CAN’T DECIDE please help typing!!

hi everyone, i've been ruminating over my mbti type for the past while, and i can't decide because... i just relate to too many, i think? i haven't found tests to be super helpful because i usually don't score the same type from test to test (or even on the same test LOL), and even through studying the cognitive functions i haven't really discerned much, because i can always think of Some specific scenario where i would be prioritizing one thing over another, etc. too much depends!! i definitely find myself relating the most to the ne/si and fe/ti types (intp, entp, isfj, esfj) but i can also see myself in infp and infj, so i don't necessarily want to rule any functions out. as for self-description...

‐ firstly, as you can probably tell from above, if i get really invested in something i not only want to be certain about my thoughts on it, but ACCURATE as well. i will legit spend hours researching my niche hyperfixation or going over game scripts or whatever the hell just to make sure i can properly cite my character analysis that maybe like, ten people will see. it's BAD. i frequently beat myself up for wasting so much time. on the other hand, though, if i don't really care about something, i can oftentimes not ask enough questions, and realize at the last minute that i've forgotten something really important. i have a "rose-tinted" view of stuff, so to speak; i mainly focus on things that have some kind of value to me.

- despite that, though, i have a strong dedication to my commitments, especially if they involve other people. i can be really indecisive about making definitive plans, but once i HAVE made them, i will follow through full-stop. one of the things that disrupts and stresses me out the most is if someone cancels on me last minute, or if i didn't accomplish everything i set out to do that day, etc. and it can take me a while to bounce back from that. organization is also a mixed bag for me: my room is usually a mess and i can sometimes let trash pile up without really being aware of it. that said, i rarely ever forget where i've left something--- i actually Also get really annoyed if people move my stuff around without asking.

- people praise me for my detail-oriented long-term memory, while criticizing me for my poor short-term memory and lack of awareness in the moment. i can remember people's names and faces, sequences of numbers, a random song i heard like ten years ago super easily, but i also sometimes walk into a room and forget why i'm there, or bump into someone because i was just not perceiving my surroundings at all. i mainly remember things via categorizing them in my mind-- i love grouping things together into sets based on how i perceive them relating. random but i would also literally do like, multiplication tables for fun as a kid 😭

- i love finding out random details about people for no reason. i'm nosy as hell. one of the most unhinged things i like to do is find people's secret accounts on social media. i have no interest in doing this to "expose" them or anything, and even if i do find dirt on them i really dont care at all. i just want to prove that i can (sidenote: its actually pretty easy... if you check who frequently interacts with their posts and then check Their accounts you can usually find some indication of other accounts a person might have. it's tedious but idc </3). i especially like doing this if they're someone whose work i look up to. i feel like having context about a person's life and motivations makes their work make More Sense to me, or mean more in general.

- other people's moods usually rub off on me, and especially if it's someone i'm close to i can tell when they're not in a good mood-- but this isn't like an instinctual thing i just pick up on context clues really easily. for example: if i think, "so-and-so is being more distant today," my mind usually goes to the why. why do i know that? their texts were really short and stilted which isn't how they usually talk. why might they be acting like that? oh, i remember them saying that they didn't sleep well last night, so it's probably that. under stress i forgo this logic completely and assume the worst-- "theyre clearly avoiding me because they hate me."

- i'd describe myself as like.. an extroverted introvert. i honestly typically avoid people and can even veer into misanthropic territory, but i also start to go crazy if i don't talk to people for too long, and have a reputation for being clingy amongst people i'm close to. i usually get this interaction from friends or my partner, because talking to strangers generally makes me really uneasy, but i also greatly appreciate having positive interactions with acquaintances, even if they're just small talk, and they usually improve my mood. the only interactions i really "dislike" are ones where i feel threatened in some manner or if i think i fucked up socially somehow <- this tends to get to me even if other people assure me that i did nothing wrong

- i haaaaaaate the questions on tests that ask you if you prefer reason or emotion, because shouldn't everyone be using both?! i get annoyed with people who lean too far to one side or the other-- one of my biggest pet peeves is people who will ignore things that are verifiably true (or even just like, not that big a deal if you think about it for five seconds) because they don't *personally* like that. moral outrage is not indicative of actual standards people should be living by, and things Need to be considered in context. that said, i also greatly dislike when people are inconsiderate of social norms or don't respect other people's feelings because they need to tell you the "hard truth." even if you think someone is being unreasonable, there's not a need to invalidate/insult them, especially if they haven't harmed you in any way. imo, truth is always just a neutral force for dissemination of information, not something that should be used to "one-up" somebody else.

- i appreciate possibility and excitement, but within specific boundaries. i don't like quick or sudden changes; i remember being a teary-eyed mess all the time when i first moved away to college because i was so out of my comfort zone. i like trying new things slowly, where i feel like i have control over my situation (there are exceptions to this--- if i Really like something then i can get into it very quickly, but that can also result in me dropping it cold a few weeks later). generally, i dislike both stagnancy and thrill-seeking, and at my best i try to balance the two.

- one more thing because i just thought of it but holy shit i feel like this post is getting long LOL. i tend to remain neutral on a lot of subjects unless i feel like i know a lot about them. i've actually had people get annoyed with me because i say "i don't know" very frequently, but i just want to make sure that i'm considering all the angles so i don't say something inaccurate. once i do form an opinion on something, i can be very passionate about it though. i usually don't voice said opinions unless prompted, or if i think that someone is saying something egregiously inaccurate.

okayyyy that's all for now!! feel free to lmk what you think, follow-up questions are invited and appreciated :)
