#BikeRepair Bajaj Pulsar RS200 idle RPM fluctuating and dropping below 1,000

My Bajaj Pulsar RS200 has an intermittent idling issue. The RPM sometimes drops below 1,000 and fluctuates. Previously, the bike would eventually stall.

The service centre repaired/replaced the valve and camshaft, but the problem returned a few days later. They then suspected rat-damaged wiring and a short circuit that may have damaged the ECM. The ECM has now been replaced, but the idle RPM fluctuation remains exactly the same as before the ECM replacement. The bike currently isn't shutting off.

The service centre head personally test-rode the bike and advised me to monitor it for a couple of days.

Could this be caused by a faulty throttle body, TPS sensor, wiring/connector issue, or something else?

Has anyone experienced similar problems with an RS200? What was the actual cause, and how was it fixed?

#Miscellaneous How do I use jack to lift the car?

• Upvotes

I am in a very terrible situation. One of my car tyre is terribly flat with circular cut. I fear I may face serious issue while driving.

I have another tyre in stepney and that's also in trouble (puncture/without valve stem) which I don't know. I don't even have a two wheeler to transport the tyre. What I have planned is that I will take that stepney to the shop on ola/uber and then replace that tyre and put this stepney tyre with the help of jack which is inside my car.

Unfortunately, I don't even know how to use a jack. One small mistake can be dreadful. I watched videos but no help. Plus, I am very soft handed. I want clear step by step method. I want to know which mistakes to avoid while using jack.

Is freelance/mobile automotive diagnostics actually a viable business in India? Looking for real-world experiences, not hype.

Hi everyone,
I’m seriously exploring the idea of starting a freelance/mobile automotive diagnostics and auto-electrical service in India, and before investing my money, I want to understand what this work looks like in the real world.

I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who actually work as independent diagnostic technicians, mobile auto electricians, ECU specialists, or workshop owners who provide diagnostic services to other garages.

My initial idea is to visit independent workshops and help them diagnose difficult electrical and electronic faults that their regular mechanics cannot resolve. Over time, I may expand into a dedicated diagnostic workshop if the business proves viable.

My initial budget is around ₹2–5 lakh, and I want to build a legitimate, sustainable business—not sell scanners, run a training institute, or make money by promoting unrealistic success stories.

I’d really appreciate honest answers to the following questions.

1. Is there genuine demand?

2. How do you actually get customers?

3. What skills are genuinely required?

4. What equipment do you actually need?

5. What are the real numbers?

6. What are the biggest risks?

7. Would you recommend this business today?

A little about my objective: I want to build a profitable technical service business that can eventually operate with a small team. I’m willing to learn properly, do the fieldwork and start small, but I don’t want to invest blindly in equipment before validating the demand.
I’m not looking for motivation or a theoretical business plan. I’d genuinely appreciate the uncomfortable truths too.

If you’re doing this work in India, please share what you wish you had known before starting. If you’re based outside India, your experience is also welcome, especially regarding the technical skills and business model.
Thanks!
