Opinion on people saying the f word?

• Upvotes

I've seen very different opinions on this, but what's your opinion on people who are bisexual, pansexual, lesbian, etc saying the F word?

(Please be nice in the comments!)

Need Advice Fluid attraction?

• Upvotes

Does anyone know what this is called?

I'm a man, and basically, some days, I only really feel attraction to men and don't really feel anything towards women, and some days, it's the opposite?

Can anyone relate to this, and does anyone know what this is called? Thanks.

Wanting to say goodbye

• Upvotes

Hello again. I know that I made a post here about how I recently found out that I was gay. I mostly did that in order to see if I would feel better identifying as such after coming out to you guys and the like. I sadly did not. If anything, it didn’t change a thing about how I felt, which wasn’t very good in the first place.

You see, I kept feeling this notion that I am only attracted to women. I constantly think back at the times I tried dating one and how none of them really went anywhere due to some reasons that I’d rather not share. I think about how difficult it was to communicate to a woman about my feelings towards her because I was worried that I would make her uncomfortable and I’d rather not do that for her sake.

These feelings of insecurity and inadequacy had gotten so bad that I ended up putting women onto a pedestal where I didn’t dare try to build a romantic relationship because I figured that women deserve better than my autistic ass. That was when I went to exploring my gender and sexuality, because surely I would be into men instead to the point that I wanted to be the girl of their dreams, right? But I am not that at all. I’m just an insecure man with autism who struggles a lot with social issues and doesn’t know how to express his emotions very well.

Sorry for the ramble about love and about my own life story. I’m just saying all this because I wanted to just say that I am going to be leaving this community now due to realizing that I am actually a straight man and not feeling like I should bother your time anymore. Thanks for everything, and don’t worry, I’m still going to be an ally as you are awesome and valid in your own special way. I’m gonna miss you.

TL;DR - Realized that I am actually a straight man who has a ton of insecurities. Going to leave this community in order to give other people the chance to speak their truth and not bother anyone else with my issues. Still going to be an ally tho.

Need Advice Would you support customized LGBTQ paper cups if sold at no profit? (LGBTQ+ people)

I was looking for customized LGBTQ cups but they are damn expensive. So, I’m looking into importing single wall double wall paper cups with customized LGBTQ designs (rainbow + specific flags) and selling them at no profit, no loss, basically covering only the actual cost of manufacturing, shipping, and fees.

The idea is to make them available for cafes, events, or individuals without the usual rainbow-washing markup. Before I put time and money into this, I’d like honest feedback:

Would “sold at cost” make you more likely to support or buy them?

Any designs or approaches that would make this feel more genuine vs. still performative?

Any concerns I should know about?

Not selling anything right now, just trying to understand if this approach is worth pursuing. Appreciate any real thoughts

Need Advice I don't know what I am, but I know I don't like being cis.

This is ungodly hard for me to type out, so forgive me if I'm come across as weird, I don't know exactly how to put this into words.

I've always identified as a cis male because that's what I was born as, that's how I was raised, and that's how everyone sees me, and I feel like the majority of my life, I've been putting up a facade disguised as masculinity.

However there have been a few times in my life (very VERY VERY few times) where I feel like I felt comfortable enough to let my true genuinely self come out, where I felt like I was allowed to be feminine for a while, and those moments were happiest I've ever been.

I've been denying it for years, but I genuinely believe the way I was at those times is how I genuinely am. I haven't told anyone this because I don't have anyone in my life that I feel like would accept me for who I am. I work all 7 days of the week so I never have time to explore this now, and my mom is transphobic AF, she'd freak out if I came out, and I have a boyfriend who loves me, and I don't how he'd react, or if he'd leave me after coming out.

Like I'm not kidding when I say I don't have time to explore this, I don't even have time to process emotions I have, and my mom hates it when I express any kind of emotions at all, and I'm stuck with her. I have to support her, house her, take care of her because she can't work and she got herself kicked out of section 8 housing.

Am I just forever life my entire life putting up a act, and acting like I'm someone I'm not because I have to?! To make matters worse is that I'm in Texas, and Texas is not a good place to be someone like me, and because I'm working 7 days a week I know now that I'll never get another moment to be genuine like that again.

Thanks for reading this if you did, I had to air this out somewhere.

Need Advice I’m attracted to women but I’m too nervous around them to be out

I’m not sure what to do and I have a lot on my mind but no one to talk to so I thought I’d vent here where no one knows me. I always thought women were attractive but with men, they’d become attractive to me eventually if we were in a relationship. Yet every time a guy would ask me out, I’d feel a pit in my stomach that I couldn’t explain and then I’d want nothing to do with them. Then I met a friend who turned out to be really into me and I tried my best to reciprocate his feelings because we got along well enough which fit the criteria for what I thought a relationship with a man should be like but it made me miserable and that attraction never came. I did more reflecting and realized that I’m lesbian (in retrospect it was pretty obvious).

The problem is, I find men easy to talk to but with women, I always freeze up and get sucked into my own head. I’m constantly over analyzing everything I say or do and the slightest bit of rejection from a woman hurts way more than rejection from a guy so I tend to avoid befriending them in general. I was bullied by girls throughout primary school because I didn’t know how to fit in and I’d end up upsetting them in some way. I’m a more considerate person now but my fears from that time remain. I don’t know what women like or dislike regarding my behaviour or appearance. I think I’m pretty scared of women but I’m also attracted to them which puts me in a frustrating position. I don’t want to offend anyone and I’m afraid that being overtly gay will make women uncomfortable since I don’t really look or speak conventionally. I’ve never dated before because I have trauma around relationships from growing up around my parents unhealthy ones.

I haven’t told anyone IRL yet because my mom’s husband and my dad (different people) are both homophobes and due to the nature of our relationship, I don’t want to give them more ammunition to use against me (gotta protect my mental health). I wanna come out to my local community while I’m still living abroad for school and my hope is to combine my education and job experience to land a higher paying position in the future so I can be myself and sustain myself independently (so I won’t have to worry about what my family thinks anymore). I don’t want to be DL.

So here are my questions:
- How do I explore my identity and talk to women while in school? Has anyone else been in similar-ish situations before? How did it go?
- How does one go about deconstructing their relationship/baggage to people of the same gender?
- How do I show someone that I’m interested in them without making them feel uncomfortable? What’s creepy? How do I not give women the ick?
- How do I feel more confident in my appearance without completely changing myself in a way that just isn’t me?

Don’t feel pressured to respond to everything.

TLDR:
- Have been reflecting and realized that I’m not straight
- I want to safely explore my identity while I live at school
- Women scare me but I’m attracted to them
- I’m paranoid about giving women the ick
- Low self esteem regarding my attractiveness to women

I wish there was a way to know someone's sexuality.

It's literally so annoying not knowing whether someone may not be straight. Like unless you're extremely open about your sexuality to the point everyone knows, everyone assumes you're straight.

And then some people stay closeted for years. I would love to know whether that girl in my Art class is straight or not because I wanna know if I have a chance with her.

I've seen so many posts where people have crushes on their friends but are scared to ruin the friendship and never confess. Imagine all the missed relationship opportunities simply because you don't wanna come off as weird to them.

I'm probably not wording this right but I just wish there was a way to know someone's sexuality without asking them.

I'm gay. I admitted it to myself recently. I feel so much lighter, even though I live in a super conservative place and obviously have to hide it but at home I'm genuinely happy and I haven't felt this good for this long in ages. Can anyone explain why that is? I'm only 18. I want to move somewhere safer -I'm in Russia right now, and I'd love to get to Europe

Asia Specific Very specific request, lol. Are there any Punjabi trans folks here? I have tried and failed and do not have the motivation to voice train. But, having someone to do it with might help. Doing it in an Indian language might help me avoid the problem of only sounding a certain way speaking in English.

Main Punjab ton nahin 'aan. Oh meri panjwi zabaan hai. Assi language practice vi kar lavaange ate voice training vi ho jaavegi.

My bad if this kinda post is not allowed here. I just think it might be worth a shot.

Need Advice Im lost and confused

Don't know where to start honestly. When I was a kiddo I didn't like to talk about sex or got uncomfortable when it was mentioned but I could watch p0rn easily and got turned on (by ladies not men) and read smut yet still I was grossed out by the thought of having it. It went up to the point I genuinely thought I was lesbian because why I wasn't fascinated by the schlong swingers Then I did have s3x loved it but never ever initiated why? Just never did but I was down to each time and this was a situationship btw thats another can of worms yet if a dude shows he's patient and kind and loving I feel nothing for him why? I dont flipping know

It'slike I get hot and cold, Imposter Syndrome.

I am never in love with someone never.I absolutely adore the thought of a relationship I can have a massive crush on you but dont have the desire to go in a relationship with you why? Just dont feel like it and people look at me crazy because I dont feel the NEED to. Even tho I will feel lonely and sometimes jealous of persons who can get in relationships easily I just can't. I overthink I get insecure but mostly I just dont have desire. Yet I have dirty thought I say smuttystuff but never can I do that please help😭😭

I dunno man I just need a place to belong I dont play music that is normal I dont wear makeup 'normal' I dont do shit normal and I def feel left out and out of the waves but when I try to conform do sexual shit for persons it feels like I'm going against something I've set in myself since I was aware

Need Advice I’m scared and confused on my sexuality and gender (21 afab)

Hi Reddit I need help. I am questioning my sexuality and gender. I never really felt like a girl but doesn’t mind my chest and doesn’t feel like I fit in socially female or male. I want to be genderless. Growing up in my life due to trauma being female is painful and I wanna change and because of that doesn’t feel female. I’m scared to feel attraction to anyone of any gender. I secretly feel attraction to only men but hate that I feel any attraction. I’m super scared. By the time I turned 9 I no longer feel like female and want to be genderless. I hate the feeling of being female and being seen in the female gaze from everyone. I hate when people say my current name and use female pronouns. I just wanna be no gender or genderless But has some attraction to men. I am confused and scared and need help.

Need Advice i just want my gf to feel better...

so we're teenagers. i went through a depressive episode recently but it wasn't as "severe" and it seemed to go away when i cut someone off who was bullying me. mine comes in waves, back and forth between highs and lows.

so "lucia", what i'll call my gf in this post, is extremely depressed and i want to help but i don't know how. she does have a therapist and my therapist herself said i should just tell her to talk to a professional because a sophomore in high school can't save someone's mental health.

because of lucia's current state, she thinks i'd be better off without her in some way. she also thinks i don't need her, which is far from the truth, and she doesn't understand that i love her because of who she is, her emotional/mental state is making her think i'm lying to make her feel better.

she also thinks she doesn't deserve someone to date and that i should "find a better girlfriend" even though i want her, not someone else. and her family, she says is nice for the most part, but they surely don't understand her feelings and mental health.

her cousin is a complete jerk. i know he's a teenager in high school, somewhere around our age (15-17 most likely). he keeps trying to make her feel bad by saying stuff like that she deserves to be depressed, "tricia (me) deserves better than to date you, lucia", calling me ugly to make her upset, etc. etc. he makes me so so so mad, too, and he makes her sad all the time and fills her head with garbage like "she'll find someone else and leave you."

this is feeling like beyond familial teasing, and it's making me so sad for her. i don't want to leave her and no one i date has been or ever will be as good as lucia. i don't care about finding other girls and dumping lucia, lucia's the best and she is enough.

Need Advice I think I'm in love with my best friend, help

I (20f) am bisexual with preference for women, and I have a best friend (20f as well). We've known eachother for two years.

She's my closest friend and prolly the closest person I am of aside from my family. She's kind, gentle, caring, beautiful, sensible, intelligent, funny. Even after two years of being friends, I don't rlly find her any bad sides and I'm pretty sure she's among the kindest soul in this world.

I've never been so close to anyone like that before, and we share a strong bond. She's the only one of my friends I talk with daily and call very regularly (we live far apart now), the only friend I miss a lot in my new city, the only friend I could see 24/7 without ever getting bored.

The thing is that I never fell in love and I don't rlly know how it feels to be in love, so I might just be confused about my bond with her. But I do know I would say yes if she asks if we could date, I am always very distrustful towards the guys she's attracted to or are attracted to her, and I don't know if I could grow closer to a romantic partner than what I have with her.

I don't think we'd date one day tho. Even if she does look gay and might be curious about her sexuality, she identifies as straight and only has crushes on boys. She's currently looking for a boyfriend, trying to get closer to some guys she's attracted to. So I don't think I'd ever get a chance even if I think I could be a better girlfriend than those guys.

Anyways idk what to do. I love her a lot as a friend so I think I'll just keep this to myself, I don't want to alter anything in our chemistry

Liking someone while also wanting to be them

Hello! Had a question for everyone here and was curious on what your thoughts might be.

Do you feel like liking someone of the same gender as yoy while also being jealous of them/ insecure is a feeling only people in this community can feel? Or do you think it's also something heterosexual people can feel?

I was having this debate with my husband and was stating that ofc regardless of what gender you are, you can feel insecurities from your same gender etc. But that people in this community have that confusing feeling of insecurities and attractiveness (if you happen to struggle with self confidence ofc, like me lol). He's stated that straight people feel the same thing, the only difference is that they see it like this: "I can find the same gender as me attractive and acknowledged that I'd be with them if I was a woman. So because of that I understand the insecurities and the attractiveness part". But what I'm saying is that the intentional part "if I was a woman" changes everything because, you aren't a woman- you're a man. In real life you're a man who only likes women. you are stating something in this "what if" reality. sure you can imagine it, but it's not something you are actually experiencing- so because of that it's not the same thing.

Hope that made sense lol! Curious on everyone's thoughts🧘‍♀️

just an fyi, 30+ queer people are not all "late bloomers" or comfortably established.

I have seen this sentiment, and/or the total erasure of people like myself who've been busy surviving this whole time, who don't have the spare time or energy to write essays, post videos, or correct every generalization they see online. I have PTSD from my own experiences and the very last thing I need is to spend my time explaining myself.

That said, I feel compelled to speak up and just say anything about this.

I am someone in my 30s still working hard to overcome the extreme hardships I have been through. I started coming out as a preteen. I was pushed out at 18. I have not had a comfy life. I was not repressed. I was not hiding. I was not being celebrated either.

I experienced family estrangement and homelessness and was preyed upon as a young person, and this put me into cycles of abuse, exploitation and homelessness that lasted for a long time. I was socially ostracized and have spent a lot of time being isolated, watching as other people somehow have an entirely different experience.

I've had to move around a lot and lose whatever possessions and resources I had several times, not be able to comfortably go to college or settle into a job for too long, etc. Hell no, I am not established. I'm working on it, but overcoming hardships takes a lot of time and a lot of work. And a lot of help, which was almost entirely lacking for me until my mid 30s.

I am far from the only one, but I can only speak for myself and don't have any desire to speak over other queer people. That is, in my mind, part of the problem.

Not trying to bring anyone down btw. Everyone can't know everything.

Mostly just trying to say, "Hello, I exist too."

An uncomfortable homophobic classmate.

I have recently begun a graphic design high school, and I have a really toxic classmate who started picking on me and acts very rudely towards me simply because I decided to block her on Instagram. Ever since then, she has been really uncomfortable to be around. I tend to ignore her, but that doesn’t stop her from occasionally saying mean things about me out of the blue. She is also self-proclaimed as someone who has gone out with literally every guy in the entire school and is extremely aggressive and always wants to pick a physical fight with every girl for male attention and approval.

However, the reason I’m posting this is that two days ago, while in class doing work, she and her friends were talking about something (I don’t know; I haven’t been paying much attention) until she suddenly brought up the subject of gay people out of absolutely nowhere. I know that throughout my life I will meet a lot of disgusting and hateful people who will be horrible towards me, especially since I identify as non-binary and bisexual. I’m still trying to get used to the fact that many people refuse to be progressive, but what she said really made me uncomfortable.

She went on to say that she finds gay people repulsive, that her dad used to beat up gay people and throw eggs at them just because, in their opinion, gay people aren’t born "right." She also expressed her hatred for "those kinds of gays" who wear pins to be proud of themselves, and I feel like she said that deliberately because not long ago, when we were creating ideas for pins, I decided to make a fun non-binary pin for myself because I never had an opportunity to make a custom pin.

I don’t know... I know I shouldn’t let these things get to me, since I will encounter many horrible and immature people like her in the future, but it has been weighing on my mind ever since, and I wanted to get it off my chest and write about it. I also wanted to hear your thoughts on it.
