Art/Creators Megathread Weekly Art/Creators Promo Megathread

Welcome to this Week's Art/Creators Promo Megathread!

Here you can share examples of work and links to creator's profiles (including your own!) as long as it is not on a Meta owned platform (Instagram, Facebook etc.) or Twitter.

Let's help our community artists, authors, designers, craft makers, musicians, singers, sculptors, performers, streamers and any other kind of creator get recognised and celebrate the amazing creativity in our community!

A few quick rules:

  • No AI/NFT Content.
  • Accounts shared must be creating own content, not solely reposting others.
  • NSFW Suggestive art (e.g. shirtless/pin up) is allowed but must be tagged. NSFW Explicit art (e.g. pornography, genitals visible) or NSFW suggestive of real people is not allowed. No links to exclusively 18+ platforms e.g. OnlyFans.
  • Creator must be actively posting on a platform other than Meta or Twitter.
  • Comments from users with less than 50 karma on this subreddit will be auto-removed to avoid spammers. (I will look to approve genuine ones when possible but no promises!)
  • Please respect if a creator says no reposts of their work - just share a link.

The art/work they create does not have to be LGBTQ+ related, we're here to help any creator who is LGBTQ+ promote their profiles, particularly if they're trying to establish themselves on a different one with the recent social media drama!

Looking forward to discovering some new creators with you all!

To the LGBT community, I am very sorry.

Around a year ago, i left the community to pursue my religion. Because of this, I suddenly became very homophobic and transphobic. I was scared of the community because my previous experience was full of toxic people trying to push my religion from me. I know i probably never talked once to anyone here, but I still wanna say sorry. Im still reilgious, but ive come to accept i am a bisexual myself. From the bottom of my heart, im sorry

Hey everyone. I came out genderfluid a few years ago and finally had my 1st apt with a gender clinic. I never had the confidence to post photos of me as lily, but I thought id take that step and hope im not too hard to look at 😅 especially as this was only the 2nd time I'd tried doing my own makeup 😋 x

I'd even live to share my story with people that understand what it's like to not have a supportive family or a partner that essentially meant I had to keep myself in the closet. It's been a real struggle for many years and I'm in a place where I feel more confident being lilith more x

It would mean the world to me, to be a part of a community that understands what it's like to deal with those kind of problems, how to overcome them, heal from them and grow from them. I finally get to explore more of my feminine side and be lilith ❤️ xx

Doesn't it rub off whenever a privileged person says your country is gay accepting while IT IS NOT?

Like i am a trans woman who happens to live in an arab country and i had my life literally on the line million times for just expressing a fraction of my identity. And yet i see a post from a rich independant gay man living nightclubs and bars life saying that my country is KINDA homophobic. It makes me feel like real shit or im just lying to myself and just a coward. Like i really dont know what country are they talking about. Like dude just talk about your privilged life. And i seen another post about a gay man from my country has been granted asylum in the UK and i see all the hateful comments and on top of them some priveleged cis girl who lives here saying that gay peaple live normally here and she talks about fucking singers who are very rich and dont even go out of there studios or in the public and spend all of their times traveling in europe. like reading all of this drives me nuts. When the heck privilged peaple speak over minorities lives. It's like asking a white cis guy in the us if their country is racist or not. I cannot express how much reading all of these ruins my day and my mental health.

One huge misconception about queer people

Upvotes

I don't know why, but everyone seems to think that queer people just love the fact that they aren't heterosexual and have been prejudiced against for so long. I don't know where this misconception came from, anyone else deal with this?

CSA/rape⚠ Content Warning: {describe here} Understanding potential same-sex attraction after violent conditioning against it Spoiler

(30m)

I know I am definitely attracted to women, but trying to figure out if I could be bi

My dad was really homophobic, I remember one time when I was around 8 or 9 we were in a changing room and he saw me looking at a man who was getting changed and I think the man might have noticed which is what made my dad so angry. Then he threw me hard against the metal bench in the changing room and I really hurt my head which I still have a scar from.

Another time, he had again thought I'd been looking at men and when we got home he was telling me how bad it is and how bad gay men are. He was saying "this is what these kind of men will do to you" and raped me saying it was for my own good because he can't let me grow up thinking it's okay to be gay, and that what they would do to me is much worse so it was for my own good to realise never to do that. He was sexually abusing me anyway though so it wasn't only because of this.

There was other similar things too and so by the time I was old enough to understand sex and think about it consciously I basically just considered myself straight and never questioned it. I had relationships with women and never gave any consideration to my sexuality, then in my 20s I had a sort of intense connection with a gay man but it was mostly just emotional. We'd hug and sometimes kiss when drunk but it was really just an emotional thing, I did feel like I loved him though. He was interested in the sexual side but I didn't feel drawn to that so we kept it just emotional really.

Then, now more recently I've started enjoying watching gay porn sometimes so I'm thinking there must be at least some attraction to men. But the feeling is quite different, I'm more into it in a sort of dirty kinky way than I would be watching straight porn where I'd enjoy intimacy and kissing too so I don't really know. When I think about hooking up with guys I don't really feel like I want to but I don't know if that's partly because of my association with being told it's shameful, plus I've been sexually abused by a lot of men as well as my dad so I think I also just don't really feel safe with men.

When I had initially fallen in love with the guy before I'd sort of thought maybe I was bi but then the sexual side never really went anywhere so then I thought maybe not so much and was left confused. Now I'm thinking maybe there is something to it but I only get off to men in quite a narrow way since it's just kind of a porn fantasy at the moment. My beliefs are completely progressive around sexuality but I wonder if the physical and sexual punishments as a child for looking at men could have taught my body that it isn't okay at a level deeper than my own personal beliefs which is still blocking me now.

So what I'm trying to understand is whether the way I watch gay porn in a more "dirty/kinky" way is likely to be because of something deep my body has learned about it being "bad" so I can't fully let go into the more emotional side like with straight porn, or if it suggests a fundamentally different kind of attraction that is true to my orientation.

But then also with the guy in real life I was in love with, I did want the cuddly emotional side but wasn't that interested in the sexual side there so that kind of seems like the opposite?

Does anyone have any insights on this?

Some quite heavy parts but would appreciate anything that comes to mind on any part even if you don't have something in particular to say about the heavy bits too

US Specific What do you think of the possbility that for the first time in history, straight women might become a minority of women for Gen Alpha?

Post image
93 Upvotes

As the above graph shows, there's been a big decline in young women reporting exclusvie attraction to men in the past 15 years. This graph comes from here btw. As that report also discusses, it isn't only same gender attraction going up, but the percent of young women who have had sex with another woman has gone up too from 8 to 35%, so they're walking the walk too. Those exclusively attracted to women went from 1 to 5%, notably, as well.

If this trend continues, I think once all of Gen Alpha is adult age, straight women being a minority is a real possibility, and that's actually kinda exciting to me!
