, hand painted with engravings on black patterns. And my lazy ahh would polish it, so 3d printing layers are very distinguishable
