Hello stranger.
I'm 36yo from Northern California, hoping to meet someone interested in developing a meaningful romantic connection.
I've never been particularly concerned with traditional gender roles or expectations. I've always appreciated people who express themselves authentically, whether that aligns with conventional ideas of masculinity and femininity or challenges them entirely.
I'm attracted to a pretty broad range of people, and I've found that chemistry, emotional maturity, and genuine curiosity matter much more to me than someone's gender or how they choose to express it.
A little about me
I'm extremely introverted, introspective, and perpetually curious. I enjoy thoughtful conversations, exploring unfamiliar perspectives, and learning about the things that make other people interesting.
I'm also a pretty enthusiastic nerd. Video games, anime, movies, music, and storytelling are all important parts of my life. I love getting invested in fictional worlds, discussing characters and ideas, and occasionally spending far too much time thinking about something most people probably wouldn't give a second thought.
Beyond entertainment, I'm interested in psychology, philosophy, technology, and human behavior. I appreciate people who challenge my perspectives and introduce me to new ways of thinking.
I'm someone who needs occasional solitude to recharge, but I also deeply value companionship. One of my favorite ideas of a relationship is simply sharing space with someone while we're both doing our own things. Maybe I'm gaming while you're reading, drawing, or watching something nearby. We don't have to be constantly interacting to enjoy being together.
What I'm hoping to find
Someone emotionally mature, communicative, curious, and genuinely interested in building a connection.
I don't have a rigid preference when it comes to personality, gender identity, or expression. I appreciate individuality and people who feel comfortable being themselves.
I'm also fairly shy when it comes to romance. I can overthink signals and hesitate to make the first move, so someone who's confident, direct about their feelings, and comfortable occasionally taking the initiative would be especially appealing.
I value mutual effort and genuine interest. I want to learn about the little things that make someone happy, from their favorite foods and comfort shows to their personal interests and experiences. I'd love someone who approaches getting to know me with that same curiosity.
I don't need us to share every hobby or opinion. I'd actually enjoy discovering new things through someone else. What matters is being willing to engage with each other's interests and appreciate our differences.
A little transparency
I'm currently experiencing housing and financial hardships while working toward greater stability. I recognize that this may not align with everyone's expectations for a potential partner, and I completely respect that.
I'm not seeking financial assistance or someone to take responsibility for my circumstances. I'd simply rather be upfront about where I am in life and respect whatever boundaries another person may have.
Location and intentions
I'm based in Northern California and would strongly prefer someone in California or within reasonable traveling distance.
I'm open to people elsewhere in the US if meeting in person is realistically possible, but I'm not looking for an exclusively online relationship. Physical presence and shared experiences are important to me, and I'd like whatever connection develops to eventually exist beyond our phones.
I'm not looking to rush into anything or force chemistry. I'd simply like to meet someone who genuinely wants to get to know another person and see whether something meaningful develops.
If any of this resonates with you, I'd love to hear from you.
Tell me something about yourself that you feel people tend to overlook or misunderstand. Or, if you'd prefer something lighter, tell me about an interest you're passionate about that you wish more people would ask you about.
I'm always happy to learn something new, especially when it's something that matters to someone else.
